“You’re here,” I whispered in disbelief as I stared at each one of them wide-eyed. “You’re all here.” I gasped and before I was even aware of it I was down the stairs and launched myself at them, Magnus being the closest one caught me and crushed me to him, his arms around me tight, my legs around his waist and our lips locked in a searing kiss.
I pulled away enough to catch my breath and then I was in someone else's arms, Brodryn pulling me into a tight hug and kissing the hollow of my throat as he inhaled my scent, his hands running through my hair before fisting the locks and tugging my head back enough to make me shiver and gasp as he kissed along my jaw. Then I was in Cadmus’s arms and he crushed me to his chest while his hands held me tight enough to leave marks and he kissed each corner of my mouth, my closed eyes and the erratic pulse point at my neck.
Ok, this was a hard one to write. I wanted to make sure that it was something you could feel. And I sincerely hope that I was able to accomplish it. Please please please, let me know what you think. I love hearing from all of you. I try to answer any questions you guys have.
As soon as the howls rang out I shifted into my smokey grey wolf and howled once more and soon enough every other wolf started to take off their clothes and shift, joining my pack for a time-honoured tradition of a run through pack lands led by the Alpha. I waited for a bit and sent everyone a mind link, saying they need not shift and join in the run if they didn’t feel like it, it was mandatory in terms of participation. I padded over to where Magnus and his brothers were standing and sat in front of them, watching them closely as they looked at me. “Congratulations, Dear One.” Cadmus spoke as he smiled at me. I huffed in response and spoke to the four of them in mind link. : Thank you, Cadmus. I was wondering if you four would be willing to watch the others in attendance that have decided not to shift since you won’t be taking part in the run. I see that An
After the food and drinks were done people started to leave or stay in empty barack rooms or whatever empty homes were available but for the most part, people chose to leave and head back to their own packs. Once the food and everything else was cleaned up and the candles had safely burned down and the fires were put out it was finally time to call it a night. I went inside and straight to the bathroom, having a long shower and scrubbing every inch of my body and my hair.Once I was done I lotioned my skin and put on panties as well as a green slip nightgown. I went into the bedroom and right to my jewellery box, finding my ring from Cadmus and once more slipping it back onto my finger. I also took the signet ring Gram had given back to me and slipped it on my thumb since it was the only finger big enough to fit comfortably. I stepped up into the living room and smiled upon seeing all my men relaxing on the couches and chairs. I walked forward and smiled at Brodryn and
I woke the next morning to soft murmuring coming from the bedroom doorway, the voices hushed and low so as not to wake me or have me hear what is being said. I roll over and look to see Kane in the doorway talking to Tristan, both with worried looks on their faces. Immediately I was on alert and sat up, climbing out of bed and making my way to the door. “What's the matter? What happened?” I asked as I stepped up in front of Kane and looked at Tristan. He looked down at me and sighed, running his hand through his hair. “The black wolves attacked last night or really early this morning, just before dawn. Once again no one was killed and we had no idea they were there until the moment they attacked and then they were gone again without a trace.” He explained as he leaned against the door jam, a tired look on his face.
I sat in my office for the next few hours and called each Alpha in our alliance, starting with Silas and it was a strained conversation but he didn’t have any light to shed on the situation, his warriors hadn't seen any of the black wolves at all. Talking with the other Alphas turned out to be just as pointless as no one else had any reports of a run-in with the black wolves. It was increasingly frustrating not to have any other intel to go off of in terms of these wolves. So far the council wasn’t nearly as helpful as you would assume. Perhaps it was time that Magnus as a member of the council put his foot up their collective ass and finally get some answers.I stayed in my office for the rest of the morning, making sure to catch up on all paperwork. Eventually, I returned to the house and went into the kitchen, swiping a big glass of cold water and looking for a snack to eat. I was bent
For the next week, things were a lot busier than I intended and I was so caught up with pack business and training I had barely seen Magnus and his brothers and I only saw Kane when we climbed into bed with each other at the end of the night. Pack business was becoming a little hectic, there was a new development starting in the human city on our land and it was a lot of meeting back and forth with town officials, leaseholds, real estate agents and the like.It was just more mediation than I originally thought I’d have to do. A lot of this stuff I never got a chance to be a part of when my parents were still around and things with Orso’s pack were run very differently. I was very out of my element and I was struggling not to show it. Since Alaric was Beta of a pack that worked with humans a lot. He has been instrumental in helping navigate all of this. I honestly could not do this without
“I have to admit, I’m becoming a fan of Miss Tilly’s food. It definitely hits the spot.” Cadmus said with a nod as he finished the last of his burger and started to clean up the garbage. I nodded and helped clean up, throwing it all in the garbage before going back and sitting with him on the couch, cuddling into his side. “I’m glad you’re a fan.” I chuckled and rested my head on his chest, holding his hand and sighing in contentment. “I’m more a fan of this than anything else. I enjoy the quiet moments we get together.” He murmured as he kissed the top of my head. “We haven’t had enough of them, unfortunately. And there's been no time at all to have any sort of conversation.” I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair. “And what type of conversation are you wanting to
As the tables were set up and Vigo from the cafeteria started bringing out dish after dish with the help of the cafeteria staff. It all smelt amazing and the tables were quickly filled with people taking their seats at the tables and then at the benches for overflow. People were buzzing as the setup happened, the air smelt amazing and various kills from the hunters last night had been slow roasting on spots all day long. It was more than enough food to feed a full pack of ravenous wolves and their guests of four dragons. I sat in my chair at the bed of the first table and smiled at Gram who was across the table from me in the throne for the Luna. The image made me misty-eyed momentarily as it was my mother so imagined and I know Gram was imagining her children and husband. It was sad but at the same time, we were extremely grateful to be back toge
The atmosphere was tense, every single person on edge as the black wolves stalked along the outskirts of the gathering, snarling and nipping at anyone who tried to make a run for it. There were gasps and cries of kids as their parents held them close and tried to soothe them, the air thick with the miasma and the undeniable stench of fear. I kept my gaze on the Alpha and stood ready for an attack, his bright wolf eyes in hues of amber scanned the crowd before landing on me surrounded by my men. : Well well well well, Little Alpha is now crowned, but still no mate. You are leaving your people vulnerable for your own selfish reasons, Feilan. : There were surprised shrieks and gasps from some as his rough voice was heard through a mass mind link, talking to everyone at once. I glared at him and knew my eyes were glowing dark emerald with my wolf close to the sur
