“But I was with Elara this afternoon, and she invited me to the mating ceremony,” he revealed.

“And you said yes?” I threw at him.

“I said yes,” he answered truthfully, and I sighed. I brushed past Kaiden to go to another space in the room and paced back and forth.

I palmed my forehead with my left arm and turned to him. “Do you like her?” I questioned. For some reason, I needed to know, even though I had told myself countless times that I didn't care about whoever Kaiden liked. But he can't do so now, and Elara was even a wrong choice… she's a member of the red moon pack, our enemy, and not when we have a full goal ahead of us to meet with.

“No,” his voice came out low, and my eyebrows raised at him.

“You don't?” I gazed skeptically at him.

How was I going to believe him when I'd just seen them strolling together, hand in hand in the garden?

“I don't.” He stated firmly with a finality that hit the tone of his voice.
