“Please don't kill me, I am pregnant.” I started begging them as soon as they started untying me from the trap. The man untying me just stared at me and removed the trap, before getting some clothes and tying it up, he then carried me and started following a trail slowly being followed by what seemed like an army.in the few days i had stayed at the crescent pack, i hadn't seen any of this people there not even one of them.
“Did he send you?” I tried asking not to be pushy if they decided to kill me right there.
Still no one spoke up; they just kept walking until we approached what seemed like a castle. I had never been there before. A lot of people both women and even children, were all working together. They all seemed happy.
“Where are you taking me and who are you?” still no one spoke until we entered a huge room. They put me down on what seemed like a bed and left. A young woman showed up with a basin and a towel, she had a warm smile.
“Hello, I am Kat. Am going to clean your wounds before the doctor comes to stitch you up.”
“Okay, thanks.” I said, trying to fake a smile. “Where am I?” I asked, touching her hand. “If he finds me he will kill me, please don't let him kill me.”
“You are safe here, I promise.” she said, rubbing my shoulder. “Let's take care of your wounds first.”
“Okay i say trying to relax, she seemed genuine and nice to me. “I am pregnant.” I found myself blurting out, “with twins I don't know if they are okay.” she looked at me with another genuine smile and motioned for me to lie down on my back.
After what seemed like forever, I was stitched up with clean bandaging and clean clothes. I was in a different room, a cozy room when I woke up. For a moment I thought I was dreaming. I have never in my life had someone treat me so good.
“That was a long nap.” Kat said from the doorway as she came inside.
“For how long was I out?” I ask her sitting up.
“Three hours.”she said sitting next to me in the bed.
“ I haven't slept well in a while.” I said, rubbing my stomach, and then I looked back at her.
“Your babies are completely fine, so are you. You will just need to be on bed rest for a while.”
“Thank you so much for everything.”
“Don't thank me, there are people who want to see you. We are the half moon pack, you have probably heard of us.”
My mouth is wide open in shock, the half moon pack is the most powerful and richest of all packs. They all lived in Harmony and peace but whenever they declared war no one would survive them. Even the crescent pack with their arrogance feared them.
“What do they want with me?”I asked, confused and a little terrified now.
“There is someone who wants to meet you, they have sent troops out to look for you for a very long time, at some point we all thought they will find you already dead.”
“Well honestly I am also surprised that I am still breathing.”
“If you don't mind me asking Vanessa, who is the father? Do you even know?”she asked, almost afraid to.
“Yeah it's him, alpha Damian but he doesn't know yet. But I doubt he will even care.”
“I am so sorry for everything that happened to you Vanessa.”
“Thank you.” I said as we stood up and she led me out.
We walked through some corridors before she led me up to a cozy lit up room
“Just sit there, she will join you shortly.” Kat said as she walked away.
“She?”I asked, confused. “I thought I was meeting your Alpha?.”
Kat just smiled before walking away. I sat there in silence for what felt like forever before I heard footsteps.
I turned around and there she was, in the flesh.
I am hallucinating, this cannot be true. I tried talking to Eden, my wolf but she was still too weak.
“This is not real, you are not real.” I said out loud and my mother just smiled and continued walking up to me.
“I went to your burial when I was six years old, you are supposed to be dead.” I said tears streaming down my face, tears of sadness, joy and anger mostly anger.
“I will explain everything Vanessa, let's just sit.”she said, holding my arm. I immediately instinctively pulled away and stood some feet away from her.
“Don't come near me just don't.”i said all the bad things I have gone through coming back. “You left me.”
“I didn't have any other choice Vanessa, please sit and give me a chance to explain.”
“All that time you were peacefully living here when I was slaving away for everyone and being used. Did you ever think about me? You knew he was abusive and you just left me with him. What kind of mother does that?”
I immediately ran out of the room still crying. I went outside and found a secluded place, it seemed like a flower garden, so I sat there watching the sun set as I bawled my eyes out.
“She talked about you everyday,” I heard a voice from behind me, a male voice, “everyone here knows who you are because you are all she talks about.” I looked up at him and he was the sexiest man I had ever seen. Tall, blue eyes, broad shoulders and when he talked you could see he had dimples on both cheeks.
I felt a warm feeling, like I had never felt before, and a very strong attraction towards him.
We found him Vanessa, finally we found your mate. My wolf Eden said. For a moment I was shocked but it all started to make sense, I have never had any of this attraction towards anyone, and the warm feeling I felt towards him was so intense.
“I am Jordan, I had started to think I might never find my mate.” He said sitting next to me.
“Not to burst your bubble Jordan, but I am broken and pregnant with twins for the man my father sacrificed me to.” I don't know what I expected his reaction to be but he just sat there looking at me.
“How long has she been here?” I asked, referring to my mother, also trying to change the subject.
“Pretty much since she was declared dead. She is the Luna of this pack, she married my father.”
“Wait, your father is the Alpha of this pack?” I asked shocked, “what about your mother?”
“She died giving birth to me. And your mother has been great, don't give her so much grief Vanessa.”
“She left me and she has been living this great life while i was suffering, why didn't she come for me?” I asked a fresh set of tears streaming down my face.
“She wanted to but she couldn't Vanessa, it was not yet time. People needed to believe she is still dead and that would have jeopardized everything.”
“You do know that does not make me feel better not even one bit.” I say picking a rose flower and smelling it.
“So why now?” I abruptly asked, “Why help me now?”
“Because it was time, when she heard that your father gave you out she wanted to start a war with the half moon pack to get you back. But before the plans could formulate, news reached us that you had escaped and she knew you would be in danger so that's when she started looking for you.”
