Masuk“Did you find her?”
“No, my lord.
” The head guard in The Silvermoon Pack answered with a bow as he
knelt.
“We have toiled for days without finding the woman's body.
”
Alpha Duskryn smiled.
Although he hoped they found the woman, he was more than happy that this was
the news.
“I see.
” He smiled again, relaxing his back against the hard chair.
“Wildwolves have eaten her, obviously.
” There was pity on his face for a moment - but it
vanished the next time he looked up.
“That should be all for now. I'd pass the
”
news.
The head of the guards bowed before leaving.
Alone, Alpha Duskryn remained in the meeting hall. Although there wasn't any
meeting he had planned to have - he needed some time to himself. Away from the
Luna and their daughter.
“This is good news.
”
Indeed, it was good news.
More than just good news. A piece of news he could not wait to tell his family
about. Emilia had been worried the former princess might return at any moment,
and he had tried to tell her several times that nothing like that would ever happen.
How could she return?
An omega wolf who didn't have the strength to save herself. How could she beat
up the wolves in the wild, talk more about escaping from them?
A mistake the Alpha believed he made was not sending some men out with her
when she left. How was he supposed to even know she would leave the pack
before the time he gave her? What prompted her to do something like that? He got
off the chair, reaching the door while the guards moved behind him.
“No—
” He tried
to stop them with a wave of his hand.
“You don't have to.
”
“But, my lord.
”
“And your lord commands to let him be. My chamber isn't so far from here that I
cannot make it on my own.
” He resumed walking, ignoring the men who bowed -
from behind him that he could not see.
“Thank you.
” And he was out of the room.
“Father—
”Emilia, already, was at the door.
“What's the news?” She asked with mixed
emotions on her countenance.
“Is the woman dead or alive?”
“Dead.
” He continued to walk.
Emilia gasped.
“Yes!” She cried with joy laced in her voice.
“This is good news,
Father. Can I see her body, Father? Or maybe remnants of her pieces.
”
“What has come over you, Emilia?” The old Alpha cried.
“I have never seen a crazy
child like you!” He walked back to the spot where she was.
“There's no body
anywhere, nor was there a confirmation. But she's dead and we know that. No way
under the earth will an Omega wolf make it out of a forest as deadly as that during
the night. You know this. She's a weak bitch and cannot survive.
”
Emilia nodded.
“Right, Father. Why do I even bother?”
“Good. Can I go see your mother?”
“Yes. And may I ask that this news be announced? To the members, I mean. They
need to know what has happened. It's the least we can do; tell them.
”
He didn't plan to.
But what difference did it make?
Nothing he could remember.
“Of course, Princess. You should go ahead and ask the
men to gather all members. I shall be there myself to announce.
” He promised as he
walked away. Wherever he was headed now? Where else if not the chamber where
his beloved Luna was in and waiting?
“Is my wife in?”
“Yes, my lord.
” A maid with a tray in her hand, answered with a bow before leaving
his sight. The guard at the royal door gave way for the Alpha and he walked into
the chamber to see the Luna.“There you are—
” He muttered.
She looked up, abandoning the yarn she was making.
“My lord. Here I am.
” Her
head bent slightly and she continued.
“How did it go? With the men who recently
returned from the search.
” She smiled as she asked, already knowing what the
response should be. But she waited to hear it.
“It is exactly what you think—
”
“And what do you think I think?” Luna Duskryn chuckled. She picked up the yarn
and continued.
“You can't read minds. How can you tell?”
“I cannot read minds, my lady. But we're mates, even married. How can't I tell
what's on your mind?” He scoffed whilst lying on the bed.
“The men have come
back with news; Nyssa wasn't found. There was nothing like her presence in the
forest, according to what Darius told me.
”
“Oh. How nice—
” The Luna nodded.
A sigh of relief escaped her mouth.
“Wild wolves have dealt with the bastard already. Poor Nyssa. I hope she finds
peace in the afterlife.
” Luna Duskryn mouthed.
