[Nineteen years later.]

"Have you seen him yet?" a lady asked curiously as she tried pushing the heads of her friends out of the way so she could have a look at the dashing prince charming.

"Stop pushing me away. He isn't here yet. Moreover, he is simply passing by. It's not like he is going to stop anyway."

"I have heard about how gorgeous and attractive he is. He is the strongest warrior ever, and many elites won't stop trying to woo him for their daughters."

"Funny to think we would end up with him as his wife."

The talk continued growing, and the screams went the highest immediately after he was sighted on his horse, galloping towards the route where they had all converged to see him.

"Oh my goodness, he is so handsome," a lady pretended to faint.

"How can a man look this gorgeous?" a man muttered with annoyance as they watched him disappear further from them.

"You must be so jealous of him. I bet the Alpha and the Luna hid him for so long from the rest of the world because of how devilishly handsome he is."

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Valen stopped at the gate and got off his horse. The guard standing at the entrance welcomed him and led the horse to its stable while he walked into the house magnificently.
His attention was immediately brought to the grunts and shouts coming from his left-hand side, so he turned towards the route instead. He got to the training ground, and what he saw made him smirk.
The pack's warriors were training under the sharp eyes of their one and only strict and stern Alpha, Draegon, his father. They were relentlessly tackling each other, hoping for a win over the other, while Draegon watched them intently, looking out for a mistake.
His eyes caught sight of his son, but he didn't instantly pay attention as he stood in the middle, barking out orders, correcting stances, and pointing out weaknesses, too.
Warriors sparred in pairs, some already bruised and panting, others still standing tall and ready for more, and without a word, Valen stepped closer.
One of the warriors noticed him and nodded in greeting. “My prince,” he said, panting. “Want a turn?”
Everyone turned to look at him. Not everyone had a chance to fight the Alpha's son, as he was skillful in art and war. For the few of those who had fought with him, they had great testimonies to give of his mightiness.
Valen only smirked. “Bring someone ready,” he said, pulling off his outer layer and stepping onto the dirt floor.
The man stepped back and motioned to another warrior with broad shoulders, a proud stance, and good balance. Valen faced him and Alpha Draegon stepped aside confidently to watch his child, and then the sparring began.
Valen moved like the wind, quick, quiet, and sharp. His strikes weren’t just strong, they were smart. He dodged without wasting a breath, twisted with ease, and swept his opponent to the ground in a blink.
He didn’t stop there.
Instead of walking away after his win, he offered his hand to help him up. “You lead too much with your left. It gives away your next move,” he said calmly. "Keep your core steady. You’re strong, but you use your power without focus.”
The man, red in the face from both the fight and the advice, nodded quickly. “Yes, my prince.”
Who would have thought that he was only nineteen?
Another man came forward, then another. And Valen trained with them all, pushing, blocking, striking, then pausing to teach. His voice stood firm but calm, his movements smooth and exact. He taught them without pride, but with purpose. Every mistake was a lesson, and every bruise was growth.
The warriors respected him not just because he was strong, but because he made them stronger, too.
Alpha Draegon stood at the edge of the ground, arms crossed, watching the prince move like a shadow through the field. His eyes held pride, though he kept his face calm. He was his greatest secret and his greatest strength. The warriors know him as the strongest male in the pack.
After a while, Valen stepped back, rolling his shoulder and letting the others continue training among themselves. He walked to where his father stood, and without a word, he walked with him a few steps away from the rest
.
They stood side by side, watching the warriors spar.
“You’re teaching them well,” Draegon said, his voice low and proud.
"We are all learning from the best after all."
"They’re learning fast,” Valen added, eyes still on the field. “Some more than others.”
“Still,” Draegon remarked, a faint smile touching his lips. “None can match you. You are the greatest asset that I have.”
Valen didn’t reply. He didn’t need to. He simply chuckled and let his fingers brush through his eyes.
"Where is Mother?" he finally asked.
"She is supposed to be inside."
"Okay, Father, I will go and check on her."
"Alright."
He had not made his way any further when he was suddenly pulled into one of the rooms, and the door was shut behind him. He was going to reiterate, but after seeing who it was, he relaxed.
"Mother?" he called out.
"Where have you been, huh?" Seraphim said, scanning his body for any signs of injury.
"I was on my way, looking for you." Valen rolled his eyes.
"How can you just be walking around carelessly? Don't you know..."
"It's important for me to stay within the four corners of the house because it's the safest for me." Valen completed the words and sat down, spreading his legs wide.
"Valen!"
"Calm down, mother. You are getting too paranoid. No one will know I'm a woman. That's been secured already, so stop getting scared," he smiled at her mother, but Seraphim was still not relieved.
"All these are your father's fault. He came up with this disastrous idea, and now look, he has turned my flower into an iron and a stone! She can't even behave courteously."
Valen rolled his eyes again as he listened to her mother continue with her unstoppable rant, as usual. Someone urgently knocked on the door, interrupting them afterward.
"Come in."
Gray entered. His eyes were red, and he looked apprehensive. Valen noticed this and quickly stood, making his way toward his mother while shielding her with his muscular body.
"What is it? Are you about to lose control?"
Gray shook his head and waved a letter as he tried to get his words out, "The Lycanis... They sent a message. They are coming!" he cried out.
