Chapter Three

When I left the cafe, I realized that I didn't have enough groceries at home so I had to rush to the mall and buy some groceries.

After my little shopping at the mall, I went back home to make a quick dinner and get ready for the party before Bethel whopped my motherfucking ass.

I was about to cook white rice and pepper soup stew since it was one of my best foods.

Oh, how much I love it!

I poured in some water into the pot and placed it on top of the cooking gas

After making sure the rice was already cooking, I left the kitchen and went into my room to undress and wrap a towel around my chest.

I hate cooking while dressed up. Sometimes I like wearing just a tiny shirt and cooking. Clothes distract the hell out of me.

I went back inside the kitchen and continued cooking. An hour later I was done with my cooking and was sitting down on the rug inside my living room with a plate of white rice and pepper soup stew and a glass of wine in front of me.

Living my best life, hahaha.

I took another bite of her meat and send Bethel an SMS.

*When should I start getting ready* I asked.

Just a few seconds passed before another message came in from Bethel.

*Bitch, start getting ready. You're going to make me late*

I rolled my eyes and dropped my phone on the couch then continued eating my dinner while Whitney Houston's music was playing in the background.

I loved Whitney Houston.

I dressed up in a red long gown, long side split, a V-neck dress, and floor-length.

I styled my hair up in a high ponytail and wore minimal make-up. I wore a heavy perfume to conceal my scent, just in case I  ran into an enemy. Werewolves were not the only enemies I have, even my kind was after me.

I was just being careful.

I grabbed my purse from my bed and walked out of my room.

My phone started ringing and I swiped the receiving button.

"Hey I'm downstairs we are going to take my call so be fast and come down so that we can hit the way." Bethel, my best friend said and I rolled my eyes.

"Alright alright, I just have to lock my door.  I'm coming, you'll see me in less than 3 minutes." I retorted. I walked inside my kitchen and opened the fridge, I grabbed a can of water from the fridge and walked right out.

After locking my apartment,  I walked right inside the elevator. I rested my bare back against the cold metal and closed my eyes.

"I can't wait for tonight to be over," I  muttered to myself.

Bethel has always been the one to push me out of my shell. If it was left to me, I wouldn't stay a minute longer away from my apartment.

I knew for a fact that I was going to move again because I could feel it,  very soon they were going to catch up with me, she could feel the energy and it wasn't looking any good.

When I got downstairs I saw Bethel's car and walked towards it.

She pulled the car door open and walked inside.

"What held you back?" Bethel questioned me before starting the car. I uncorked the cover of my bottle of water and gulped a huge amount from it to quench my thirsty throat.

"Can't I cancel on you?" I asked after going silent for a while.

My spirit did not accept me going out that night and I didn't want to forcefully tell Bethel that I wouldn't go with her when Bethel had never said such a thing to me before.

"No, you can't." Came Bethel's response and I groaned frustratedly.

I wished for the day to end so fast.

Bethel and I got down from the car and Bethel handed over her car keys to the valet before we both walked inside the huge private party, hand in hand.

When we walked inside the hall, my eyes widened.

The place was so beautiful with all the tables, huge chandeliers and the decorations were top-notch.

"This place is awesome, Bethel," I said and gasped. "I could sleep here all day."

Bethel chuckled softly and shook her head.

We walked towards an empty table and I pulled out a chair to sit on. My heels were causing a problem for me which I've got to fix.

Bethel dropped her bag on the table and glanced back.

"Make yourself comfortable, I'll be right back," Bethel said before walking away.

I glanced around the big room one more time and sighed.

I still didn't feel comfortable where I was, if it was left for me, I would have been out of the room the second I entered, but that would mean having an issue with my only friend which I didn't want.

A waiter passed by and I grabbed a glass of wine from him.

I sipped on the wine and nodded my head.

It was delicious.

I fished out my phone from my purse and checked my unpaid bills.

Damn, I  had to beg Mrs. Williams for an extra shift.

There was lots of money to pay.

My house bill was $4,850 and the water bill, the light, etc.

I had a lot of stuff going on for me to be here today. But I had to be here just once.

I think it was confidence when I said that I've got to go out more often to ease my mind and not to stay hidden forever.

I dropped my phone on the table and looked up.

A lot of people were already in the hall.

It was already filled to the brim and the party was about to get started.

Just a few more hours and I would go back to the safety of my house.

Just a little while longer, I could do it.

I kept whispering to myself.

Did I do it?
