Chapter 4
SILAS DEANE
I stood at the corner of the hall, staring closely at every one of them. My thoughts were far away in search of her among the damn crowds. But no matter the search, she's nowhere to be found.
I was on the brink of giving up when my Beta, Tony suggested the hunt for a bride selection from different packs across the universe. And thinking about that, I think that was a perfect option for my search.
“Alpha..” I heard my Beta - Tony's voice behind me, he sounded anxious with big fear as he called my attention. I could feel how anxious he was despite backing him.
“Speak up, Tony!” I ordered coldly, I hated one to be anxious or show their vulnerable side which he is much aware of.
He cleared his throat, “Alpha, we've seen someone who looks exactly like her in the selection. There's no difference but…”
“But what?!” I thundered furiously as I turned around gripping his collar with nothing but anger boiling furiously in me.
Tony didn't flinch, and neither was he taken aback by my sudden attack. “Alpha, we don't know whether they're the same person or maybe they just look alike. But the most important part is that she's the daughter of our enemy's pack.”
“Whose daughter is she?” I asked letting go of him as my anger subsided a little bit.
“She's the daughter of Alpha Jayden from Midnight Pack.” He muttered, avoiding my gaze.
I wasn't aware of the fact that someone from Midnight Pack was invited, and now she bears a striking resemblance to someone dear to me. “Does Alpha Jayden have a death wish?”
“Who invited someone from Midnight pack?” I asked as I believe everyone who holds any authority or power is aware of the fact that midnight pack is the next pack I plan on invading any time soon.
“Madam sent out an invite to midnight pack due to reasons known to her. She ordered the city gate to be opened for them.” My Beta - Tony said, making me more furious that all this happened right behind my back.
“Kill her!” I ordered coldly.
“What, Alpha? You mean I should kill her?” Tony asked with a shaky breath which was unusual for him to behave in such a manner.
“Don't worry, I'll do that myself. I'll have her head sent to her father! How dare he court death for his daughter, huh!”
SERAPHIM
I kept my head down trying to blend among the crowd, my heart pounding heavily in my chest. Every one of the ladies was whispering among themselves while some were vying for attention. They were all here to be chosen by the Alpha which says the competition would be chaotic.
Their giggles only annoy the heck outta me, but I held my emotions because the least I wanted was getting any unnecessary attention. At least, for now, I don't think I need any attention.
“Oops, that's not Alpha Silas,” a girl beside me said with a frustrated voice.
“The person coming seems feminine.” Another person chirped in
I followed the direction everyone was looking and my gaze landed on the lady approaching slowly, it was as if she was measuring her footsteps as she made her way towards the crowd.
Her heels echoed on the marble floor, her steps spoke confidence. She was tall, pretty, sexy, and had a model aura. In all, her beauty is enough to awe the masses. She stood on her track, her eyes roaming around everyone like a queen of the most high.
“That's Michelle, the Alpha's bratty sister,” someone whispered to a lady not too far from me.
“ She's very bitchy and commanding. Rumors have it that she always makes her slaves' lives a living hell”
“Why would she not be bratty? She's royalty, and her brother, Alpha Silas, doted on her.” Another one said.
“But why is she here?”
“Did Alpha Silas send her here on his behalf?”
They began mummuring among each other while I took my time to note the important parts in their words. Who knows if it could be useful for me?
The murmurs died down when she began walking towards me. Luckily, she stopped a few inches away from me. As if on a cue, Michelle stopped right in front of a girl, who looked pretty but not attractive. But at least she's okay even though her height failed her woefully.
“What's that granny dress you are putting on?” Michelle asked, and everyone burst into rounds of laughter. To be sincere, the girl had a granny dress on.
“My grandmother gave it to me as a gift. She said it was given to her by her husband, so she decided to give it to me as she hoped I would get chosen.” She said, deepening everyone's laughter.
I sigh because I do not find it in any way funny. I believe it was bold of her to cherish her grandma’s gift to the extent of wearing it here.
“Guards, throw her out. She's eliminated!” She announced coldly, and almost immediately, the guards rushed inside and had the girl dragged out.
She tried pleading, but all her cries fell on deaf ears. I could only gulp down nothing as everything happened so fast that I almost couldn't digest it.
By now, everyone was trying to hide themselves from her but since I wasn't far from her, I could only stay still while praying for good luck.
I thought it had come to an end, but she moved to someone else. “You! What's that flashy color? Did your grandma also gift you that?” she asked arrogantly with her hands on her hips.
The girl was shivering with fear, she was unable to say a thing. The air grew heavy with tension. No one was willing to speak for the girl out of fear. But if no one dares speak, is that how everyone will get eliminated just because of the choice of dressing?
I clenched my fist tightly, I have always known and understood the pain of being bullied and being a laughing stock among others. And with that, I won't sit still and watch her bully another person.
“This looks cheap. It looks like something my maid would wear,” she said, pulling the dress on the girl, making her feel more intimidated.
“Enough, Michelle!”
