Chapter 3

Vivian's POV

"Augh!" I gasped sitting up in a bolt causing a wave of water to splash around.

My head throbbed like it was about to split into two, with a quick spin of my eyes I looked around and saw my personal bathroom and my jaw dropped.

Just a few moments ago, I had been in the 'hole' reeling in pain as my last moments came to me.

Could it be?

I supported myself out of the bathtub, then I took wary steps towards the sink and my mirror.

My reflection came back to me, more than half of my stress wrinkles had disappeared. My hair was back to its previous length that fell past my shoulders and my eyes, they still had that spark of life in them.

I gasped, taking a step back.

I had been reborn.

I grabbed onto the sink with one hand and then clenched my palm over my lips to muffle my screams of relief.

Another chance to make things right.

Memories of my previous life flooded into my mind, the suffering I had endured. All of it.

These memories settled at the core of my heart, sparking a sense of revenge in life.

No longer would I be their easy going doormat.

This new life.

It would be all mine.

I took another look at myself in the mirror.

Then I tried to quickly reach for my towel, the slippery suds of soap that followed me swiped me off my feet.

It happened so quickly I thought that the curtains to my third life was about to close just before I could even do anything.

But I tensed my muscles and braced for the impact of a fall that never came.

Slowly I opened my eyes that I had closed earlier and what I saw made my eyes practically triple in size.

I was hanging mid-air, 10 solid inches away from the ground.

I gaped, how was this possible? In my previous life I had a weak dismissible wolf. The only way I could have a power like this was through a wolf directly blessed by the moon goddess.

As the surprise settled down a smile curled on my lips, so not only did I have the advantage of two lifetimes behind me but this as well?

Looks like the tables have turned.

And this time finally in my favor.

I willed myself to gradually drop to the floor, then I took a moment to absolve everything that was happening before I quickly got dressed and went downstairs because there was a loud noise coming from there.

I stood at the top of the stairs and at the bottom I saw them.

The three people that had ruined my life.

They were surrounded by servants and guards. As soon as they saw me staring down, the festivity seemed to die down as well. I forced the most natural smile I had and came to their level.

"What's going on? Dad? Draven? Who is she?"

It was so hard to pretend to be oblivious, but I had handled hard stuff before.

Vlad had the sheepish look on his face, Draven seemed a bit embarrassed, the girl took this as an opportunity to introduce herself.

"I'm Sarafine, your sister," she radiated such an artificially concocted innocence that I understood why I had not taken her as a threat in my past life.

But now I could see it as clear as day those wicked intentions that slithered beneath her coat of false politeness.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. You must be angry that I called myself your sister just because I'm the alpha's biological daughter, I'm really..."

I hugged her, stopping the flow of her nonsense.

"What are you saying? Of course you're my sister!"

In my previous life and the one before that she had immediately caused a scene by bursting into tears acting like I had rejected her before I even said a word.

Vlad and Draven were quick to come to her defense, telling me off for being so selfish and unaccepting.

She stiffened against my hug, and remained all but frozen as I pulled away, probably not expecting me to think that quickly.

Now if she tried the same nonsense immediately she would just look stupid.

But I wouldn't put it past her to soon attempt another one of her tricks.

"I'm so glad you've accepted your sister," Vlad said and then went into the story of how Draven found her. I had already heard it several times before but I paid polite interest until he was done.

"Your father wasn't sure how to bring the soft to you but now that Sarafine is here she's going to need a room of her own. If you could let her have yours-"

"No!" Sarafine screamed as if she was receiving a direct blow to the chest.

"Even if I'm the alpha's biological daughter, she's the one who has stood as his daughter all these years. How could I dare think of taking her room for myself?"

I almost chuckled, she was trying so hard with her pretentious humility while minding everybody every business minute that she was the alpha's biological daughter.

Vlad who saw her dramatic dismay look at me as if I slapped her across the face, a demanding glower that wasn't looking for a no was aimed straight at me.

"We have several other guest rooms right? Vivian, why don't you just take one of them and let your sister have yours?"

In my first life I had kindly suggested that I could help Vivian settle in one of the guest rooms. Draven was quick to call me inconsiderate and cruel. In my second life I just went along with it while boiling in resentment.

But now I will do something a little different.

"She can have my room," I said, "after all I won't be living here anymore."

It was like I had dropped a bomb and Draven was the first to grab me.

"What in the goddess name do you mean by that?"

"Isn't it obvious?" I said with a mocking cock of my left eyebrow, "I'm cutting all ties with a Voss pack.”

