Chapter 6
Silas Deane
“Inform the queen mother of the presence of the Alpha.” My beta informed the guards who were standing and watching the chamber.
“But the queen mother said she doesn't want to be disturbed by anyone.” One of the guards stuttered in fear while shivering underneath.
All this while, I stood in silence while trying to mind link her but she kept shutting me off. My patient was running off, I just needed to speak to her. I needed to know why on earth she had chosen to bring our enemy's daughter, just why?!
“Guards, throw him into the lion's den!” I ordered coldly and the guard was dragged out.
Without wasting much time, I barged into the room only to see her enjoying her daily routine. She has always enjoyed being massaged by the servants and upon entering the room, I witnessed that again.
“Is this why you have been cutting off our mind link, mother?” I asked coldly, grabbing the attention of the servants, who instantly bowed respectfully to me.
“Leave!” I ordered coldly and then hurriedly made their way out.
“Son, you know I hate being disturbed whenever I am getting a massage. You know it's for calming my heart.” She said but that's not why I was here.
“Why is there someone from the Midnight pack here? And why did you order the city gate to be opened for her if you never invited their pack?” I questioned with no expression on my face as I stood backing her.
“Son, I can explain.”
“Mother, speak up! I need nothing but the truth.”
“If anyone doesn't remember, I am sure you and I are very aware that Midnight packs are the main reasons for my father's death and the downfall of our pack!” I thundered coldly before turning around to look at her.
I believe she's more aware of the whole situation than any other person. If not for Alpha Jayden going back on his word years ago. Maybe if he had sent out the troops like he and my father agreed on without shredding the plan, my father and some of the pack members might be alive now.
I expected my mother to understand better, I thought she had understood my thirst to get revenge on each and every one of them, but her recent actions prove otherwise.
“Son, this is the letter between Alpha Jayden and I. Take it and go through it and I shall accept any punishment from you, son.” She beckoned the letter to me but I didn't spare a glance.
I felt nothing but hatred for the fact that he dared to exchange letters with my mother right under my nose. Since I didn't collect the letter, my Beta rushed forward and took the letter.
“Alpha, should I read it out?”
“Read it!” I thundered coldly before turning around as I waited for the letter to be ready out but there was nothing. “Alpha, I think you need to read the letter yourself. It's concerning your brother,” he said, gripping my attention instantly, so I immediately turned around and took the letter..
I glared at him before collecting the letter from him and immediately skimmed through it.
I know Shadow Pack holds a big grudge against my pack, Midnight Pack. But I hope we can put the past aside and look forward to the future. I figured out that my daughter, Seraphim, will be able to remove the curse on your second son, Queen Mother. But that'll depend on whether Shadow Pack is willing to put aside the feud between the two packs and, in return, marry my first daughter, Seraphim, to your first son, Alpha Silas, and also save your second son. Isn't that a good suggestion, killing two birds with one stone? Do write back to me, Queen Mother.
I clenched my fist tightly, boiling with rage, and instantly punched the wall, creating a big hole in the wall, which led to my mom whimpering in fear. The fact that all this happened right under my nose and yet I never for once took notice of it was enough to make my blood boil more.
“Son, calm down. I did it because of your brother. No mother will be happy to watch her son being affected by a strange curse,” she said, but that only annoys me more.
“Mother, don't you still get it? Have you forgotten how Alpha Jayden betrayed my father? He went against his words. What makes you think he won't go against his words again?”
“This man is nothing but an old cunning man who wouldn't hesitate to do anything until he achieved his aims. Who knows what his aim could be, mother?” I asked as I began walking towards my mother who was standing not too far from me.
“What if he truly figured out a way to remove your brother's curse? Don't you want him to recover his human form rather than being in that phoenix form?”
“Mother, I want to save him and I have been searching around the whole world to remove the curse. Why do you have to go behind my back to the extent of working with an Alpha who led to the death of your husband?”
“You! How dare you blame me? I want to save my son and it's not too much to ask for. And besides, if he doesn't have a way to get rid of the curse, he wouldn't have been able to come up with that idea just like that, son!”
“Mother, I know you want to save him. I know how eager you are to save him and I want to save my brother too. But what about our clan members too? Shouldn't we save them too?”
Report!
I was about to speak out when I suddenly got interrupted diverting my attention from what I was about to say.
“Alpha, lunar brother is nowhere to be found and the whole pack has been searched,” the guard said, and almost immediately, my mother and I looked towards the guards with an unbelievable expression.
For a moment, the news shook my whole body system. He had always stayed inside his chamber and he rarely left. But now, his phoenix body is nowhere to be found.
“My son! You see, this is one of the reasons why I won't hesitate to save my son even if it means making an enemy a friend,” she cried out while I could only be rendered speechless.
“Mother, you should stay in your room and wait for the good news,” I said, hoping she had stopped getting unnecessarily anxious, but she was unable to hold her emotions.

