LOGINI turned my gaze to Rhoda, who was standing in front of me. I was already shaking with fear. Furthermore, I know Kyle, and he meant every single word he said to me.
“Come with me, Miss Weston.” Rhoda calmly said. “Where are you taking me? Why do I need to be cleaned thoroughly.” I squinted my eyes. Walking closer to me, she replied. “Miss Weston, I have direct orders to clean you up and escort you to the Alpha’s chambers tonight. I am just doing my job.” “What? To the Alpha’s chambers?” I freaked out. I had no choice anyway than to comply with what Alpha Kyle ordered. Without any further questions, I got up from the ground and followed Rhoda out of the cell. We walked down the hallway, and since it was my first time, I kept glancing around the whole place. She led me into one of the rooms, and the moment we walked into the bathroom, the bathtub was filled with water and petals sprinkled on it. She gestured for me to enter the bathtub, which I did without questions. The water in the bathtub was foamy and warm. I haven’t taken a bath in the longest time, and this was like a dream come true. Rhoda scrubbed my back gently with the bath sponge while I stared into the blank air, lost in thoughts. What would Alpha Kyle do to me when I go to the Alpha’s bedroom? After the bath, I was given a white floral dress to wear, and Rhoda packed my hair into a ponytail. Most importantly, I put on my rhinestone plated necklace… which was a gift from my father, and the only valuable thing I own at the moment. “This will do, Miss Weston.” She nodded in satisfaction when I was done dressing. “Follow me.” “Call me Rachel.” I snapped at her with a faint smile. “Alright.” She replied, and turned to leave, but I held her wrist gently. “Wait, Rhoda. May I ask you a question before we go?” I inquired. With reluctance, she mumbled. “You may.” “Avery… is she okay? I remember she got shot and was taken away before I passed out. I don’t know what happened to her.” I asked with pleading eyes. “She’s being taken care of. Not to worry.” She simply answered. Heaving a sigh of relief, I gulped hard. “Thank you, Moon Goddess. Thank you.” Avery, she’s my best friend and person made. She was the only sister I had. We partially grew up together. On the night that my pack was conquered, she was with me while I was getting dolled up for the party. We were already done with my makeup and I fitted perfectly into my white, luxurious ball gown when we heard gunshots. I was startled… What could be wrong on my big day? Actually, it was Imelda who served my father a cup of coffee… she spiked the coffee, making him weak and powerless. As soon as we heard the gunshot, Avery asked me to stay in the room while she checked what was going on. I was restless, and tried calling my father on the landline, but he wasn’t picking. I couldn’t wait anymore, so I stepped out of the room to see for myself what was wrong. The moment I stepped into the big sitting room, I saw my father coughing blood. He looked up at me with the saddest smile… he was about to give up, but that didn’t stop him from smiling at me. “C…. Child, run!” He managed to say. Imelda walked in with a malicious smile on her face. She smirked coldly, pointing a gun at me. “Alpha Dane, I want you to watch me blow your precious daughter’s skull off with a wolf’s bane bullet.” “No… No, don’t.” My father tried to get to it, but he ended up spitting out more blood. Without remorse, Imelda pulled the trigger and I shot my eyes tight to receive the shot. However, someone stepped in front of me, and took the bullet. I quickly opened my eyes, and saw Avery lying on the ground in front of me, bleeding profusely. She was shot on my shoulder… she had taken the gunshot for me. I let out a heart-wrenching sob, and bent over to her. Before I could say another word, I felt a sharp pain. A gun was hit on my forehead, I fell and lost consciousness. “Can I see her, please?” I asked anxiously. “I’m afraid not. Just worry about yourself first, Rachel. We don’t have time to waste. Come on, let’s go.” She urged me, and I nodded my head and followed her. We were halfway to the Alpha’s chamber when she blocked us from entering the room. Her name is Imelda Taylor…. She hates me so much, and I can see it in her vicious eyes. “Rhoda, where the f·ck are you taking this stinker to? The feast is about to start. Rachel is a slave, she cannot attend the celebration.” She glared horribly at me. “Miss Taylor, if I recall correctly, a week ago you, you were also a slave. Are we quick to oppress others?” Rhoda said in the calmest manner. Clenching her fist tight, Imelda blurted at her. “What did you just say to me, Rhoda?” “Anyway, I’m not taking her to the feast. I have direct orders from the Alpha to take her to his room. Now if you’ll excuse us…” Rhoda turned to me. “Rachel, please.” Imelda scoffed in disbelief. “No. Kyle would not do that.” “This has nothing to do with you, Miss Taylor. What the Alpha does, or what he doesn’t, shouldn’t be your concern. He can choose to do whatever he likes.” Rhoda fired back at her. With that, she walked past Imelda, and I followed suit. Memories flashed back into my head. On the eve of my birthday party, I knew slaves were not allowed to attend, so I had the baker bake a special cake to deliver to the slaves. I saw smiles on their faces when the cake was presented to them. To be precise, I had the cake delivered by myself and to Kyle because I liked him a lot. Even though my father was cruel and unkind to the slaves, I always found a way to stand up for them… make it up to them. I never thought that on that day, my father was going to die, and I would be left in the mercy of Kyle, who I liked, and thought he would like me back. On the night of my birthday party, we were supposed to meet on the balcony. He was the man of my dreams. Even though Kyle was a slave to my pack, I didn’t see any less of him. Avery tried to stop me from dreaming of being together with him, but I blatantly refused to oblige with her. The night of my supposed meeting with Kyle before I could go to my banquet, Avery, my best friend and personal servant, was shot right in front of me. All I saw was dead people in the pool of their blood. With the way Imelda glared at me, I knew for a fact that she loathes me, and I wondered why. There has never been a day that I was mean to her when she was still a slave in my pack house. I