Bella’s pov
The Next Day.
Tonight, the king was hosting a grand banquet, inviting members from various packs to attend. However, everyone knew that this was an opportunity for the king to choose a mate. King Haydn, at the age of thirty, had yet to find his mate, which had left the three council elders deeply concerned. They feared that the kingdom might remain without an heir, posing a threat to the stability of the Kingdom of Celestia.
"Honey, you should choose the red gown; it suits you perfectly," my mother insisted, doing her best to promote the dress. I knew she had always hoped I would mingle with eligible young suitors.
"Mom, I prefer the white one," I replied, not wanting to stand out too much. I actively chose a moon-white gown. In the mirror, a young woman with black hair and deep green eyes stared back at me, not as flashy but charming in my own way.
"At least wear this magical necklace," my mother took my unique Moonlight necklace from the wooden box and placed it around my neck. I didn't refuse, hoping that the necklace might bring me some luck and help me navigate tonight's banquet smoothly.
As I entered the banquet hall, I spotted two familiar faces—Clara Morris and Olivia Anderson—but I didn't particularly like either of them.
Clara Morris was Barnett's sister, and she had never been fond of me. She constantly tried to sow discord between Barnett and me, encouraging him to be with Theresa instead. Olivia Anderson was the daughter of the Alpha of the Maple Pack and had secretly harboured feelings for her pack's Beta, Gray Norman, who happened to be my first mate. Olivia held a deep grudge against me because she believed Gray was meant to be hers and didn't take kindly to my involvement with him. I never expected these two to become close friends.
I frowned, not wanting to interact with them. I avoided them and found my way to a small balcony. "Sorry, I didn't see that someone was here..." I began to apologize but stopped short when I realized that the person in the corner was Gray Norman.
I immediately turned to leave, but a strong grip on my wrist pulled me back.
"Are you so averse to seeing me?" Gray raised an eyebrow at me. He was the epitome of a handsome man, with black hair, blue eyes, and a tall, muscular frame that had undoubtedly captured the hearts of many women. He seemed to enjoy his popularity, changing girlfriends as often as he changed clothes.
"I don't understand what you mean," I said, puzzled. Why was he saying such things now, after rejecting me before? It was him who had let me down, turning me away. Why was he making these statements now?
Gray took a slow sip of his drink and moved closer, whispering in my ear, "I heard you rejected Barnett."
His warm breath sent shivers down my spine, and I pulled away immediately.
"It's none of your business," I retorted, shooting him a defiant look. Gray's blue eyes locked onto mine. "You're single now, and so am I. Why not consider giving us a chance?"
I couldn't help but almost burst into laughter. This guy had once rejected me, and now he was hypocritically trying to win me over. Was this some kind of trendy prank these days? And did I really look like a fool?
"Do you think I'm foolish enough to believe your nonsense?" I said with a cold smile. "My memory is excellent, and I haven't forgotten how you turned me down two years ago."
Gray fell silent for a moment. He had indeed rejected Bella back then, thinking he wasn't ready to settle down and start a family. But after rejecting Bella, he found himself dreaming of her every night and couldn't help but pay attention to her whenever he heard news about her. When he learned that Bella was with Barnett, it filled him with jealousy and uncontrollable anger. Upon hearing about Bella and Barnett's engagement, he had even smashed a table in frustration, contemplating crashing the wedding.
"I'm truly sorry," Gray hesitated and continued, "but I'm serious. I believe the bond between us still exists." Gray had stopped getting involved with other women; every time he tried to do something in bed, Bella's face would appear before him, making his once-enthusiastic bedroom activities feel tasteless.
"Really? I haven't felt a thing," I replied dismissively, no longer paying attention to him. I turned and pushed past him, heading away.
"Bella, don't leave. Please..." Gray reached out to grab me again, but I skillfully avoided him and gave him a sharp kick. Seeing Gray hunched over in pain, clutching his stomach, I felt a sense of satisfaction; this was exactly what he deserved.
I quickened my pace to distance myself from Gray and found myself in a corridor. But one problem seemed to replace another. Clara and Olivia were unexpectedly here as well.
"Well, well, well, look who we have here," Clara, in a red dress, blocked my path. "Just broke up with my brother, and now you're cosying up to another man." It seemed they had seen me with Gray earlier, and now they were deliberately cornering me.
