My eyebrows pulled together. “What does that even mean, Alpha?”

Jaron’s jaw flexed. Those storm-dark eyes stayed locked on mine, like he was forcing himself to explain something he’d rather keep buried under that rigid Alpha posture.

“It means,” he said slowly, “Daniel has a mate.”

I blinked.

Once.

Twice.

A third time, just to make sure I heard him right.

“That’s… why you came here?” I asked. “That’s the reason?”

His expression stayed carved in stone, calm but clipped. “Yes. I’m avoiding trouble. I don’t want you caught in anything unnecessary.”

My mouth fell open a little. “Trouble? Alpha, I'm just comforting her..

“It didn’t look like nothing,” he replied, tone firm but controlled. “And people will talk if they see something they misunderstand. Especially given the situation with his mate.”

I slowly shook my head. He still wasn’t getting it.

So I told him.

“Alpha,” I breathed out, “his mate cheated on him.”

That finally made Jaron’s eyes flicker. A slight shift. A crack in the mask.

  • The Alpha Biker's Healer   Chapter 41

ALPHA JARON'S POVI could feel her before I even saw her, the soft rhythm of her heartbeat threading through the air like a promise. My hands found hers, and I held them tightly, unwilling to let go. My lips brushed against her temple, lingering just long enough to taste the warmth of her skin.“I love you,” I murmured, voice low and steady, yet trembling with everything I felt. Her eyes widened slightly, and a shiver ran down my spine as she leaned closer, pressing her forehead to mine.“I love you too,” she whispered, her voice barely audible, yet it rang in my chest like the clearest bell. Our lips met then, slow and deliberate, each movement of the kiss deepening the bond that pulsed between us. I cupped her face, feeling the heat of her skin, the softness of her features, the undeniable pull of our mate bond threading tighter with every heartbeat. She laughed softly at something unspoken, her hand resting against my chest, curling around me as if she could anchor herself in the m

  • The Alpha Biker's Healer   Chapter 40

KAHLIA'S POVI woke with a start, my heart hammering so violently I thought it might burst through my chest. The room was dark, the soft glow of the streetlights filtering through the blinds the only illumination. My pulse raced, and for a split second I couldn’t remember where I was, or why the anxiety had clawed its way into my sleep. Then came the frantic pounding on my door, sharp and insistent.“Dr. Ford!” a panicked voice called out. “You need to come, now!”I shot out of bed, my bare feet hitting the cool floor as I rushed to the door. Before I could even reach for the handle, the door swung open. Daniel stood there, eyes wide, his usual composure shattered.“Alpha…” he gasped. “He passed out. You have to come quick.”My stomach dropped, a cold wave of panic sweeping over me. I swallowed hard, forcing my legs to move, and followed him without another word. My mind raced. The Alpha had passed out. Alpha Jaron, the man I had been treading so carefully around, the one I had been m

  • The Alpha Biker's Healer   Chapter 39

ALPHA JARON'S POVThe hallway outside her door felt colder than it should have been, a long stretch of quiet that did nothing to settle the pulse pounding beneath my skin. I pushed my wheelchair forward, my hands gripping the rims harder than necessary. Every turn reminded me of the image of Dr. Ford beside Daniel earlier. It should not have bothered me. It had no right to touch something raw inside my chest. Yet the moment I saw them together, something deep inside twisted in a way I could not explain without hating myself.Jealousy.It was quiet, unreasonable, unwelcome, and undeniable. I despised the feeling. I despised the fact that I could not fully explain why it was there. I despised myself for reacting to her, for wanting her attention even for a moment. She was here for one purpose and one purpose only: my recovery. She was meant to help me walk again, to rebuild my strength, to ensure the Alpha of this pack did not remain confined to a wheelchair longer than necessary. She

I laughed. Not a light laugh, not a gentle one. No. It burst out of me in a sharp, disbelieving sound that made Daniel blink in confusion.“Alpha Jaron?” I said, shaking my head as I wiped at the corner of my eye. “Don’t be ridiculous. That’s impossible.”Daniel crossed his arms, still grinning like he knew something I didn’t. “Why impossible?”“Because,” I exhaled heavily, turning away to put the clipboard down, “he doesn’t like me. He sees me as a flirt, a nuisance, a distraction. His words, not mine. And besides, he’s an Alpha. They don’t… they don’t just like people out of nowhere.”Daniel shrugged. “Sometimes they do.”I sighed, frustration bubbling beneath my ribs. “Daniel, if he looks at me, it’s because he’s annoyed. If he talks to me, it’s because he’s giving an order. If he glares at me, it’s because breathing apparently offends him.”Daniel laughed. “Yeah, but did you see him today? He wasn’t annoyed. Not the whole time. He was… looking at you. Really looking.”I stiffened

I froze. He had said I was “distracting,” and for a moment, neither of us moved. The word hovered between us like something forbidden, sharp enough to slice through the tension we had been drowning in.I inhaled slowly, forcing myself to focus. Focus on anything except the burn in my cheeks or the heavy silence wrapping around us.“I think,” I said, turning away before I reacted stupidly, “we better start the session instead of arguing about nonsense.”He did not immediately respond. I heard the faint creak of his wheelchair, the soft shift of his weight, and I could feel his stare drilling into my back. Finally, he spoke, voice deep and controlled.“Fine. If you insist.”Even in agreement, he sounded dominant and commanding, like the air itself obeyed him. I took a deep breath, centering myself before facing him again.“Let’s begin,” I said in the most professional tone I could manage. He nodded once, sharp and precise, and the argument dissolved into something quieter but no less in