“She doesn't deserve any of that, but
I hope she finds it.
”
The Alpha nodded.
Whatever happened in the afterlife was none of his business. He laughed at the
thought of Nyssa having peace, even. But why should he even care? The
Silvermoon Pack belonged to him, and that was all he gave a fuck about. Not some
girl who was weak and powerless - why should he bother?
Ah; he remembered, jumping to his feet instantly.
“I must take a shower and be
ready to address the members. Your daughter made me promise a speech to them,
and I must deliver.
” He caught up with the royal closet, snatched a towel, and was
hurrying to the bathroom before his wife spoke.“You're spoiling that girl—
” She protested in an unserious manner.
everything.
”
“Don't give her
“She's our only child. Why not?” Duskryn answered from the bathroom.
“Plus, the
members deserve to know, don't they? She would be their Princess if our daughter
wasn't - they should know.
” The main door flung open at that instant.
“Where is Father?”
“He's taking a bath, Emilia.
”
“I have come to let him know members have gathered, Mother. He wants to address
them.
”
Luna Duskryn abandoned the yarn, catching up with the door.
will be there in no time. We'd keep them company until then.
”
“Let's go. Your father
“How long before he makes it, Mother?”
She ignored her daughter while they walked out. Was this how happy she was to
get rid of Nyssa? A woman who should be the actual princess instead of her. A scoff
threatened to escape her mouth but she swallowed it back as they continued to
move.
“We must conduct a funeral.
”
“Huh?”
“You heard me. Nyssa is dead. We must respect—
” She was cut off.
By a laugh. Laughter from her daughter.
“Did I say something funny, child?”
“Not exactly, Mother. But you may put it that way. Why do you think Father would
put resources into something like that? Nyssa's death of all deaths.
” She halted.
“I'm
sorry, Mother, but she deserved everything that happened to her. Okay?”Ignoring her daughter, she continued to walk.
Why something like this would make her feel bad was something she didn't
understand.
Or maybe she did - maybe she fucking did. Something like this could happen to
them one day; a wicked beast claiming the pack and having them killed - then
taking the pack for himself - or better still, the Beta of Alpha Duskryn takes over.
It was impossible.
Too impossible; as the Alpha didn't have a Beta. He's probably scared and
traumatized by his own acts that he never thought of taking a Beta.
If only her daughter could see this point.
But she couldn't. Never will.
The main door opened. The Luna walked out, and Emilia did the same. Already,
someone rushed them from behind.
“How are you two still here?” The Alpha
walked past them, hurrying to the meeting gate.
“Good day, everyone.
” He caught
up with the stage and looked at everyone who was waiting.
“Long Live The Alpha.
” Everyone hailed.
“Thank you.
” He settled on a chair.
“It is good to be with you all again, as usual. I
have come with news this time.
” He looked around, watching faces whilst smiling. It
was a good day - more than a good day.
“Shall we sit while I announce?”
They took seats.
And he began.
“The woman whom we banished from The Silvermoon Pack a few days back—
”
There was a pause before the Alpha continued.
“That woman is dead, according to
the words of men who have been out and looking for her remains.
”Someone raised their hand.
“Yes. What?”
“Do you refer to the former princess Nyssa?”
“Of course. Who else would I be referring to?” The man mocked as he looked
around.
“My daughter, Emilia, has finally won the battle. She has taken over the
Princess's throne and will reign as one for a very long time. While I continue to rule
the pack with my wife, the Luna Duskryn of The Silvermoon Pack. Anyone who has
an issue with this is free to come forward and lose their life.
”
The royal family watched, waiting.
No one made a move.
