The Alpha’s Cruel Vow

Alpha Lucas stared at me, his eyes were everywhere but on mine.

Fear crawled up my heart, I held on to my bouquet with all my heart.

Everyone had a smile except for my soon to be husband.

“Do you Alpha Lucas Blackwood, take Olivia as your lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, till death do you part.” The priest asked.

This time, Lucas turned to look at me, his eyes filled with everything except love.

His jaw ticking.

Say yes.

Don’t leave me as everyone else does.

The priest was confused, “Do you?”

Lucas looked at me.

My pulse thundered and I looked away.

“You can’t marry her.”

The guests turned their attention to Noah, and so did I.

He promised me he won’t.

Tears pricking my eyes, my hands sweaty from the thoughts, and I could feel the flowers starting to fall to the ground.

“Why?” Lucas asked.

He didn’t yell, he didn’t sound angry, that’s how he always spoke.

Short….Emotionless

His tone almost as if he had being waiting for someone to stop the wedding.

“She is not pure Alpha,” the whole church gasped, I felt the heavy gaze on me.

My stomach twisted in pain, a warm tear fell against my cheek

The words struggled to leave my lip, I failed each time I tried..

Lucas turned to look at Noah, his eyes hardened as if he was calculating his next move.

“Speak.”

The murmuring stopped the moment Lucas uttered a word.

Alpha Lucas never spoke more than a few words.

His presence….His scent… His eyes. It was enough to make any wolf bow down to him.

The tears blurred my eyes and I felt my sight getting blurred, the memory of two months ago filled my head.

“What did we do Noah?.”

“You can’t remember” Noah asked, disarranged and confused.

Waking up naked, right beside my soon to be husband’s cousin, Noah claimed we shared the night, I could not recall even if I wanted to.

I snatched myself back to reality when I heard someone yell my name, the bright sun flashing through the window filled my eyes.

“You slept with him.” Papa yelled.

“Papa I-“

Noah barely looked at me and Lucas, he didn’t spare me a glance.

“She did, I have pictures, I begged her not to marry Lucas without him knowing about any of this.”

“You took pictures Noah.” I whispered

Papa looked down at me.

The whispers in the church became worse.

“She is impure.”

“I always knew she is not what she pretends to be.”

“She needs to be punished.” Another voice whispered.

My twin sister Gabriella could barely look at me.

“Why Noah?.” My voice shaky.

My fingers trembled, my tone clouded with uncontrollable tears.

Luca takes two strides toward me, slow and furious.

I didn’t dare look at him.

The moment a tip of his finger touched me, I felt as though electricity flowed through my body, I felt a part of wolf hide in shame.

“Look at me.” Luca spoke.

I didn’t.

He didn’t repeat himself.

“Look at him.” Papa yelled from behind. A tear slipped out of my eyes as I stared at him, I felt like wolf scratching at my chest, begging me to let her out.

Luca didn’t ask me if I did it, he didn’t ask if the pictures are real.

He stared, as if he was reading my soul. My tears burned my cheek.

My lips quivered with fear, my wolf’s eyes melting at every second, I clenched on to my dress, playing with the side beads.

“I’m sorry.”

Luca pulled away, and one glance at his pack, they closed every door to the church.

“I can’t believe you would do this to our family, you have brought shame to me.” Papa yelled.

Sweat formed on my forehead, my heart pounding against my rip-cage. I watched as the guards moved toward Noah.

Noah had no idea what was coming for him? Before he could realize, they pushed him to the ground

No, Luca won’t.

Except he is a monster like they say.

He will.

Luca stood, watching them pin Noah down, a whimper falls out of Noah’s lips, one of the guards placed his feet on Noah’s neck.

Guilt filled me, Noah can’t die because of me, a part of me knew, if I begged, papa will punish me. I swallowed hard as I watched.

“You touched what was mine?.” Luca spoke.

“We were drunk, I came to tell you the truth, she was never going to say anything, I pledged my loyalty to you Alpha, I came to you with nothing but honesty.” Noah yelled.

My vision soon blurred with tears, my feet felt heavy against the ground, a wave of panic washed over me, I blinked twice to return back to reality.

The members watched..

Luca turned to look at me and pulled his hand out, my fingers shook when I took his hand, he pulled me to the middle of the room.

At our sight, the guard pushed his feet against Noah’s neck.

I have never seen Noah cry, he was always strong, today he was not.

“Why did you do what you did Noah?.” I whispered so low, I was certain he didn’t hear me.

“Punish him.” I heard someone yell from behind.

I can’t.

I can’t hurt someone.

A lump formed in my throat. “Luca please,” I whispered.

The sight of Noah on the ground sent me off the edge.

Luca didn’t speak, he pulled out a gun, I knew what to do, yet I didn’t.

“Take it.” Papa gritted through his teeth, “Now.” Papa added.

With shaky hands and heavy breath, I forced the gun into my hand; I glanced at Noah, he could barely utter any word.

“I’m sorry Noah.” I whispered.

“I don’t-“

The gun was snatched out of my hand and in a second. As if I was forced, my eyes were on Noah’s.

The sound came,

Then the blood.

A splatter of blood covered my face, a scream falls out of my lips..
