Vivian POV
"I have never been able to forget the first time I died. Who starts saying that my time will come again so soon?"
The entire hole which just a moment ago had been overcome with murmuring fell dead silent.
"Have you finally lost your mind?" The man I had a loved for two lifetimes said, standing upright from his throne. "Even as you stand trial for your heinous crimes, don't you feel any shame?"
I chuckled to myself; "Shame? What's the use? I've had it beaten out of me by the same warriors who used to bow and call my name with fear, no Draven I don't feel shame thanks to you I feel nothing at all."
He went red from his neck upwards then only calmed down when two familiar delicate hands came and wrapped themselves around his own.
"Draven, please. We all know that not in her right mind, before she smears such a high image so badly that there is nothing good to remember her for, so let's finally put this to rest."
"Sarafine how thoughtful of you," I said through a sarcastic sneer, the silver chain dangling from my wrists burning into my skin, "if only some of that thoughtfulness was able to keep you from hopping into my mates bed at the first opportunity life threw you."
She blushed violently burying her face in Draven's arm, he glared at me with venom in his eyes.
"How dare you?!"
One of the warriors standing at my right kicked my leg forcing me to kneel, my former mate's eyes burnt bright with undiluted hatred.
"Here she is trying to grant you some mercy after you attempted to take her life,"He tightened his face together, then relaxed them to aid Sarafine down to my throne. Technically it was hers now, she had to take it just like how she took everything else.
"I thought that I could just exile you temporarily, in consideration of some contributions that you made in the past,"he said, almost immediately I snorted.
"Contributions?" I flung back at him, "the reason any of you are standing here right now trying to judge my fate breathing the air in your lungs is because of me. I, Vivian Gandallon saved you all... In my past life we lost the war!"
The murmurings began again, but nobody tried to stop me so I continued to speak, forcing every word through my parched throat that had been denied hydration for days.
Unlike what everyone else was thinking right now I was not insane, I did not lose my mind.
This was indeed my second Life.
My second chance to make things right.
During my last life we went to war against the blood thirsty Great Lycan princes. They surpassed us in everything, from the size of their territory, army and also the non dismissible gap of raw strength.
I begged my father the Beta and my mate the Alpha to surrender, and the towers of piling bodies going higher everyday. But their pride meant more to them than the lives of their people being lost in a meaningless war. Within a few years, I gradually lost everything and everyone I cared about.
3 months before the Voss pack house fell I went down on my knees begging Draven to concede. To spare the lives of our people but he dismissed me as always.
And when that day finally came when my entire world came crumbling down in flames, I rushed into our bedroom to find a mysterious empty bottle in his hand and foam coming out from his mouth.
The warriors that still remained standing rushed to my side begging me to follow them.
"Luna, we don't have much time, let's escape!"That was the desperate plea of a warrior who had seen me struggle many times to convince my hard-headed mate.
But I refused.
I had already lost my father, Draven was my world now and he had been snatched away from me as well.
My first love. My mate. My everything.
Pressing my fingers into his wrist and not feeling his pulse had sealed it all for me, I saw no reason in going on fighting anymore.
The lycan warriors came in, and soon there was a dagger pierced right through my heart.
As I watched everything fade into darkness I begged the moon goddess for another chance, to prevent this calamity from ever happening.
I closed my eyes and when I opened them, beside me was Draven after the night of our mating ceremony. Before the war even started, I was over the moon with this advantage I could save everyone I cared about.
Now with time on my side and credible foresight for what the lycans were going to do I involved myself in the war instead of being a passive bystander. I became a full strategist and with my help things turned out differently . This time we were victorious. I saw the corpses of the Great Lycan princes who were said to be unkillable.
A mocking lone clap rang through the throne room hall, I turned it to my side and so my father Vlad brought his palms together continuously and then shook his head.
"Alpha, it is just as my daughter said give her the sentence she deserves before there is nothing good to remember her by."
