What the hell did I eat that upset my stomach this much? I had barely eaten these past few days, so I couldn’t figure out what was causing it. I looked really pale and dehydrated from stooling every thirty minutes. I couldn’t even recognize myself in the mirror anymore.

Looking at the bright side, Gideon had to leave without me since there was no way I could travel in this condition—not unless he wanted me to shit myself inside his car. Mila had been with me the whole time, caring for me and making sure I had everything I needed. She was the closest thing I had to a friend in this pack, and I was genuinely glad I met her.

Later that evening, when I felt a little better, I went to Aldric’s office to tell him about my intention to visit my mother. Seeing that man earlier in the hallway had only confirmed my suspicions that something was terribly wrong. I needed to act before it was too late. Losing my wolf and my powers couldn’t just be a coincidence.
