Last night I realized that I had no one at my side. I sat in his room and cried all night, he never bothered to send me a text, they never came back.

No one cared to check up on me despite my sobs.

I shown have known when mother decided that my wedding dress would be pink, I should have known when father kept me in my room while they decided what would happen at the wedding.

There were so many signs but I was blinded, I couldn’t see. I thought that if I had one person beside me then it would be okay.

He assured that he wanted me,I asked him several times if he wanted to be with me and he said yes.

Why now?

Why did they have to do this to me.

“We are leaving in three minutes” Mother burst through the door, it wasn’t a choice to come to the wedding, it was an order.

Elara had told them the truth, not one act of pity was laid upon me. My father walked up to me and told me to suck it up, “You should have known a long time ago that he wasn’t yours” he said.

I stepped out of my room, with dry tears staining my cheeks.

“You look gorgeous” Mother said.

I raised my head to find Elara surrounded by my parents, she was wearing the wedding gown that was supposed to be mine. Her hair in a ponytail adorned with white butterfly pins, she smiled happily.

A day that should have been mine was given to her. Once again she had won, she taken what belonged to me and I was left with nothing.

“Out of the way, loser” a voice said behind me.

It was Sophia, Elara’s best friend, from the delicate details in her pink dress, I could tell she was the chief bridesmaid.

“What a beautiful bride” she stretched out her hands and hugged Elara.

I was cast aside like a shadow, my shoulders hurting from the way Sophia pushed me against the wall.

I didn’t dare let out a sound, it’s not the first time she had bullied me, it had gone on for five years. From the minute she saw me, she made it her life mission to make my life miserable.

From setting my clothes on fire to taking my things without permission. In her words, those things belong to Elara and she had a right to it before I do.

Father had a broad smile on his face, he stared at Elara like she was the prettiest thing he had ever seen, he had never looked at me that way.

Not even once, no matter how much I tried to make him proud of me and notice me, he didn’t care. With time I gave up on it.

“Let’s get moving or we will be late” he informed and they began moving.

I followed slowly behind them, maintaining my distance, unfortunately for me, I was put in the same car as Elara. I sat beside her in the back.

I stared at Elara’s wedding dress, it was beautiful, the gemstone adorned the lace of the dress.

“Don’t think that I robbed you in any way, Tamlin has always been mine, you were the one who stole him from me” she glared at me when our eyes met.

I was too weak, too broken, too hurt, too jealous to speak but yet I opened my mouth.

“I never stole anything from you. He is my mate. The moon goddess made him for me” I glared back at her.

She might be my elder sister but she never acted like one to me, So I never saw the need to show any respect to her.

She laughed, “The moon goddess made a mistake. Tamlin is mine and has always been mine.

No one can take him away from me, not even you or the moon goddess” she spat out.

I caught the hateful eyes of my father on me through the mirror,

“What happens when your mate appears? Will Tamlin still be the one for you” I reminded her.

She seems to have forgotten that she had a mate too.

At first I thought she was mated to Tamlin, when he was introduced to our family. She claimed he was her mate.

They lied.

I found that out when I turned 18, it was all a lie. Yet that night I was the one who was seen as a liar, I was the one who they saw as the destroyer. They called what Elara and Tamlin had as beautiful, and condemned the mate bond I had with Tamlin.

“You two, stop it right this moment” My father cautioned, Elara’s hand was half way to my face when she retracted it. She gave me a look that signified she wasn’t done with me.

What more could I say, she had already won. She was the one marrying my mate instead of me, I was the sore loser who had to watch it all happen.

The pathetic fool that everyone would laugh at at the event, it was no new news that me and Tamlin were mates, now they would believe he had rejected me. It would have been better if he had rejected me but he hasn’t.

“I want no more word from you Alora, this is Elara wedding and you will not ruin it for her” he cautioned me.

I bat my eye at him and looked away.

What a cursed family I was born into.

“Watch out” Elara screamed in a panic.

Before I knew it, the car collided with a moving truck, A pipe pierced through the windshield and straight towards us.

I closed my eyes bracing myself for impact but when I opened them, the pipe was in Elara’s chest.

Blood oozing from her mouth as she choked it out.

I am standing a few distance away from my parents, my hands stained with Elara’s blood, once we got to the hospital, we were shoved aside by the nurses and Elara was taken.

We waited patiently for hours for the doctor to give us the verdict.

The confirmation of my sister’s death was like a sudden blow to my family.