could recall vividly that she mistakenly broke an expensive vase on one occasion, and that nearly cost her life. My father was so furious at her that he gave orders for her to be beheaded. Luckily for her, I was present. On her behalf, I pleaded with my father to spare her life, and if she must be punished, she should be given another punishment asides death. Now, she couldn’t wait to maltreat me. I really don’t blame her. My father started all of this.Days passed, and my captor didn’t visit me again in the servant’s quarters despite my sickness. After the predicaments I went through, especially the severe pain I felt from the tattoo and the forceful s·x with the Alpha, my health was slowly deteriorating. I had no wolf, so it was just as if I were human and not a werewolf like the others. As the days passed, I wished for death, but it didn’t come. Surprisingly, she wasn’t asked to run errands during these past few days of her sickness. Rhoda was the only one who visited me and gave me medications while I was sick. As a matter of fact, I laid in the exact position I have been all through these three days. It got me wondering why Avery hasn’t visited me all these while. My eyes snapped open the moment I heard the door creak open. Even though my eyes were weak, I was still self-conscious, knowing that I wasn’t safe. I sighed in relief when I saw Rhoda come into the room. Sniffing hard, I asked her. “Is Avery okay?” That was the firs
Sitting in front of the vanity mirror, Imelda couldn’t stop grinning from ear to ear. She was getting prepared for the feast that the Alpha had thrown for her.The stylist was helping to roll her hair into curls. She was already feeling like Luna because of the respect she was getting from everyone around her. What she has always wished for was gradually coming true. Her lifelong plans were falling into place. She couldn’t be happier.“Ma’am, what color of lipstick do you want?” The makeup artist handed some lipsticks to her. Imelda took the lipsticks from her, and stared blankly at it. “What… What color is this?”She asked, rubbing her eyes. She couldn’t tell what colors the lipsticks had. All she was seeing was in black and white. She was already color-blind as said by the witch she visited with her mother. In exchange for her sight, she took the fake golden mark. The makeup artist stared at her with her eyebrows furrowed. She was rather surprised that Imelda couldn’t tell the colo
Alpha Kyle stood in front of the mirror with an expressionless face. He stared blankly at the mirror, and that confused Beta Logan even more.“My Alpha, I don’t understand you. You just found your fated mate, but you don’t even look happy.” Logan puckered his brows, perplexed.Without sparing a glance at him. Kyle brushed his curly hair backwards while grabbing a book, and sitting on the sofa behind. “I don’t feel anything, Logan. I mean, the bond is not there at all.” He blurted out with a straight face. Although Imelda has the mark that was prophesied to be his fated Luna’s mark, he still wasn’t convinced. As a matter of fact, he doubts that Imelda is his Luna, but there was no way for him to find out whether it’s true or not. Both himself and his wolf, Jeff couldn’t sense anything.“Didn’t you say the seer told you that if I find my fated mate, I’d feel something? Why don’t I feel any bond with my supposed mate, Imelda?” Alpha Kyle shot a glance at Logan.Logan was confused. He wa
“Oh, my darling, Rachel.” Avery pushed the door open, and rushed into the room where I was lying on the flat mattress like a log of wood, in intense pain. Her eyes were already swollen to show how long she had been crying. She fell to her knees on seeing my gloomy face. Ever since I stepped my feet into the Silver Crust Pack, all I have ever known was pain and sorrows. Mere looking at me, she could see how miserable I looked. “What did they do to you, Rachel? How come you look so thin?” She was literally crying her eyes out while asking me these questions. However, I still wore a faint smile. She’s already in misery, and I don’t want her to fall sick from crying just because of me. “You don’t have to worry, Avery. I’m very tough, you know.”“Rachel, I’m deeply sorry that I can’t protect you. You know how much I wish to save you, right? I wish I could be the one taking all the punishments for you.” She continued sobbing.Smiling faintly, I stretched my weak hands out, and touched her
“Hey, you. Put this on and follow me.” The mean and deafening yell of the maidservant, who barged into my room, jerked me out of my thoughts. She glared hard at me, throwing the worn-out sack clothes at me. “Where… Where am I going?” I stuttered. Trust me, I regretted asking her this question almost immediately because with the way she stared at me, I knew for a fact that her answer would be brutal.Scoffing, she replied. “Our dear priiincesss Rachel, What makes you think that a slave like you is entitled to ask me that question?” She emphasized on the “princess” while stretching the syllables.I needed no one to tell me that I shouldn’t bother asking another question. Thankfully, the ointment Rhoda had sent earlier relieved the pain I was feeling from the wounds on my feet.Without hesitation, I took the sack cloth and limped into the bathroom. From the bathroom, I could hear the maidservant’s murmuring and sighs. The hatred they all feel for me is alarming, and weird enough, I nev
Alpha Kyle proceeded into the bathroom without sparing a glance at Imelda, whose womanhood was hurting as hell. Yeah, she was no virgin, but Kyle’s thrust was so aggressive. She watched him walk into the bathroom, and forced a smile at him. Making sure that no one was watching her, she brought out a small bottle containing a black substance from the pocket of the nightie that she took off.Without hesitation, she quickly emptied the content of the bottle into her mouth. With her facial expression, one could tell that the substance was either bitter or sour. Having drunk the substance, she quickly shut her eyes. Her mind was made up, she must spend the night in the Alpha’s chambers for the effectiveness of the portion she drank. After a few minutes, Kyle walked out of the bathroom with his towel hanging on his neck. Little drops of water rolled down his broad chest. His abs were so huge, but the scars on his body made it less attractive.“Imelda, what are you still doing here?” He ask