My voice rang out, diverting everyone's attention to me, and they all looked shocked beyond words. They must be thinking where I had gotten the audacity to stop Michelle, of all people, and what it could lead to me getting eliminated.
Michelle looked shocked, of course, she would. She wasn't expecting anyone to publicly call her out. Her gaze settled on me, and she seemed taken aback. The look on her face was like she had seen a ghost.
“You….” She stuttered in shock stepping closer. Her gaze began checking every inch of me from my head to my toes, making me curious. “How could you be here….. wait.. you're alive?”
“What's going on here?” A muscular voice echoed diverting everyone's attention. I followed the voice and it landed on the two men at the entrance of the Hall.
“That's Alpha Silas!”
“He looks manly and hot!”
“That's his beta besides him! If I can't have the Alpha, I wouldn't mind having his handsome Beta”
“Disgusting set of ladies!” I thought to myself before my mind went back to Michelle's unfinished words. “What does she mean by Am I alive? Does she want me to die before?”
I didn't dwell much on her words; rather, I focused my attention on the two men who were in the spotlight, and I almost couldn't figure out the Alpha among the two men, but I noticed one seemed to radiate an aura of power and confidence; his presence seemed commanding without even trying.
His broad shoulders and chiseled features seemed to draw me in, and his piercing gaze made me feel like he could see right through me. The way he moved was almost hypnotic, his deliberate strides eating up the distance with an air of authority.
Without much thought, I figured out he's the so-called Alpha Silas who wouldn't hesitate to have anyone's head rolling on the ground.
The other man, whom I figured out to be his beta, handsome in his way, seemed too pale in comparison to the alpha's magnetic presence. He was confident, yes, but there was something about the way he deferred to the other man that made me sense a subtle hierarchy.
Despite the distance between us, I felt a shiver run down my spine as our eyes met briefly. For a moment, I was lost because this man had his whole attention on me or am I overthinking?
Those stare! His gaze everything were on me!
It was as if he were coming for me. Even though we were inches away, his eyes were thoroughly focused on me or was I thinking too much? By now, I was filled up with sweat streaming down my forehead.
“His he coming for me.” I thought to myself with my eyes closed as I waited for whatever was going to happen to me.
Startled, Olivia turned around and sighed in relief upon seeing the person, it was no other person than her best friend, Annie.“Annie, you scared the hell out of me.” She muttered, reliving a sigh of relief in the air. “What are you thinking about? Besides, Olivia, I thought we agreed to wait for me at the entrance. I can't believe you left before my arrival.” Annie pouted sadly as she looked at the empty seat beside her best friend. “I know it might sound like a lie. But I tried to wait for you but I wasn't expecting to see our classmates at the entrance. She directed me here,” Olivia said calmly with her puppy look.Even though Annie was a bit angry, upon seeing the puppy look at Olivia, her anger melted and instantly changed to a giggle from both ends. By the time you'll be reading this message, I'll be at the airport then.” I clenched my fist as I read the message Audrey had sent to me. I couldn't believe my eyes as I read the message while trying my best to stay composed as I could. “Master, what's your next plan?”“Madam is still waiting for your wife on the hospital bed, master,” Tony said to me but I couldn't bring myself to say anything, I was still trying to recover from the shock. I have never thought a day would come when my girlfriend, whom I cherish dearly, would choose her career over me and even leave me stranded on our wedding day. I could have supported her if I had known she still had plans to pursue her dreams.I could only keep mute with a cold expression on. “Master, we might still be able to catch up with Miss Audrey at the

Chapter 28Nanny Janet Everyone among the female guests has returned except my Miss. I have stood guard at the entrance of the door just to make sure I would see her faster to ease my worrisome look. The more I stand guard at the door, the darker it gets. I could only pace to and fro not knowing what to do. It got to a stage where I couldn't endure it anymore, and I could only think of what to do, and decided on the other guest. I figured out that they would be in the dining room meant for the guests. There has always been a dining room for all the female guests who came for the bride selection, but my lady has chosen to eat inside her room instead. Maybe that was the reason she never made a single friend. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, and I found myself standing a few inches away from the dining room. I could hear them giggling among themselves with some of their maids standing guard outside. I mustered up courage and made my way towards the entrance but I was instant
Julianne “Mister, I don't know if you need a bride?” I mustered to say but the man only looked cold without any expression on his face. For a second, I thought if I was making the right decision, but thinking about it once again, I believed in it as much as I wouldn't end up with Ethan. Then any choice made is the best. The man in front of me looked aloof and cold. He looks as if he does at me like some strange crazy woman. It was as if he never believed he would ever encounter a shameless person like her.And that's a little bit understandable because who on earth goes around asking if he or she needs a bride or groom? Only me! Since the man wasn't making any attempt to speak, instead of making another fool of myself, I turned around and made to leave. “Let's get it done!” His cold voice echoed right into my ears, making me stunned as I turned back to look at the man with an unbelievable expression. “Do you mean it, Mister?” I asked, my eyes beaming with happiness. It was as if