I could hear my mother wail while my father held her close.

I couldn’t move, I just stood there watching as tears fell from my face. This couldn’t be happening.

Somehow my mother’s eyes caught unto me, they were red with rage, she rushed towards me bearing her nails out.

“You, you killed my daughter” she screamed so loud.

Her hands wrapped around my neck in a circle as she strangled me at the spot.

“You caused this, why did she die and you lived” she pressed tighter.

My hands felt helpless, not because I couldn’t fight back, but because I knew that my parents would be okay if I was dead. It not like I didn’t know that since, this was just the jolt to wake me up to reality.

My father just stood there watching my mother strangle me, I bet he wished he could do the same thing but my mother beat him to it.

Drool leaked from her lips, “Die” she pushed me down to the chair focusing all her strength in her hands. I could feel my lungs collapsing, no space for air anymore.

Tears flooding my eyes, I never thought I would die at the hands of my mother.

I know my sister was a bitch to me, she acted like I never existed but I never wished death upon her.

I would never wish death upon my enemy.

My vision was turning to darkness when I was suddenly let go, I opened my eyes to see Tamlin in front of me.

His voice breaking, “I’m deeply… sorry for… your loss. But my father expects me to be back with my bride.

Now that Elara is dead, Alora will take her place”

I looked at him shocked.

What makes him think I want that, not after I found him cheating on me.

I shook my head pleading for them not to give me to him, now that my sister is dead, he would be a monster.

He would treat me no less than a slave, he probably blames me for her death too.

My father grabbed me by the collar, pulling me to my feet.

“This is what you always wanted right? To steal your sister’s man.” He breathed against my ear, “There, you can have him, but I swear to you that you will see nothing but suffering for the death of my daughter” he cursed and shoved me towards Tamlin.

Tamlin moved out of the way and I crashed into the chairs, I could swear I heard a crack sound from my ribs.

“Get up, we are leaving” Tamlin ordered and began walking away.

“I’m not sure it’s good to see you Arnold” Tamlin spat with malicious intent. “It’s Alpha Arnold to you” The man corrected, his position upright as he stood right behind me. Tamlin let out a cruel laugh, trying too hard to sound like he was in control. “I hadn’t realized you were coronated,” he sneered. “I guess the invitation was lost in the pile of unimportant things we receive every day.” Aaron, standing at his side, echoed the laugh, but it was empty, forced. Nothing about this moment was amusing to this strange man. Instead, He pulled his right hand from his pocket, “Give the girl back to us” Aaron requested, his brows knotted with his lashes. Arnold didn’t move. Didn’t even acknowledge him. It was as if Aaron didn’t exist, as if he were no more than dust floating in the corner. Aaron’s face twisted with fury, lips curling back. He hated being ignored, hated being dismissed. His anger shook through his words. “Did you hear me?” he barked. “Give us the girl and

Alora POV: I had barely gotten an hour of sleep when I was woken up by the screaming noises of a woman. We had arrived at a mansion last night, it was one of the houses that belonged to Tamlin. We had a late introduction with his father, the Alpha, he stared at me like I wasn’t what he expected. I gave a polite greeting but he dismissed it by walking away. “Please slower” I could hear the woman say, the walls were thin enough for me to hear her cries along with the grunts of a man. “I can’t take it anymore” she kept pleading. I made my way closer to the room where the sound was. I found Tamlin in the room with a strange woman, she had her hands against the bed rest, as he held her legs secure in his hands beside his thighs. He was rough, heavy grunt from his lips, tears streaming down her eyes like it hurt. It did, he had just lost my sister and was using the poor woman to grieve. She must have had no idea what was in stall for her, Once she saw me, she whispered so

Alora While I was getting ready for my wedding tomorrow, my sister was getting fucked by my mate in his room. Growing up in the Dellih family, I was always the shadow, the extra, the one they barely noticed unless they wanted something to compare to. The odd child, second to the best. And the best was always my sister. Elara. She was three years older than me and my parent’s favorite. My parents didn’t even try to hide it, she was their favorite, their shining star, their pride. I was just… there. If Elara was the sun, then I was the dust stuck behind her glow, invisible unless you squinted hard enough. Everything I owned was once hers. Clothes, books, jewelry. Even my bedroom furniture. I used to call them leftovers, because that’s all I ever got. Leftovers. After all those years of being treated like I was insignificant, of being inferior to her, I was finally going to be with my mate. My Tamlin. A man who saw me and loved me for who I am, a man who I would never be se
