Chapter 120

It took a few seconds for the words to register in my mind, and for who ‘Master Fae’ to click, and when it did, I tore my eyes away from the spot I could swear I had left Jason in.

I made a mental note at the back of my mind to revisit the issue, but for now, I had to focus on not appearing more insane than the guards already thought I was, while pondering why the man was here.

I use ‘man’ very loosely, because what am I supposed to call him when I don't even know what he is?

All I know is that there's something…. different about him.

“Let's go,” I said to the guards.

They parted for me to walk in front of them, and I did so with my shoulders squared and head held high.

When I got to the living area, it didn't skip my notice that the maids were up and about. My eyes fell on Hilda, who was keenly asking the other maids some questions to probably make sense of everything, and I let out a sigh.

Nothing at all made any sense to me.

“Where's he?” I asked the guards, expecting him to be aro
