LOGINHaydn’s Pov
The moment I laid eyes on Bella, I knew there was something special between us. I couldn’t tear my gaze away from her.
Her black hair looked incredibly soft, and her rosy cheeks gave her an adorable look that made me want to reach out and touch them. Instead of the usual billowing dresses that most she-wolves wore, she had opted for trousers, giving her a sleek, confident appearance.
In the grand hall, I watched her mischievous eyes darting around, smiling at those she liked and becoming somber in the presence of those she disliked. For thirty years, I’d never been so captivated by a girl’s every move. She was simply delightful and intriguing.
Even though Bella didn’t wear a magical necklace, I just knew she was the mate I had been waiting for. My wolf, Aidan, was going wild in my head, trying to take control to approach her and get to meet Bella. But I couldn’t allow him to do that; Aidan was too impulsive and might frighten our mate.
On the following night at the banquet, I took great care to dress up and wear the magical necklace. I wanted to impress her. All I could think about was her, and I planned to find the matching necklace to present to her personally. The sooner, the better.
As night fell and the banquet hall lit up, I searched for Bella’s presence. I saw Alpha Logan, his wife, and their son, but Bella was nowhere to be found. My wolf started to agitate. Where had she gone?
I navigated through the crowd, trying to locate Bella. Ignoring the guests as I made my way through the crowd. In a corner on the balcony, I spotted a familiar figure. I was about to approach when I noticed she wasn’t alone. Beta Gray Norman from the Maple Pack was standing with her, and that annoying Gray seemed to be trying to charm my mate. He even leaned close to whisper something in her ear.
I felt a surge of anger and jealousy. I clenched my fists, itching to confront him. In fact, I was about to do just that when I saw Bella kick Gray. It was an unexpected twist, and it seemed that my mate could defend herself. My wolf swelled with pride.
I let out a laugh and followed Bella into the corridor and witnessed two other girls bullying her, attempting to summon soldiers to capture her. I couldn’t allow that to happen; they NEEDED to face consequences. How dared they?
“Slandering an innocent lady’s innocence is hardly commendable behavior.” I said icily.
“Your Majesty, this woman maliciously harmed my comrade. Please order the soldier to apprehend her,” Olivia said, mistakenly thinking that I was accusing Bella of wrongdoing.
On the other hand, Clara, upon seeing me, became smitten and gazed at me with adoration, hesitating to speak. I knew well the effect I have in most women.
“You’re lying,” Bella said, her fists clenched in anger.
These two malicious women were trying to distort the truth. I couldn’t let them succeed.
“Soldier, take these two individuals who falsely accused others and throw them into the dungeons.”
The commotion had already attracted a crowd. Everyone in the hallway was shocked.
“Why us? You should punish this wretch!” Clara’s sharp voice echoed in the corridor. She couldn’t believe my words. She thought I had been fooled when she faked being injured?
“I witnessed both of you attacking Bella first, and she was merely defending herself,” I said coldly, looking at the two women who didn’t know their place. My soldiers weren’t meant to be used like that.
“Your Majesty, I believe this is all a misunderstanding. We are friends with Bella, and we were just joking with her,” Olivia stammered, she didn’t expect I had witnessed everything.
I remained silent and turned to Bella.
Bella frowned, “A joke? I’ve never heard that making fun of someone would land them in jail. Olivia, Clara, I’m not your friend.”
“You wretch, how dare you treat us this way,” Clara said, preparing to slap Bella.
“Take them to the dungeons,” I immediately ordered, ensuring these two annoying troublemakers were removed from my sight before my wolf took matters on its own hands.
“Your Majesty, please don’t do this to us.” The women bellowed.
“Your Majesty, you can’t do this to us. We are Alphas’ daughters.” Olivia shrieked.
I ignored their pleas and turned my gaze to Bella.
“Are you okay?” I asked, my voice turning gentle.
“I’m fine. Thank you for coming to my rescue and clarifying things,” Bella thanked me looking relieved.
“Don’t mention it” I couldn’t help but move closer to Bella. There was a certain exquisite scent about her, and I wanted to be closer to her, to smell her neck.
My gaze traveled from her bright, dark eyes to her petite nose and her inviting lips. She looked stunning today in her moonlight-colored dress, appearing graceful and delicate, as if she were the earthly representation of the moon goddess.
Suddenly, my eyes fixed on the silver-white necklace around her slender neck. For the Moon Goddess, it was the Magic Necklace.
“Mate,” Aidan came out of my mind and took control of my body.
The word startled Bella. Her big beautiful eyes opened wide.