“Have you heard the news whether he is you know…” i say not having the courage to say dead.
“He is not dead, if that's what you are asking.”
“So what next?” I ask now, sitting back to face him. “what happens next?”
“Nothing, right now you need to stay still healthy and have those babies.” he said without blinking.
“Aren't you going to ask me why am I keeping them considering how they were conceived and who their father is?”
“No.” he said smiling. “Now I need to get you back inside so you can eat something.”
“Why are you being so nice to me? No one has ever been nice to me.” I said as tears came again. “I'm sorry, they just keep coming.” I say embarrassed as I wipe my tears away.
JordanThe moment she slips out of my arms, the bed feels cold. The sheets still hold her warmth, her scent gods, her scent and my whole body reacts to it like I’ve been starved for years and only just tasted what I was meant to have all along.I lie back on the pillows, breathing her in.Vanessa, my mate. The bond is new raw, bright, pulsing like a second heartbeat under my skin. I can feel her in the shower across the room. Not just the sound of running water, but her emotions, her softness, her contentment. She’s humming under her breath, and somehow even that is intimate. It takes everything in me not to get up and go to her instantly. But I’m frozen in awe for a moment.Because I never thought I would feel this way. So undone. So possessed. So connected.I’m the Alpha. The hybrid. The strongest damn creature in this territory. Yet one small woman with no rank just unraveled me com
VanessaHis lips are still on mine when I realize I’m not breathing.Or maybe I’m breathing too fast, too shallow like my body can’t keep up with what Jordan just awakened inside me. My hands are still fisted in his shirt, my body pressed flush against his, and when he finally pulls back, only a fraction, only enough for air to slip between us, his eyes are no longer just Jordan’s eyes. They are glowing, silver around the edges, storm dark in the center. The look of a hybrid Alpha barely holding himself together. And all of that intensity, all of that hunger is focused entirely on me.“Vanessa,” he breathes in, and my name sounds like something sacred on his tongue. “If you keep looking at me like that” His voice drops into something rougher. “I won’t let you go tonight.”I swallow hard. “Maybe I don’t want to be let go.”Something in him snaps at my r
JordanHer words hit me like a shifting earthquake silent, invisible, but enough to crack something deep inside my chest.I didn’t move on my own. Something controlled me. I didn’t choose him. I wasn’t betraying you.I stood there under the steaming water, staring at her as the last of those words faded into the air between us. For a long moment, the only sounds were the pounding spray, our uneven breaths, and the thundering of my own heart.I didn’t trust my voice at first. I didn’t trust myself at all.She looked wrecked, her eyes wide, trembling, cheeks flushed with heat and shame and fear she didn’t know how to name. And fuck, it gutted me because I knew she wasn’t lying. Vanessa had never been able to hide her emotions from me. Even before she remembered anything, her body always spoke louder than her words. But what she told me, It twisted everything I thought I understood. Finally, I found my voice.“What do you mean something controlled you?” I asked quietly, stepping closer.
Vanessa The moment we crossed the border back into Jordan’s territory, everything shifted. The air changed, the atmosphere shifted and the silence hardened. No one spoke to me.Not Kade, not the patrol warriors walking ahead and behind us, not even the omegas who rushed forward when they saw the state we were all in. Their eyes found Jordan, taking in the blood on his arms, the fury still carved into every tense line of his body. And then, they glanced at me. Not with relief. Not with concern. With disappointment and accusations and betrayal. Whispers followed me like a second shadow.“She protected him.”“She got in the Alpha’s way.”“She chose Damian over us.”“What if she is still tied to him?”I wanted to scream that none of that was true, I wanted to shout that I had no idea what came over me.But I had no voice. Not right then.I was still trembling from the inside out.Jordan didn’t look at me once on the entire walk home.He walked ahead of me, his muscles tight, his jaw cl
Jordan The moment I saw Damian’s hand on her, something inside me snapped. It wasn’t just anger. It wasn’t jealousy. It was instinct, pure, violent, territorial instinct. My vision tunneled. All I could see was Vanessa’s arm, caught in his grip. Her scent was tangled with fear and defiance, and every cell in my body roared to life, demanding blood.Kade said something beside me, maybe my name, maybe a warning but the sound drowned beneath the thunder pounding in my skull. My wolf surged forward, claws ripping at my skin from the inside. My vampire side flared hot, sharpening every sense into lethal clarity.Damian met my gaze and he smiled that smug face. I didn’t remember choosing to shift. I didn’t remember stepping forward. I didn’t remember anything except the moment my hybrid form tore through the forest with one purpose. Destroy him."Step away from her," I growled, but even I barely recognized my own voice deep, distorted, vibrating with the force of two beasts fighting for
DamianThe night was silent after she ran. For a long while, I just stood there, watching the spot where her scent still lingered wild, sweet, and painfully familiar. My wolf prowled beneath my skin, restless and angry that I’d let her go without forcing her to stay. But I knew she’d come back. They always did.The bond between us wasn’t something that could simply be broken by choice. She could pretend all she wanted, wrap herself in Jordan’s arms, whisper his name l instead of mine but her soul still remembered. The blood oath we shared wasn’t something the Moon Goddess could erase. When I finally heard the faint crunch of leaves, I smiled to myself.Right on time. She emerged from the darkness again, hood pulled low, steps hesitant but determined. My chest burned with a strange mix of pride and fury, she looked like a queen even when she was walking into the lion’s den.“Vanessa,” I said softly, spreading my arms. “You came back.”Her eyes flashed with something fierce. “I came t
