Blue's POV

I had just signed a billion dollar contract with Luca's friend, Jeremy Miles. The meeting with him the previous night had gone really well, and I could tell that he was really trying to sniff out Maverick. He was more than intrigued by my plan, and what we already have, that investing wasn't a problem for him.

Somehow, the contract binding happened just when Maverick had his next appearance, and I'm here clinking wine glasses with Jeremy and Luca.

“Drink up.” Luca smiled at me.

“Erm… I can't. I'm just not interested.” I said, pushing it off for water. I was feeling a little sick, but I could easily maintain my composure out here.

I feel horribly guilty about everything that happened with Maverick from the previous night. My phone beeped, and I looked at it to see a message from Peter.

“There was wolfsbane in Billy's body. He was filled with loads of it.” The text read, and all I could think of was how Maverick would be feeling.