Chapter 116Vivian’s POVAs our royal cars moved slowly through the main streets of the Voss pack territory, my heart felt a heavy, quiet sadness. The roads were broken and full of mud. The small stone houses along the street were falling apart, their roofs caved in and windows covered with dirty rags. Everywhere I looked, common pack members stood on the dusty roadside, watching our passing cars with hollow, hopeless eyes. They were skinny, tired, and starved. Children wore ripped, thin clothes in the cold wind, clinging tightly to their crying mothers. This was the true result of Vlad’s poor management. In his desperate, greedy fight to win a war, my adoptive father Vlad had taken every single piece of grain, every gold coin, and every fat cow from the common people to pay for his soldiers. Draven had enforced his cruel tax laws without a single drop of mercy. While they showered Sarafine with expensive silk dresses and gold jewels in the packhouse, the hard-working citizens of the

Chapter 115Lucien’s POVThe heavy front doors of the old Voss packhouse creaked open as our royal warriors pushed them wide.Inside the main hall, the air was cold, dusty, and silent. The old silk banners on the stone walls were faded and torn. The long wooden tables sat empty, covered in dark dust.Gabriel, Jacob, and I stepped smoothly into the hall, surrounding Vivian as her protective shields.Behind us, two lines of our elite Crescent Phoenix guards marched inside, their heavy leather boots making a firm, steady sound against the stone floor.Sitting on the high wooden chair at the far end of the room was Vlad, the man who had raised Vivian as her adoptive father after his biological daughter went missing long ago. Next to him stood Draven, her former fiance, his face dark with violent anger. Standing in the shadow behind them was Sarafine, her dress messy and her face pale with fear.Gathered along the sides of the hall were the remaining Voss elders. They stood in quiet terror

Chapter 114Vivian’s POVThe heavy engines of our royal cars made a loud, steady hum as we drove across the wide border fields.Beside me, Gabriel held the steering wheel with his massive hands. His golden hazel eyes looked straight ahead, watching the open road. Behind us sat Lucien and Jacob, their eyes sharp and quiet. Following right behind our lead car were long rows of dark steel vehicles filled with our brave frontline warriors. It was a huge, strong force that stretched far down the road.I sat tall in my custom dark steel armor. Tucked safely behind my left ear, the silver Moon Whisper flower gave off a soft, warm feeling that kept me calm. My blue doe eyes were quiet and clear.Soon, we reached the top of a small hill, and the border wall of the Voss pack came into view.Standing behind a low stone wall were the last remaining Voss border guards. Their armor was old and dirty, and their iron weapons looked rusted. They looked tired and pale. These were the only men Vlad had

Chapter 113Gabriel’s POVThe early morning mist hung low over the main courtyard, smelling of fresh rain, cool iron, and pine wood.Row upon row of open-top royal military vehicles sat idling on the cobblestone, their dark steel frames gleaming softly in the pale sunrise. Hundreds of our frontline Lycan warriors stood beside them, ready to march out toward the Voss border to enforce Vivian’s treaty of total subjugation. Before we mounted the lead vehicle, I stood right in front of Vivian, completely focused on her safety. She wore her custom royal armor, a piece I had personally commissioned from our master armorers. It was crafted from lightweight, high-grade dark steel that could stop any arrow or blade, lined with soft black leather to keep her comfortable. Painted across the chest plate in pure silver was the blooming crest of the Moon Whisper flower.I knelt down on one knee in front of her, my massive shoulders broad and steady. My golden hazel eyes were bright with intense car

Chapter 112Vivian’s POVThe heavy, ancient oak doors of the Moon Goddess shrine swung shut behind me, blocking out the loud cheer of the marching armies in the palace courtyard.Inside the sacred stone sanctuary, everything was calm, still, and bathed in a soft, ethereal silver light. The air was fresh and cool, smelling of white night-blooming jasmine and sweet forest rain. In the center of the circular room sat a clear pool of natural spring water, reflecting the divine glow of the large silver moon carved into the marble ceiling above. Before the boys marched out toward the Voss border, I knew I needed to seek the guidance of the mother who had granted me this rare, incredible gift.I walked slowly down the marble steps toward the edge of the sacred pool.I wore a simple white robe of soft, flowing silk. Reaching up, I gently touched the silver Moon Whisper flower tucked safely behind my left ear. It pulsed with a warm, comforting light, humming softly in harmony with the holy mag

They wore heavy dark steel armor, their long capes flapping gently in the cool wind. These were our elite frontline units—the same brave warriors whom Vivian had given fair pay and land rights under our new pack constitution. They were no longer bitter or tired; their eyes burned with fierce loyalty and absolute pride.I stood on the high stone steps above the courtyard, strapping on my thick leather forearm guards. My usual cheerful, playful grin was completely gone.
