It’s been two days since that incident, you can imagine my surprise when we spent the night at that house and he didn’t punish me, by the time I woke up, he didn’t speak to me.

For the last two days, I have been at home; worried and anxious, I tried to think about that night, yet every memory was the same to me.

I know the alpha never loses and that scares me.

I spoke to Gabby yesterday, for over three hours, I didn’t mention what he had said, she talked about how she will get me out of this. We talked about Papa, and Mom, both parents didn’t want to talk to me, and they still felt embarrassed  about Noah

Today unlike any other boring day, Gabby is coming to the house

I asked Luca if it was okay. And all I got was a grunt, I took that as a yes.

My heart fluttered with happiness, the mere thought of seeing my twin sister caused a smile to appear on my face.

Earlier Bridget had asked me why I looked happy and her surprise when she found out I have an identical twin, she even offered to tell the cook to make us our favorite meals and even told me Luca’s schedule so I know to stay clear of him.

I had intended to spend the whole day in my room, I didn’t want us to be interrupted.

“Happy to see you,” Gabby said as she walked into the living room, her eyes averted away from mine, and darted across the room before she hugged me.

“You have no idea .” I smiled, I wrapped my hand around her, our wolves sync for a second before she pulled away from me, her smile radiant, it could feel this dull house with love.

It needed it desperately.

“Come on, let’s go upstairs, we have a lot to talk about.”

I didn’t want her to speak before I guided her upstairs, according to his schedule he has a meeting in ten minutes, I could tell he is about to leave the house any time soon and I didn’t want us to cross paths.

“You don’t share a room with him.”

“I told you this yesterday Gabby.”

“I thought you were lying.” She smiled and I rolled my eyes at her.

“I like my space and I enjoy the fact that we don’t have to do anything, imagine if he sleeps with me against my will,” I asked and her face turned to disgust.

He may be horrible but he could never sexualize me in that manner, that’s the one thing I respected about him, he could never try to touch me without permissions, he could force me and I would not do anything about it, but he won’t.

“What is it like living in this house all alone? You don’t even get to leave the house, it’s like a prison. A beautiful prison.”

“A prison is a prison Gabby and it’s exhausting, I have no one to talk to, Bridget is the only one and I don’t even trust her, and don’t get me started on how she is a lot older than me.”

“Bridget- the maid, she works for the house, mostly for me, she helps me pick out what I have to wear for dinner and what I have to do for the day,” I said cutting Gabby off.

At first, she looked shocked before she covered it with a smile

Is she jealous?

God, what am I doing? I am letting Luca get into my mind, why will my sister be jealous? If anything she is mad at the fact that I don’t have anyone and I am all alone all of the time.

I opened my mouth to speak when a knock fell on the door.

Speak of the devil.

Bridget walked in with a tray of food and drinks, she placed a smile on her face before heading out.

“That’s her,” Gabby asked and I nodded.

“What did Papa say when you told him you were coming here?”

“He has no idea, it’s better this way, I am in no mood to hear any lecture from any of them and right now he is focused-on you, he is worried the Alpha will bring you back and someone saw you at a restaurant the other night, without a mark.”

Now they know he has not marked me.

I didn’t belong to him fully

I hated the way others are invested in our lives. If they just let us it would be better.

“Has he tried to- no,” I whispered. “He is not that bad, he won’t do that,” I mumbled.

“You are defending him Liv.” She smiled. “That’s not who you are? Remember what he did to Noah.”

“Maybe Noah deserved it. I mean he caused it didn’t he, what was he thinking bringing the pictures to the church, and after what happened, I was drunk that night, and he knew that, yet that didn’t stop him, he said he was drunk but who is to say he was not just lying to get away with it.”

Gabby paused

She turned to look at me.

“You have changed, you are justifying murder.” She whispered and I didn’t speak

What is happening to me? No matter the reason, no one has the right to hurt another person, it didn’t make sense to take a life you didn’t give.

“Let’s just eat, whatever happened to Noah is the past and I can’t change it, if I could take it back, I will, if I could wish it all away, I will but I can’t, right?”

“Yeah.” She whispered. “You can’t.” She said.

Something went off.

Gabby didn’t want to talk anymore, I didn’t know she cared so much about Noah, she always felt annoyed by him, but this time, something felt different.
