CHAPTER 06

A great horror unfolded in front of Kaylon. The supposed to be a happy meal built on his mind was taken over by a horrific turn. At the moment, he was still for the first time of his life. It was like his life came flashing before his eyes.

“Alpha! What's the mat—?” Monta was also still, but only for a brief second.

“Monta! It's good that you are here. Help me. The Luna's mouth is burning!”

“Wait.” Monta quickly took the pail of fresh water and splashed it directly at the girl.

“Why did you do that?” Kaylon squinted and angrily ran towards the Luna.

“Well, The Luna is calm now. Then, I can now help her.” Monta then grab a blanket.

The girl was still squeaking inwardly. Her tears were flowing as she was trying to control the pain. Her lips were shaking and so was her being.

“Here, dear Luna. Try to drink this. You can also do this . . .” She knew that Monta was trying to tell her something. So she carefully took the bowl in her hand and mimicked Monta’s movement. When her lips met the liquid on the bowl, she silently cried because she didn't know how to thank Monta enough. She even felt better when the liquid hit her throat. Feeling the soothing effect, she just let her mouth be submerged in the liquid. She doesn't know what it was called, but the lovely taste was making her question no more and just savor its effect.

“See? Oh, God. What are you thinking, Sir? You should take good care of her like you are taking good care of a baby. She doesn't know anything yet.” The girl could still see Kaylon scratching his head. His face looks devastated and problematic. She could also feel Kaylon’s racing heartbeat. She clearly knows that it's her fault. She might not know a lot of things around her. But at least she can still properly evaluate like a normal person.

“Bu-but I don't know how to take good care of a child.” He slowly sat beside the girl and started checking on her. Kaylon raised his hand but immediately put it down again.

“I’m sorry if I disrespected you earlier, Sir. I acted out in the line. It won't happen again.”

“It’s okay. Thanks for your help. Also tell the captain to get Wildrift ready. We will be sailing back to our home at dawn. The Luna needs medical care. Maybe it's also time for us to settle down for a moment.” The girl could see the happiness in Monta's eyes. She might not understand what they were talking about, but she could feel the happy energy radiating in the air.

“Consider it done, Sir,” Monta said, before disappearing quickly.

After some time, she decided to check on Kaylon because she was wondering why he was completely silent. Her instinct was right. Seeing his gloomy eyes, she became gloomy too. She slowly put the bowl down and held Kaylon’s face. Her hand was shaking because she didn't know if she was doing it right. She slowly kneeled on the floor and kissed his forehead. In an instant, she could see a broad smile starting to form on Kaylon’s lips.

“I want to take you home. To meet our people. Oh, how long has it been since I last visited them? I am starting to become a horrible Alpha . . . Just like him. But I'll make it up to them. I'm okay now. I have you now. Let me see your mouth.” He held her chin and gently rubbed it.

“I’m sorry . . .” she quickly hugged him and gently tapped his back.

“You are a quick learner, my love. It's been three days, but I still don't know your name. Let me introduce myself to you first. I am Kaylon Axon. Kaylon Axon. You? You?” He repeatedly pointed at her. She shook her head when she realized what Kaylon was trying to ask.

He giggled excitedly and slightly rubbed her cheeks. “I will name you then. . . Balvina Ran. Those names hold a deep meaning in my heart. Just like you. Bal . . .” A glimmer of hope was showing in Kaylon's eyes.

“Bha- B-ha . . . Bha . . .l” Her pale cheek was now turning red thinking if she got it right. She wasn't saying anything more but her mouth was still gaping. She could vividly feel the strain on her jaw.

“Yes! That's right!” Kaylon giggled again. Bal could feel that he was genuinely happy. It made her feel the happiest too. A clear sign that she got the word right.

Hours had passed . . .

While they approached the dock, Bal was beyond agitated and restless. Her eyes were wandering and she’s adamant to leave the island. She doesn't want to leave her mice friends behind. But she was thinking about whether to tell everyone or Kaylon about it. Bal was aware that the communication would be her number one hindrance. She was trying to learn but absolutely didn't know where to start.

“Miss Bal? Are you okay? Do you want to ask something? Aren't you happy to leave this island? We are going home. To the Dominant island. The castle there is big. And most of all, the people. Your people are gorgeous. They will surely love you.”

Monta’s so much talking which Bal doesn't understand is just adding to her problem. Her eyes were constantly moving and so was her wrinkled forehead. Upon sensing something uncanny, Bal immediately lowered her body. Her senses were at their peak.

“Hisss!” She angrily stomped on the sand. Her defense is up while looking at those huge men that she's going to save from the human eater kind of floor. Bal was touching the sand while waving to the people who were following her and Monta to stay back. She's in full defense mode to be precise.

“Miss Bal, it's okay. See? It's just sand. You don't have to be afraid of it,” said Monta. Bal was now staring at Monta who was jumping and dancing on the floor that she named sand. Showing her that it's not a dangerous floor or anything that close to being a danger to the pack. That's when Bal's idea hit her. Bal began looking around trying to find a piece of wood. Seeing that the floor can give off a mark just by stepping on it, she assumed that it would be paper too. Bal thought that she could only draw on paper, just like Kaylon taught her. But at that moment she realized that there can be plenty of materials around her that can be used as paper. Just like what Kaylon did to the wood using a sword.

