CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

 I close my eyes and ears to what is happening to my parents but fortunately, I don’t hear much about them. It’s like they have disappeared.

“I’ll fix things,” Adam tells me grimly a few days later when he sees me sitting quietly, my face pensive. “So far nothing has happened.”

However, there is more than my parents that I’m concerned about.

Maya, Adam’s ex-fiancée and childhood friend has decided to move in to catch up and my mate has begun to forgive her for her siding with his parents. It worries me because they two of them have history and were close enough that he wanted to mate her five years ago. But I’m scared of pointing that out to him.

So far, ever since I’ve met Adam and mated him, I’ve brought one problem after the other to his doorstep. I want to become someone he can lean on, not someone he constantly has to save. I’m not a damsel in distress but it seems I’ve been forced into that role.