"Do you not know that pursuing someone else's boyfriend is a shameful act?" Olivia chimed in, her face dark with anger. She hadn't expected Gray to still be interested in Bella. She was seething with jealousy.
"You two shouldn't jump to conclusions," I retorted, not hiding my annoyance. "As far as I know, Gray has never publicly declared that he has a girlfriend." Olivia's face changed suddenly; she had always claimed to be Gray's girlfriend, even though Gray had never officially acknowledged her.
"Do you dare to talk back?" Clara attempted to slap me, but I grabbed her raised hand and forcefully pushed it away.
"Ah! My hand!" Clara screamed, clutching her injured hand and falling to the ground.
"Clara, are you all right?" Olivia helped Clara to her feet. "This is the king's banquet, and you dare to act so recklessly. Guards, guards, someone here is intentionally causing harm; seize her!"
Olivia astonishingly turned the tables and accused me.
Thud, thud, thud, the soldiers' footsteps approached. I needed to find a way to prove my innocence.
"What's going on?" A stern soldier inquired.
"She injured my friend," Olivia pointed at me, a smug smile on her face.
"She was the one who tried to strike me first; I was merely defending myself," I retorted boldly.
The soldier looked left and right, struggling to make a decision. Just then, a familiar voice suddenly chimed in.
"Slandering an innocent lady's innocence is hardly commendable behavior."
Haydn's PovThe moment I laid eyes on Bella, I knew there was something special between us. I couldn't tear my gaze away from her.Her black hair looked incredibly soft, and her rosy cheeks had a touch of sweetness that made me want to reach out and touch them. Instead of the usual billowing dresses that most she-wolves wore, she had opted for trousers, giving her a sleek, confident appearance. In the grand hall, I watched as her mischievous eyes darted around, smiling at those she liked and becoming sombre in the presence of those she disliked. For thirty years, I'd never been so captivated by a girl's every move.Even though Bella didn't wear a magical necklace, I just knew she was the mate I had been waiting for. My wolf, Aidan, was going wild in my head, trying to take control to meet Bella. But I couldn't allow him to do that; Aidan was too impulsive and might frighten our mate.On the following night at the banquet, I took great care to dress up and wear the magical necklace. I
Bella’s PovApril (my wolf): Have you sensed anything?Me: April, you've finally shown up!My wolf, April, hadn't spoken in a long time. Sometimes, I even felt like she was a mute wolf. In fact, she had always been a somewhat peculiar wolf. She didn't like my first mate, Gray, and she didn't like my second mate, Barnett. Compared to other wolves, she seemed to lack the passion for a destined mate.Me: April, is King Haydn really our mate? I can't feel the bond.April: I think it is so.Me: Then why can't I feel anything?April: The problem is within you.Me: What do you mean?April: Bella, you might not have noticed that you closed off your heart. Ever since Gray and Barnett betrayed you, you no longer believe in love, and you've shut down your heart's bond connection. So, even if the bond exists, you can't feel it.Me: How can I reopen the bond link?April: Trying to trust and love Haydn is the only way for you to find happiness.Me: Can I?My heart felt anxious and worried. I believ
The Third Person’s PovThree Days LaterSlap!Henry Anderson, the Alpha of the Maple Pack, angrily slapped Olivia. "You're bringing shame upon me."Olivia clutched her swollen cheek and couldn't utter a word. Just this morning, she and Clara had been released from the cell. But her father's first words upon seeing her weren't words of concern; instead, they were filled with blame and humiliation."It's because of you that your mother couldn't give birth to a son and died early. And now you're ruining your own reputation, preventing yourself from marrying into a powerful pack." Henry's wife had passed away many years ago, leaving him with only Olivia as a daughter. But he treated Olivia poorly, subjecting her to physical abuse. He needed a son to inherit his alpha position, not a seemingly worthless daughter. It was ironic to Olivia that her father had had numerous affairs over the years, and not one woman could give him the son he so desired. He attributed the blame to Olivia, intendi