“Sss-sssh!” Her hand is unstoppably moving in the air trying to get Monta’s attention. Bal wanted to say the word ‘See!’ But she ended up hissing like a snake. Acting strange in front of everyone and appearing

to be a lunatic that was out of reach. ‘As expected, they will never understand me! I'm an idiot!’ Bal thought.

“Hoooh!” Augmina smiled in satisfaction upon removing her mask. “That felt so cramped and unsanitary at all,” she added while caressing her sword. Her wide smile was showing off her perfect, glimmering white teeth. “Augmina, you seemed better and better,” Kaylon said while looking at his Lady General’s fully loosened hair. Augmina's massive black hair was now dancing with the strong wind, together with its waves coming from a long time and constant braiding. “General, your antler hairpin came off. Here I picked it up for you. The leather strips snapped so I also tied it together,” said the warrior shyly. “Thank you, Taydel. This hairpin has been with me for I can no longer remember when the first time was, I held this. Since I became a warrior?” Augmina chuckled. She started thinking but still couldn't find the answer within her memories. When they were finally done with the volcano visit, the warrior, together with Kaylon, started their journey, going back to the Dominant pack pa

The dripping of water can be heard echoing around the place. The smell of hydrogen sulfide gas escaping from deep in the Earth, and the cave walls' stagnant water pools smell damp and musty was passing through the little man-made hole that filled the dim cave. The light coming from an installed torch was the only light shining inside it. The torch holds a special stone that illuminates when confined. It was specially placed for the safety of the warriors patrolling during the scheduled visit. Because of this artifact, the feeding of the barrier and other activities around and inside the lava tube made it possible and easier. “Alpha Kaylon!” The two warriors greeted in unison upon seeing their Alpha, for they haven't seen him for a very long time. “Owero, Troya, and Taydel,” said Kaylon while tapping the shoulder of his men. Kaylon could see that his men were elated based on their faces. It has been years, yet the faces of his loyal warriors never left his mind—Tydel, who has a huge

“This is the Cub's playing facility, Luna Bal.” They finally stopped at the front gate that was now fully open. Balvina subconsciously got inside and was greeted with a cold stare. She could feel the awkward atmosphere since nobody dared to talk or even greeted her. She was not officially announced as the new Luna of the dominant pack yet, or the queen, so she can understand them since she believed that Kaylon’s people think that Amonette is way better than her. Supposed to be, Kaylon planned a banquet for her today, to officially introduce her to their people. But because of the emergency, Bal has no idea if the banquet will be held. “Good morning, Luna . . .” whispered the little voice that made her heart shrink. With a wide and loving smile, she slowly turned to her side and was delighted to see the innocent face of a hard-working little girl. The child's clothes are soaked with mud, and her hair is messy with dried mud on it. An indication that the little girl was frolicking in

‘Yeah, I know. No need to elaborate. And please. . . help me act accordingly and appropriately.’ Balvina was trying to talk her way out against her silly wolf. ‘Don’t talk to me like you didn't betray me. You didn't even call my name in your blissful climax! Although I am with Stone . . . But still! You shouldn't have neglected me!’ Balvina rolled her eyes, feeling irritated. Her patience is being tested whenever she's talking to Canary. ‘It’s like I could say ‘Canary! I'm going to cum!’ she sarcastically said, which made her wolf look at her with a death glare. “This mind communication is definitely exhausting, Canary,” Balvina whispers while smiling. Bal could see Canary's sarcastic smirk then later turned to shrug. ‘Yeah, you're right. Let's get going. I'm bored to death. Now that stone is away, I'm really bored to death!’ Balvina stared at Canary for quite some time. Her mind wonders about how ridiculous Canary looks right now. “Luna Bal? Are you okay?” Bal could see the se

“Come in, Laleth and Lolitia,” she said and quickly fixed the quilt on her body. Her eyes were on the floor staring at her beautiful nightgown that was mercilessly whacked by Kaylon. She heaves deep sighs feeling disappointed because she was aware that it's not easy to produce even a single clothing — it needs money. And it's not easy to get money. Especially for Kaylon who is an Alpha and needs to support his whole kingdom and people. “Ehhh! We're happy to be here and serve you, Dear Luna.” The sisters lower their heads. But Bal could see that they were uncontrollably giggling inside. As if the two had interesting news before seeking her presence. “Did something good happen to both of you?” she asked, while her brows wiggled. Though Balvina knew what the girls were thinking. “Oh . . . Nothing much, Luna Bal. We're just happy to see you radiating today.” She could clearly see the smile of the two full of malice and excitement. “I know what you two are thinking. And yeah . . . It's

Bal could feel that someone was staring at her. And it was not only physically looking at her, but also, she felt like it was scrutinizing even her soul. That's when she sensed her mate's presence; she instantly felt at ease. Bal slowly opened her eyes and was greeted by Kaylon’s gorgeous pair of eyes. The eyes that are constantly smiling whether with good or silly intentions whenever it stares or looks at her. ‘Would you like to tell me something?’ Her eyes were wide open while looking at Kaylon. She was sure that she heard his voice. But his lips were not even moving nor did open his mouth to speak. Balvina's brows furrowed trying to comprehend things. And then she remembered what happened last night and how she enjoyed herself being blissfully marked. ‘I guessed the story that I read was right. Kaylon and I are linked to each other now. I can no longer hide some things. Bits are emotions and feelings and kind of connected too. Might not be fully but I guess it's quite sensible.’