Aidan swooped closer to Bella, grabbed her shoulders, and sniffed at her neck. He stretched out his tongue to lick Bella’s ear, moved down inch by inch, and kissed Bella’s neck. Her breath hitched.
Bella’s POVAidan raised his massive wolf head and let out a deafening roar. Everyone present stared at him in shock and trembled with fear. He was enormous. Standing before him, we looked like nothing more than a buffet waiting to be devoured. And he was displaying three hundred percent of the intimidation and dominance that came from Haydn’s status as the King of Werewolves. He was the only king on this battlefield, and he would be the only winner.Aidan took massive strides toward Barnett, having already chosen him as his first target.Barnett gripped his sword, the veins on the back of his hand bulging as he trembled with fear. How was he supposed to fight a terrifying creature whose wolf form was three times larger than his own? He had stormed into the castle tonight full of confidence, believing he could take back everything he had lost. But now, it seemed his plan was impossible.“Big dog, I’m not afraid of you. Come!” Barnett barked. He raised his sword and charged, aiming str
Bella’s POVMy decision was met with unanimous opposition.“We can’t let you go out there and put yourself in danger.”“We can’t lose you.”“Luna, please stay here.”“Haydn needs me,” I said quietly. “The Moon Goddess is guiding me to my mate. I can’t let him face this alone.”I knew it was dangerous. But I also believed the Moon Goddess would never lead me astray. The urge to go to Haydn was growing stronger by the minute, becoming impossible to ignore.April remained silent, but I knew she agreed with me. We would stand beside our mate. We would face danger together.Mia gripped my hand tightly. She realized I was serious. That I wasn’t going to change my mind.In the werewolf world, mates were sacred. True mates never abandoned one another.“Then let me come with you,” Mia said, wiping away her tears. “I’ll help you find the King.”“I will, too.”“Me too, Luna.”“I’m coming with you.”Most of them were Omegas. Servants. Not warriors. That was exactly why I had gathered them here in
Bella’s POVTonight was the full moon. The night Haydn’s curse would be at its strongest. He hadn’t appeared once all day. He had remained in the dungeon from sunrise until now.Curled up in bed, I tossed and turned restlessly. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t sleep.A deep sense of unease lingered in my chest, refusing to let me find peace. My wolf, April, was restless too. I could feel her pacing endlessly inside my mind.“I want to see Haydn,” I broke the silence first.“It’ll be dangerous,” April replied immediately.“But I’m worried about him.”I climbed out of bed and pulled back the curtains. An impossibly bright full moon hung in the night sky.Would Haydn make it through tonight?I didn’t know. But I was sure about one thing. He needed his mate beside him.As I anxiously paced across the room, I noticed the book Haydn had left for me on the bedside table. I picked it up and hugged it against my chest.Somehow, it felt like holding a small piece of him.“Wait,” April sud
Bella’s POVI woke from a peaceful sleep wrapped in a strange sense of comfort. The gentle morning sunlight filtered through the windows, bathing the room in a soft golden glow. Everything felt warm, quiet, and safe.Still half asleep, I listened to the steady rhythm of my babies’ heartbeats and counted them one by one. They were strong and healthy. And somehow, in that hazy moment between sleep and wakefulness, I could almost feel their emotions. They were happy.Happy that I was paying attention to them.“Mommy loves you, little ones,” I whispered, resting a hand on my stomach. I tried to send that feeling of love to them. In return, I could almost imagine them laughing happily.A few moments later, the maids knocked softly and entered the room. They helped me get ready for the day and brought me a delicious breakfast. They were always thoughtful and attentive, taking excellent care of me.“Luna,” Mia said after breakfast, “there are swans on the lake west of the palace. Would you l
Olivia’s POV“It’s nice to see you’re still an asshole, Father.” I looked at Alpha Henry with open mockery. My bastard of a father.Alpha Henry had always seemed like a giant, an unbeatable force, in my eyes when I was growing up. He could do whatever he wanted to me. Even though I was his daughter, he showed me no mercy. He beat me, humiliated me, pulled my hair, and slapped me across the face. There was a time when, after drinking himself into a rage, he even left a ten-centimeter gash across my abdomen. He abandoned me in a pool of blood and left me there to die, as if he expected me to meet my mother in hell.I had no dignity in this pack. Everyone had witnessed those humiliating moments. The only time he had ever been gentle with me was one evening when he took out an old photograph of my mother and told me stories about her. That night, we even had dinner together.I thought he had changed.I thought he had finally realized that I was his only daughter and started acting like a
