With the way Father sounded urgent when he called, I would have sworn he called me back for a tangible reason. When I returned to the pack and met him in the throne room, there was a red-headed, petite girl there with him.

While I wondered who she was, I ignored her, focusing my attention on him.

“Alpha King Gideon,” he grinned as he leapt to his feet, opening his arms wide as he approached me. “You are back.”

“Yes. You called for me.” I glanced at the girl again, suspicion coursing through me. “Why?”
