I stand outside of Alexander's office with my hands sweating. I wipe them on the skirt of my maid's uniform over and over again. Staring at the dark wood door I try to think of all of the reasons that I could have been in his room without him this morning. I am sure that Raphael has already told him I was in there. I raise my hand to knock on the door but before my hand hits the door Alexander's voice rings out loudly. "Are you going to stand there forever or come inside?" There is a gruffness to his voice but also a hint of humor.Gripping the cold door knob I slowly turn the knob and walk inside. As I walk in the door Alexander is sitting with his feet propped up on his desk. His hands are lazily placed behind his head as he watches me intently with his crystal blue eyes. "You wanted to see me, Your Highness?" I say baring my neck to him in submission. "Your scent gives you away," he says with a grin on his lips. "You smell like chocolate cake." I cannot help but smile
**Indicates a Dream****I gaze at my reflection in the mirror. I barely recognize the woman that is staring back at me. Earlier today I was in my maid's uniform cleaning the King's dirty laundry and now I am standing in a custom made gown. Alexander has chosen a deep emerald green dress for me to wear tonight. He said that it compliments my eyes perfectly. The dress clings tightly to my body, accentuating all of my curves perfectly. My dark hair falls in loopy waves down my back. I look down at the feather masquerade mask that sits on the dresser beside me. A knock on the door brings me out of my trance. I turn to see Alexander walking into the room in an black tux with an emerald green vest and tie that matches my dress perfectly. "I thought that we could match each other," he says cheerfully as he approaches me. "I brought you a present," he says sweetly. He pulls a velvet box out of his pocket and smiles brightly at me. "Close your eyes and turn around." My eyes wid
Victor wraps his arms around me tightly and I lean back comfortably in his arms. He nuzzles his nose into my neck and lets out a low rumble of a growl. "He touched you," he says angrily. Forgetting my nakedness, I spin myself around and look deeply into his bright blue eyes. "It isn't what you think," I tell him quickly. "It was not that kind of touch."Victor's eyes never stray from my own as they swirl from blue to silver and back again. "He touched you," he growls again. "Mine," his voice sounds gruff and mean. He wraps his arms back around me. He nuzzles his nose back in my neck and I can feel his canines lengthen against my neck. "Victor," I gasp out because he is holding me so tightly. "Please don't. Not like this." His canines scrap against my skin but they do not puncture it. His grip around me loosens and I suddenly remember that we are both naked. Something hard is pressing against my stomach but I do not dare look down to see what I already know it is. My
**Indicates a dream** **”There is more that you need to see,” a voice echoes in my mind. Suddenly, I am standing in the hallway outside of Alexander’s office. I raise my hand to knock on the door but no sound comes from my actions. I raise my hand to knock again, once again there is no sound and this time my hand pushes through the wood of the door like it isn’t even there. Raised voice from inside the office catch my attention. Alexander is extremely angry and screaming at someone. “What do you mean I am not meant to be the King,” his voice travels loudly through the door. “I am the rightful heir to the throne. My brother is nothing more than a bastard.”There is a muffled response in return but I cannot make out what the other person is saying. Lifting my hand to the wood of the door I gently push and my hand pushes all the way through. I take a deep breath and step forward pushing my body through the heavy wood of the door. Next thing I know I am standing in Alexande
Victor's mouth crashes down on my own and I gasp in excitement. Victor takes the opportunity to slide his tongue in my mouth and my tongue immediately fights him for dominance. Adeline is pushing forward in my mind as we kiss. I can feel my canines begin to tingle in my gums. She is dying to mark what she knows is hers. Victor and I break away from the kiss and pant heavily as we stare at one another. His bright blue eyes are swirling from blue to silver and I know that his wolf is having the same feelings as mine. Victor rests his head against my forehead and closes his eyes trying to regain some sort of self control. "What if I told you that I wanted you to mark me?" Victor says as he still pants heavily against my forehead. His request catches me off guard but Adeline is howling inside of my mind begging me to do it. But I know that now is not the time for us to mark one another, I still have the prophecy to find. I still have to mend what was broken in my previous l
Victor breaks away from the kiss that we are sharing and a huge grin spreads across his face. "Come on," he says as he pulls on one of my arms. "I have someone that I want you to meet." The grin that is spread across his face widens and I can't help but giggle at how much he looks like a little boy with a secret. Pulling a shirt over his head he looks at me and his bright blue eyes are sparkling brightly. "You want me to leave this cottage?" I say shyly as I pull on the oversized shirt that Victor gave me last night. "Yeah," he says as he tries to pulls up his pants and hurriedly buttons them. "I have someone that can help.""Victor," I whisper quietly. "I can't leave like this." I gesture to the shirt that I am wearing and Victor furrows his eyebrows at me not understanding. "It's a shirt!" I whisper yell at him as my face heats with embarrassment. "Oh, right," Victor says with a smile still spread widely across his face. "I will go and find Violet. She is about your
A lovely stone cottage stands at the end of a lane. Brown river stones cover the outside of the cottage with spots of lime green moss poking through in between each rock. Large, dark green vines that I have never seen before climb the outer walls and hang from the beams that hold the roof together. The roof itself looks like it is made of moss alone. Standing in the center of the lane I stare at the cottage in wonder. I have never seen the house of a Fae before. It looks warm and inviting and my feet travel along the cobblestone walkway up to the cottage without hesitation. As if in a trance I walk towards the cottage not noticing the circles of purple flowers that are growing among the stones. Before my foot steps inside one of them Victor pulls me backwards and I thump against his chest as I fall. "Be careful where you step," he says with a bit of a frown on his face. "Esau is not fond of visitors." Looking down at my feet I finally see the circles that are spread throu
ALEXANDER POVI wake up in a cold sweat. The memory of my mate being murdered plagues my dreams at night. Every night I watch the light fade from her golden eyes as she laid mangled and dying in the middle of the Kingdom's main square. It is almost like it is my punishment for planning the rogue attack against her. But once if found out that she was not the Moon Goddess's chosen Luna for the Kingdom what choice did I have. Remaining on the throne is more important than true love. I can get a lifetime of happiness from sitting on the throne. I do not need a fated mated to fill that void. Laying in the bed I breathe in deeply trying to calm my racing heart. But today there is something missing. Something about the way my room smells is wrong. The scent of chocolate that usually wafts through the cracks around the door every morning is missing. Getting up from my bed I pull on a pair of pants and casually knock on the door that separates my room from Natalia's. There is no