SERAPHIM
The moment I stepped inside the room, my nanny's face dilated in shock, probably because she must have lost hope of my return. She dashed towards me, pulling me in a tight hug, almost suffocating me.
I could endure being suffocated for a while, but what about the injured phoenix? I had to disengage from the hug after some time.
“I was so worried about you, Miss?” she lamented while I rubbed her face tenderly.
“But I thought I told you to leave the moment you didn't see me? What if I were killed and they wanted to kill all our pack members? Is this how you'll wait for death, Nanny?” I asked, getting emotional.
Who on earth waits for death? I had told her to leave as soon as I didn't return early from the hall but here she was waiting for me.
“I heard some people saying," How dare they say someone from the Midnight pack?”
“How dare she court her death by herself by coming to the bride selection. I thought maybe something had happened, but I just had to stay at the window side, hoping you'd return soon. And here you are, Miss.”
“It's okay, Nanny. Something did happen but luckily it was solved already.” I said when the phoenix made a loud sound catching my nanny by surprise as she wondered where the sound could have come from.
“What's that sound, Miss?” she asked, bringing my attention to what I had wrapped in with my robe while holding it dearly.
“I saved an injured phoenix. I think it needs more treatment, please check on it.” I said as I quickly removed the rope I had used to wrap up the phoenix in my chest.
“Miss, do you think it's safe to bring it back alongside you? What if its owners are looking for it? And besides we're visitors here, it's a risky move.” My nanny said worriedly.
I had thought about it before bringing the phoenix but thinking about saving a life. I think the consequence can come later. At least I got to save it.
“Don't worry, let's save the phoenix. I'll return it to the same place I took it fr

Startled, Olivia turned around and sighed in relief upon seeing the person, it was no other person than her best friend, Annie.“Annie, you scared the hell out of me.” She muttered, reliving a sigh of relief in the air. “What are you thinking about? Besides, Olivia, I thought we agreed to wait for me at the entrance. I can't believe you left before my arrival.” Annie pouted sadly as she looked at the empty seat beside her best friend. “I know it might sound like a lie. But I tried to wait for you but I wasn't expecting to see our classmates at the entrance. She directed me here,” Olivia said calmly with her puppy look.Even though Annie was a bit angry, upon seeing the puppy look at Olivia, her anger melted and instantly changed to a giggle from both ends. By the time you'll be reading this message, I'll be at the airport then.” I clenched my fist as I read the message Audrey had sent to me. I couldn't believe my eyes as I read the message while trying my best to stay composed as I could. “Master, what's your next plan?”“Madam is still waiting for your wife on the hospital bed, master,” Tony said to me but I couldn't bring myself to say anything, I was still trying to recover from the shock. I have never thought a day would come when my girlfriend, whom I cherish dearly, would choose her career over me and even leave me stranded on our wedding day. I could have supported her if I had known she still had plans to pursue her dreams.I could only keep mute with a cold expression on. “Master, we might still be able to catch up with Miss Audrey at the

Chapter 28Nanny Janet Everyone among the female guests has returned except my Miss. I have stood guard at the entrance of the door just to make sure I would see her faster to ease my worrisome look. The more I stand guard at the door, the darker it gets. I could only pace to and fro not knowing what to do. It got to a stage where I couldn't endure it anymore, and I could only think of what to do, and decided on the other guest. I figured out that they would be in the dining room meant for the guests. There has always been a dining room for all the female guests who came for the bride selection, but my lady has chosen to eat inside her room instead. Maybe that was the reason she never made a single friend. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, and I found myself standing a few inches away from the dining room. I could hear them giggling among themselves with some of their maids standing guard outside. I mustered up courage and made my way towards the entrance but I was instant
Julianne “Mister, I don't know if you need a bride?” I mustered to say but the man only looked cold without any expression on his face. For a second, I thought if I was making the right decision, but thinking about it once again, I believed in it as much as I wouldn't end up with Ethan. Then any choice made is the best. The man in front of me looked aloof and cold. He looks as if he does at me like some strange crazy woman. It was as if he never believed he would ever encounter a shameless person like her.And that's a little bit understandable because who on earth goes around asking if he or she needs a bride or groom? Only me! Since the man wasn't making any attempt to speak, instead of making another fool of myself, I turned around and made to leave. “Let's get it done!” His cold voice echoed right into my ears, making me stunned as I turned back to look at the man with an unbelievable expression. “Do you mean it, Mister?” I asked, my eyes beaming with happiness. It was as if