Seraphim took the sealed letter and tore it. Her eyes swept through the scattered words on the line, widened, and she gasped out in shock before covering her mouth.
No, this can't be.
Not now.
No, they can't come now.
    Aldridge opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling for what seemed to be three minutes straight while trying to make sense of his situation. The moving sound from his right-hand side caught his attention and he turned his head to look at what it was when he noticed someone instead. Lucan was standing at the window and staring outside. Seeing him made Aldridge feel relieved about his presence. He took his time taking in Lucan's appearance and figure, afraid to ruin the moment by any action he took. Lucan's head turned immediately after feeling someone's burning gaze on him and their eyes met. "You have woken up," He said and then walked away from the window to his side. Aldridge didn't for once take his eyes away from Lucan even after he was standing next to him. "Do you need to sit up?" Lucan asked, and that was when Aldridge blinked and moved his eyes to his stomach, which was bandaged. Lucan leaned in and helped him to sit up, ignoring his grunts while doing so. "I
  • That Was No Prince: She fooled the Lycanis   SOLD BODY
    Valen stood at the doorway, silent as a stone, watching the two guards carefully lay Rhydian down on his massive bed. His body had returned to normal, no longer the snarling beast that had rampaged through the whole place. But his eyes remained shut ever since he came back to himself. Valen stepped forward, his heart pounding. "Be gentle with him," he said, almost in a whisper. The guards nodded and bowed as they exited, leaving him alone with the unconscious king. During his beastly moment, he had injured himself numerous times. It must have been because of the struggle. There were marks all over his body, which of course had been cleaned up, and bandages to avoid infection.Poor king. This must be what he was facing in secret. A terrible life. He lowered himself beside the bed, his gaze moving over Rhydian’s form. His chest rose and fell, slow but steady. Valen reached out, his fingers brushing the side of Rhydian’s neck to check for a pulse. It was faint, but it was there. He pr
    Iza paced slowly in front of the line of young men and women. Each was dressed in white garments, loosely tied with vines at their wrists. The sun had not fully risen, but Iza needed this to be done with and over. He had made it compulsory that they should cover their heads with something that looked like a veil. That was the ritual. Only the beast could touch them now. "Form a straight line," Iza ordered. "Anyone who tries to escape or does anything annoying will be punished severely. Remember the rules that I gave you. Hide your fears and just go ahead to the cave. If you're willing, the beast will spare you." From the look of things, however, especially with the raging howls, it didn't seem like it would for once occur to the beast to spare them. But who could say no?He looked around and muttered, "Thank the goddess Valen is nowhere near to interrupt this. I was suspicious about the peace of mind that I suddenly have." Just then, Aldridge approached with his arms folded.
    Valen sneezed and rubbed his nose. This was a sign that he was in a place that he ought not to be. This journey took him half a day already, and not only was he weak, but the temperature was worse than he thought. His body wasn't used to the kind of cold that came with this. It was night, but the sky was surprisingly clear. The wind was also blowing. If not because of the clear sky, Valen would have easily concluded that it was about to rain. "I can't give up now. I have come too far to want the give." He wished and crouched low beneath the twisted roots of a gnarled tree. His breath was shallow and his eyes were scanning for any movement in the shadows. It would be terrible for him to get caught by the vampires. After a day and a half of travel, he finally reached the borders of the Vampires’ territory. The cold here even went deep into his bones, unlike anything he had ever experienced. It was far worse than the one he experienced while coming. It wasn’t just the chill that le
    Lucan eagerly searched for Aldridge while actively trying to fight the strange smell that had filled the air. It was for the cleansing of the victims. On his way, he collided with Iza. A few things fell from Iza's hands and scattered everywhere else on the floor. Iza hissed and cast a glare at the intruder. It was not far-fetched that he was a werewolf. Lucan immediately got on his knees and quickly picked the strange objects up before handing them over to Iza apologetically. "You werewolves don't seem to know your place anymore in these mountains. What are you doing here? Who are you? Raise your head and look me in the eye when I'm speaking to you, young man!" Lucan slowly raised his head, fidgeting with his fingers, "I...I am sorry. I am Lucan and I am here to see Sir Aldridge." He was going to add that it was urgent, but doing that would only open the door for more impromptu questions. "Aldridge?" Iza asked pronouncing the name with disdain as he eyed Lucan. The young
    Later at night, the whole palace had become active. Everyone couldn't sleep and all hands were on deck. Valen watched as things unfolded in front of his eyes. He tried to come up with some kind of solution but he couldn't. "No matter what, I have to take Start out of the palace tonight." He said a bit strongly about his decision. Lucan blocked his path, "What will you do if you're caught huh? They've been counted. If any of them go missing on the day, it won't be funny "Valen flared at him, "So what should I do then? Watch my sister get killed by that idiotic beast? Is that what you want me to do?"Lucan grabbed his arm hand tightly, pulled him closer, their faces almost touching. "Listen to me, Young lady," Lucan said with all seriousness, his voice lowered a bit and the rest of his words came out through gritted teeth. "I am only asking you to think and plan strategically before anything else. If you're caught, not only will you not be able to save your sister, you
