A phone rings in the background… Ring, Ring.
Sauntering over to her desk Serena answers her phone. “Yes?”
Trying to figure out what is going on Josh and I walk closer to her. Serena has had a lifetime of learning to not give anything away. You can tell she’s disturbed by the time the call ends.
“Well, Adina, while we may have the future playing out on the wall it is only a glimpse into a specific portion of the future. It isn’t everything. That call was from one of my security team that was escorting you home from your outing today. There was a huge ambush. Several of my team were lost, specifically those who were unable to port out of there. And those who could, saved as many as they could. It seems that Augustus’ bloodlust and his desire for you has not waned over the years only intensified.”