Lights turned on.The gate opened.“Good morning, Emilia.”Already tired from everything, she could only nod.“I'll need you to speak, Nyssa.” The man spoke again. He continued while she continued to nod.“How are you?”“My lord has sent me to you.”Weak. Or could he not see what this place had done to her? She would like to askhim this, but the last thing she wanted to take was chances.“I'm alright. Thank you. What do you want?”Bastian moved closer. He looked around as though it was his first time in this place.“Alpha Zevran hasasked me to take you out. Only if the conversation you two had is still valid. Whatdo you say, Emilia?”Before he could complete the last sentence, Nyssa had already nodded. She woulddo anything - absolutely anything to leave this darkness.“I already promised to beof good behavior.” She spoke now.“Let the Alpha know how willing I am to dowhat is right by him. I swear on my life.”“Good.” He snapped his fingers now.And two men moved closer.“Op

Instantly, she froze.Zevran, from where he stood, could see nothing but the shock she had on her face.“You didn't think I would catch you trying to escape from my pack, did you?” He letout a scoff as he walked closer.“Go on. I won't disturb you.”Embarrassed, Nyssa stopped trying. At least, for now.Beads of sweat filled her face. She had been busy - trying to look for a way all herlife; since she was brought into this pack. And now that she had, this man had stillmanaged to sabotage her plans. How did he know?“I asked you to continue, Emilia.”“I can't.” She snapped.“I don't even see a way—” Her frustrated self could not holdit back.“Why?” Tears gathered around her eyes. She looked at the space again.“Idon't want to be here. Let me go.”No way she just said that to him.How dramatic! Zevran thought. He let her live after finding out she's his mate, eventhough the plan was to eat her; use her for meat.“You're such an ungratefulbastard.” He moved, heading in her di
He was seated in one of the chairs, waiting. As the hall door opened, he looked up. A sigh of relief escaped his mouth while she led her way in. “Finally. Look at her.” He gestured to Thalia who was seated with him at the table. As before, she was still mad that he didn't tell her about this lady. “I don't know what else to say to you, Thalia. I am sorry I forgot to mention it to you—” A sigh escaped his mouth. “Let's discuss it later, mm?” “Of course, Zevran.” She scoffed. The Alpha smiled. Besides Bastian, only Thalia had the right to refer to him by his name. She was his first mate, a woman he loved to an extent. But to live, he had to do what was needed by rejecting the bond. And they still did everything mates normally do. Except for acceptance. “Your meal is ready—” “Did you bring some for my lady?” “You didn't tell me I will add her platter to—” “Are you saying there's not more in the pot, maid?” Zevran ignored his wolf's growling and concentrated on criticizing her
As a new day started, Nyssa was up. Just as the head of the maids asked, she was up and ready to go about her day. In her mind, she knew what she was after. Of course, she didn't give a fuck about the mad Alpha. Not one fuck. Everything she was doing was one way to find a route of escape. She wasn't awake when she was shipped into the Pack - else, she would know one or two ways to run away. “Good morning, Lady Emilia.” An ordinary maid who walked past her room, greeted with a bow. Nyssa could only nod as her thoughts were occupied - she needed to think. Her legs stopped moving when she got there. The door leading to and fro the Alpha's chamber. “Good morning. I have come to attend to the Alpha's needs.” She told the man who watched the door. “This is the time to clean his chamber.” The man didn't speak. He only nodded and opened the door, walking in to do something before coming back to let her in. “Don't wake them.” He mouthed before she completely got in. “The Alpha doesn't
Of all the people she expected Agnes to mention. Not this one. The meal hung in her throat as she tried to process what she just heard. Maybe - just maybe she didn't hear correctly. Nyssa looked up at the head of the maids who waited while smiling. “What did you say?” “Alpha Zevran, my lady. This is his Palace.” Fuck no. The older woman repeated the same words she assumed she hadn't correctly heard. “The Heartless Alpha.” Nyssa opened her mouth, swallowing crumbs of meat that hung in her throat. “The wicked Alpha Zevran.” She looked at the woman who was confused. “I'd be back to lecture you, my lady.” And she was left alone - to and with her thoughts. This couldn't be. It just could not be. Did the moon goddess remember who this man is and what he did to her so many years ago? Zevran, her parents’ killer. The same man who caused the war that took their lives - and started her misery. What was she doing in his Pack? How did she get here? Definitely, it wasn't fate. It co