Bella’s PovKnock! Knock! Knock!I was awakened by the annoying sound of knocking, my consciousness not fully clear. Glancing at the alarm clock, I discovered it was only six o'clock in the morning. Who on earth was so inconsiderate to disturb my sleep? Don't they know that disrupting someone's peaceful slumber is incredibly impolite?"Who is it?" I groggily inquired."It's me." I found it highly unusual for Haydn to show up at my door so early in the morning."I am coming." Haydn's handsome face came into view as I opened the door, and I couldn't help but be taken aback by his striking appearance. His perfectly combed black hair sharply contrasted with his chiseled features. His strong jawline and high cheekbones exuded an air of authority.Haydn's brown eyes, while serious in expression, held a warmth uncommon for someone in his line of work. They were like deep pools of chocolate, drawing you in with an irresistible intensity.Dressed in a black military uniform, he stood tall and
I felt Haydn's gentle kiss fall on my forehead, then slide down to my lips and my neck. We tore at each other's clothes. His hands touched my breasts and rubbed them hard. Then, his kiss was no longer gentle but became a little hasty and violent. The clothes were quickly torn off and we were finally naked. Haydn's lips bit my breasts lightly, sucking them hard, making a slurping sound. A strange feeling rose from my belly. I moaned as the sweet juices wet my vagina. This aroused Haydn's deeper desires. He turned to bite my nipples hard, and soon my nipples became swollen and big like bright cherries. The stinging pain from the bite made me want to resist but I also wanted more. My lower body felt even more empty. I stretched out my hands to push Haydn's head away, but he restrained them with his left hand. Then, I saw his wet and hot tongue licking my breasts, my chest, my abdomen, and finally resting on the lips of my vagina. Haydn spread my legs, completely exposing my private par
Bella’s povI frowned, not wanting to pay any attention to Theresa. However, she seemed insistent on bothering me."Look who it is. It's our esteemed Red Moon Pack Alpha's daughter, Bella. But our dear Bella has been dumped twice, becoming unwanted damaged goods. Hahaha," Theresa sarcastically remarked. She envied Bella for being born into a privileged position, whereas Theresa had to climb her way up step by step."Theresa, I advise you to show some respect in your words. Even if you become Barnett's Luna, you have no right to meddle in my affairs," I said coldly, staring at her.As soon as Theresa heard this, she became infuriated. "You bitch, how dare you lecture me!" She raised her hand to slap me.I grabbed her raised wrist, holding it firmly. "Enough!"Theresa struggled to free her wrist but couldn't match my strength. "Theresa, I warn you, don't act recklessly in front of me, or I'll make you pay."A hint of fear appeared on Theresa's face, her teeth biting down on her lip. But
Bella’s pov The dungeon was dark, with only a small window letting in a sliver of sunlight. I sat by the window, soaking in the precious sunlight. I had been locked away for a day and a night, with no one coming to see me, not even bringing food or water. Did they intend to starve me or let me die of thirst? It was truly despicable. From start to finish, I was convicted too easily, too quickly. I didn’t want to die, I didn’t want to be wrongly accused and lose my life in vain. My father and brothers were still fighting bloody battles on the border, and I hadn’t waited for Haydn to come back and tell him that I loved him. April: Bella, are you okay? Me: Yeah, I am okay. How about you? April: (depressed, lying down) No, I am not okay. Me: Hmm... let me tell you a joke. April: What joke? Me: We're still alive. April: Is that it? What kind of joke is that? April angrily scratched the ground with her two front paws. Me: Haha, April, you don't look cute sighing with your head
Haydn’s povHaving repelled a wave of rogues, the night grew darker, and my soldiers and I took a temporary rest in a town.About twenty to thirty rogues were causing havoc at the border this time. We managed to eliminate more than half of them, with only four or five escaping. In another day or two, we would be able to return to the royal city."Your Majesty, many townspeople here are injured. What should we do?" Logan Brown sought the king's advice."Distribute some of the potions we brought to them," I said after some thought. In the Celestia Kingdom, werewolves' injuries were treated with potions. We brought a batch of healing potions on this border expedition, but despite my anticipation of providing some to the injured civilians, the number of casualties surpassed expectations, and the potions were running low."Your Majesty, we've already allocated a batch of potions to the injured. If we distribute another batch..." Logan hesitated. There were still a few rogues at large, and
