The Alpha Queen's Revenge

Waking up to my body being shaken I hear my friend and personal guard Mada telling me to come quickly with her the castle is under attack by the Lycan Prince Augustus. He was after me for my unique abilities and knew my father the King of Wolves would never agree to his peace treaty terms and hand me over to be the Lycan Prince’s toy and Luna, for destroying all hybrids. The prince knew from prophecy that there would be a child born with auburn hair that would be a powerful uniter of species. Augustus instead wanted to use my abilities to destroy all treaties and make the hybrids submit to his rule. Stamp out those whom he felt were weak, as hybrids, since they were not pure bloods.

Taking a look outside I could see the kingdom ablaze from the prince’s warriors. Where was my mother and father?

Bolting from my bed I ran down the hall to my father’s office.

“Mada, what is she doing here?” My father bellowed. “YOU were supposed to take her and flee the kingdom, I do not have time for this right now.”

“It’s not Mada’s fault dad. I want to help!”

“Adina, this is not the time for this. I can’t lose you too.” My father says and he strokes my cheek with tears in his eyes.

Pulling back from him, I ask “What do you mean, you can’t lose me too? What’s happened?”

“Your… mother… is gone.”

“NOOOOOO!” searching the pack link, feeling for my mother’s life, I can not find her.

“Mada, drag her out of here if you have to! Take her and go, NOW! That bastard is here, I can feel him.”

Mada grabs me around the waist, and I feel a slight pinch in my neck.

“Mada, not like…” I fade out into a deep sleep.

“Is she out?”

“Yes, my King.” Mada tells him

“You were assigned to protect my daughter at all costs. This will be the last time I am able to remind you of this. She trusts you. I will not be able to protect her and this kingdom. Even if we lose this battle, we cannot let her be lost to Augustus. Keep her safe with your people. Those of your coven will help her get an audience with the Witch Queen. Only the Queen can help Adina to restore her Kingdom. Let Serena know her sister, my mate is dead.” My father instructs Mada for the last time.

In a blink we were gone just as Prince Augustus entered my father’s castle.
