The Alpha Godfather

Sarah Park begged the hospital to admit her mother for urgent operation or her mother dies. They did but after she asked the hospital staff how much she would pay for the operation, she was dismayed. Even if she works very hard her whole life, she won't be able to earn that amount. She was in the hospital hallway thinking what to do to come up with that amount when the doctor approached her. He's done checking on her mother.

"Ms. Park, I'm sorry but your mother needs to be operated on as soonest time possible."

Operation? Money? Those two are like twins. Where on earth will she get that amount? Even if she sells everything that she has including her body, she won't come up with that amount.

"Ms. Park, are you okay?"

With a blank stare, "Yes doctor. I'll see what I can do to come up with the money needed for my mother's operation."

The doctor nodded.

"I'm sorry Ms. Park, I have to rush to my next patient." The doctor said before he rushes off.

Sara sighed.

There is nothing good in her life right now. She was in that position when her phone beeped; an SMS from her online bank popped up. She absentmindedly opened the message but knowing it was not going to help her right now; she did not bother to read. She knows she only has 5 dollars in her account.

"Ms. Park, did you come up with the amount already?" Jimmy said out of nowhere. Sarah was surprised to see him there, but she's more surprised to know he knows she's in dire need of money. "I can help you. I work in a bank, you know that. I can help you get a loan, if you want me to." Jimmy goes on to say, ignoring that look on Sarah's face.

"Jimmy, how did you... " Sarah finally said something, but Jimmy interrupted her.

"I'm not being nosey; I only happen to hear you talk to the doctor."

Sarah stares at him for seconds as if she's looking for the truth in his face. "I... I don't know what to say. But any help is accepted, I'm desperate. Do you really think I can loan?"

"Of course, you can!" Don't worry about it. Just drop by my office." Jimmy guarantees.

"Jimmy, I don't know how to thank you..."

The latter smiles.

"Don't thank me yet. You can thank me later." He says with a wink.

Sarah winced. She's aware Jimmy likes her, more than friends, but she likes him as a friend no more no less.

"By the way, what are you doing here? Are you stalking me?"

The former laughs. "Nah, don't patronize yourself. I'm here to help my grandmother. She will be discharged this morning."

Sarah is suddenly concerned with Jimmy's granny.

"I did not know your grandma was brought here. What happened to her?" Her sarcastic tone has now changed to worry.

"No worries. Granny is going home now. So, remember to drop by my office this afternoon?"

"That's a relief!" Sarah closes her eyes as she takes a deep breath. "I'll see you this afternoon then. You know I need the money badly so I hope my loan will be approved ASAP."

"I'm sure, it will. I'll see you then."

"Explain!"

A masculine voice echoes in the almost empty room. He is dressed in a black suit as he talks to a man who bows to him.

"Boss, I made a big mistake. But I will solve this... Forgive me... Boss... " The man whose head remains bowed said, he made sure not to make eye contact to the big boss.

When Don sneered, the man tremble in fear. He knows very well what the Mafia boss is capable of.

"If you don't return the money to me by sundown, all your fingers will be cut. Then tomorrow, I'll cut your entire hand till there is nothing left of you!"

"Yes boss... " The man answered with a trembling voice.

"Get out and tell that next mortal to report to me now." The big boss said in his calm voice but firm enough to shake the man in front of him.

"Y.. Yyes boss."

The man sounds relieved to go but is still shaken, obviously. Not long, another man enters the room. They call him "The Collector" and just like the other man his knees were shaking.

"Boss, I have collected all the interests. A total of twenty million this month."

"Where's the rest?"

"Boss?"

"Why are you shaking?"

"I am not, boss!"

"Then tell me where is the rest of my money? Do you think I'm dumb?"

"No, of course not boss. I am telling you the truth, that's all that I collected for this month. The Sun's failed to pay but they promised to pay within this week, boss.. " The man stutters as he does his best to explain.

"You're a failure Gaston!"

"Boss..."

"Kneel!"

"But boss..."

"I don't repeat myself!"

The man decided to just kneel as his knees are trembling anyway. What does the big boss plan to do to him? He better start praying his knees are intact when he leaves the big boss' office. Last time he has difficulty walking the next day after the big boss asked him to kneel for an hour as he repeatedly asked the same question. It's plain torture to his brain as it's out of his control if people don't pay Don on time. But being the big boss that he is, he doesn't see it that way, he thinks Gaston is a failure for not doing his job properly.

All those are not hidden from the prying eyes in that room, someone who knew the big boss very well.

Don Chavis aka The Don who is the big boss of the Mafia has a past. He may be dangerous and powerful now but to the prying eyes, everything is but a bluff. Don Chavis' real name is Alpha Adam, he was a coward Alpha. Humans may fear him or adore him for his power, but in Grass' eyes, he is nothing but a coward.

Grass was Alpha Adam's Beta before Alpha Adam left the pack to live among humans. He lives now as Don, the big boss of the Mafia; some refer to him as the Godfather but behind all that quote-impressive title is a disgraced Alpha who runs away from its own pack. What Alpha would do that? Only an Alpha who feels incapable of doing its duties will!

Grass sneaked a few times into this office but Alpha Adam did not feel his presence which convinced him the Alpha doesn't have his wolf yet. But will the pack wait for him forever? Someone has to ascend as a leader of the pack, the next blood moon is coming up. The pack will demand an Alpha to lead them but so long as Alpha Adam is alive, no member of the pack dares to ascend, the only way is to kill the absentee Alpha who is in this very room! Besides, he is not a good boss after all...

No one will miss him!