I had not expected anyone to believe me, after all everyone within these four walls had already branded me an attempted murderer.
I would be more surprised if there was a single person who listened to a word I said.
Draven stood up from his throne again, she gave me a complicated look. As if his hand was being forced but he just like everyone else thought that it would be better if I was erased.
Sarafine was the true daughter of the Beta who had been lost at birth and I... I was just a stand in, there was no way I could have ever replaced her.
And now that I had worn out my use it was time for me to be tossed away
"I, Alpha Draven, of the Great Voss pack declare Vivian Gandallon guilty of attempted murder of Sarafine Gandallon.”
Chapter 7 Vivian's POV I had said it as a mild joke to cut through the butter thick tension in the air but he looked at me as if I suggested harvesting each of his organs, discussing lining up his pictures, scrunching them but not stealing any of the rugged handsomeness that edged them. "Clearly I'm supposed to take the bed I'm of a higher ranking than you it goes without saying that I will take the bed," he said responding to my joke with full seriousness maybe it was too soon to think I could crack a laugh with him after all we had been sworn enemies in my previous life it would be strange if he suddenly flipped his switch and started treating me kindly out of the blue.My eyes landed on the bed, the only available one in the entire motel because every other room had been taken and I had snuck into this one since I knew he was here. "Are you sure you can't give it up to me? Isn't there a single gentlemanly bone in your body?" I don't know why the heck I was pulling his leg like
Chapter 6Jacob's pov Dammit, my brothers are going to kill me.That is…if I don't die right now perhaps.I pushed my bodyweight against the rickety door, buying time. For what? I'm not quite sure."Just let me help you," the viper said, her voice a desperate whisper shout, I laid my eyes on her then raked them through. She was taller than most she wolves, with distracting curves and her midnight black hair was a tight, heavy looking bun on her head…for a stupid second I wanted to loosen her hair and- "Lady Vivian!" The banging from the other side intensified and I almost whispered a thank you to the enemies behind the door frame reminding me that there was another enemy in here with me even when her blue eyes sparkled like stars."Didn't you hear me before? Why would I trust you?" I said making such spite dripped from every word. Those doe eyes widened and a flicker of hurt past them.A stupid impulse in me told me to console her and I smothered immediately.Console her, why?! She
Chapter 5 Vivian's POVAll it took was a 5-minute conversation for them to decide they didn't want me anymore. I was disgusted but not surprised. 5 minutes against all the years I had given them, all the care, love and devotion. I pitifully remembered myself in my previous life, fighting tooth and nail to win their affection. When I should have just walked away from this very moment. Pathetic. I packed up my bags and left, surprisingly Draven followed me to the border. He was really such a pain. "You know you're going to regret this..."he said emerging from behind a tree where he had been hiding earlier, "... Your wolf is weak, you've lived here your entire life as the pampered princess of the Gandillon Beta house, how will you survive on your own?"I knew he spoke not out of concern for me. This was just another one of his tricks, making me undermine myself and crawl into his arms. "I'll be fine," I said dismissively, hoping he'd leave now.He grabbed my arm as stubborn as e
Chapter 4Draven's pov This can't be real. Is she messing with us? Her lips rolled into a smile yet it was disconnected from her eyes that were icy enough to send chills down my spine.I released her, but didn't back away."Is this because of your room? Are you throwing a tantrum just for that?"Of course that's all it was. This is Vivian I'm talking about here.Ever since we were kids she has been infatuated with me.All I ever need to do is ask her to jump and her only response is to whip her head at me excitedly and ask, "how high?"Only last night, we had been looking at the starlit sky together, fingers intertwined, then she made my heart skip a beat when she said that she wanted to get off birth control. " We're going to win the war soon, isn't it about time we start planning for the kids?"My mood had immediately soured. Kids? That was too much of a hassle for now.But I couldn't just tell her that I didn't want to have kids because of that, instead I gave her the silent tre
