Chapter Forty Five

When Lio came home from work, he called a meeting with the pack. Lio sat on his throne in the sacred gathering grounds where the challenge for me had been held only two months ago. Ba’al and Githinji stood on either side of him, I stood next to the throne on his right side. Lio said that place would always be mine. I felt like I had a spotlight on me but I was going to have to get used to it once I became his mate.

Everyone was riled up about what to do; I’d never seen them so frustrated.

“Teris wants revenge, that’s clear. What isn’t clear is what we’re doing to get rid of him.”

Enzo said from his spot in the crowd.

“We need a solid plan. We can’t just show up in their territory and expect an easy battle. The bears have joined forces with them. For all we know, they could have all of their people plus the bears numbers with them when we confront them. Our power has grown, make no mistake. But we’d be going up against two Leaders. Each of their clans are as large as ours.
