Is it day, is it night? The room is dark, so dark. I can barely make out the shape of the room. There's a tiny window above the room. It’s shielded with curtains, cuffs by cuffs. I have been here for long enough. I don’t even know how many years have passed, I don’t even count the days. I think five years have passed since I have last been here. My life hasn’t always been like this. My father, the Alpha, and my mother, the Luna ruled our pack with much valor. I was seventeen then, almost a year to my eighteenth birthday when I would be handed the position, my father had started training me, my mother had been showing me the guideline for finding my true mate. Then. It started. The war that destroyed my life, I could never forget that night, the fire, the wailing, we were running, my mother and I. My father had stayed behind for the war, he instructed us to keep running. My mother had fainted on the cold grass while we were running, I crouched to my knees, my eyes welled with tears. "Mom. Wake up!" I shook her. "Please." "Astrid." She had whispered weakly over to me, I saw her fading, her eyes dimming. "Keep running. Don’t let them catch you, else they will keep you captive." She had transferred her Luna powers to me, and wished me good luck, before closing her eyes. I wailed beside her, before I got back on my legs, the full moon appeared in the sky, the bushes were thick. I fell over a log and limped my way through the forest. I heard a gun cock. They were after me. My father’s enemies were after me, I didn’t look back. I ran, tiny sips of blood rushing from my toe. I had no time to wait and clean it up. Finally, I fell again, I couldn’t move from my spot, my eyes were sore and foggy, I heard a brief short laughter from behind me. They caught me. A hand roughly pushed me towards the ground and I wince in pain. "You can’t escape. I have you at the tips of my fingers now, dear one." His hands ran along my jawline, dread washed over my pale skin. He was Alpha Lucien of the blue moon pack, our packs were enemies, constantly waging war against each other. Then, I dread to think that he had won. "My father." I had said weakly, "What happened to my father?" "I took care of him." His voice rang into my ear, and I shivered. I was still weak from the run, tears escaped out of my lids. My father, my mother. They were gone in just one night. "And, I am sure to take care of you too." He shoved me roughly into the hands of one of the warriors. "Throw her in the dungeon." And, that’s how I ended up here, all alone for years. In the morning, the guards bring me cold toast and jam, and in the night, they give me biscuits with half a cup of water. I try to close my eyes and sleep, but sleep doesn’t come. My eyes are weak and tired. I stare up at the tiny window that stands in front of me, for years. I have tried to escape through that window, but the iron is too strong. I just lay here in the dark and lonely dungeon of the pack-house, I know some things through the guard’s gossip here. Alpha Lucien had taken captive of my pack, he had set himself as Alpha, ruling over my father’s people- my people. Anger bubbles over me, he has no right to take us under his rule, I wonder how everyone is doing after all these years. Is the pack house going to be different now? I think about my friends, mostly Isobel. I think about my lovely parents, I miss them so much. I hear a whistle and the quickened hoofing of shoes. The guards are nearby, I know that, they come here to talk and gossip about the Alpha. Sometimes, I fall asleep, and sometimes. I listen to whatever they have to say, through their gossip, I accumulate what has been happening in my pack. "Did you hear?" I hear the deepest of voices, a guard. I presume. "The Alpha died last month?" A gasp escapes from my lips roughly, they keep quiet and listen to the source, I stay silent, resting my head on the wall. I can see their shadows from here, but they can’t see me. "What?" The other guard gasps, I can almost picture the shock that’s running through both our faces. "Why isn’t anyone informed yet?" The other guard asks with a raised brow. "His sons are in the final stage of the coronation, they are just waiting for who will become the Alpha. From what I heard and seen, both are much worse than their father!" I keep quiet, my eyes widening at the newly discovered news. If Alpha Lucien is dead, and his son is the new Alpha. Should I be glad or terrified? What's going to happen to me? "It’s Alpha Zeke now. Damn, he’s so huge and vicious, he could bring down ten wolves without any hassle!" The other guard exclaims. My shoulders sage heavily. Does this mean something new for me? Could I finally get out of here? I say a silent prayer to the Goddess. Please let me get out of here. I no longer hear the guard’s voices, they are gone now. I hear the heavy pounding of feet. It’s getting closer, I think. A huge figure stands in front of me, another guard. My lips part apart to say something, but he frowns heavily at me. He’s dangling a huge key, he thrusts the key into the hole, I hear the clanking sound as he pulls the metal bar. I stare dumbfounded at the sight that beholds me. Then, his deep voice almost makes me faint. "The new Alpha, Alpha Zeke has ordered your release."Thank you for following me throughout Astrid and Zeke’s story, they finally got their happy ever after! Though I am not sure whether to write about Leora and Hendrix’s story, they had a wild start throughout the story, if you want to hear about their story, you can do well to let me know in the comments and I will consider the possiblity of a sequel about Leor, Leora and Hendrix when they are all grown up.Please check out my other werewolf romance book, ‘Fated To Her Ruthless Alpha,’ and I promise you won’t be disappointed. LEORA.Age-16It’s been ten years since I last saw him. It’s funny how time flies so fast, one time I was just a little girl with a loving brother and a best-friend and now, I am getting ready to receive my acceptance letter into the academy. My family, especially my overprotective brother, Leor doesn’t want me searching for Hendrix; they say the past is all in the past. But, I need to see him; I need to see the ten year old boy who saved the six year old me. It’s like every time I close my eyes, I am transported back to that day, the contempt in his eyes when he looked at me was unmatched. My family killed his mother because they were trying to protect me, but every day I am secretly searching for him. I still wear the ruby necklace everywhere, anytime I rub the edges, it reminds me of him.How does he look now? How does he act? Will he still remember me? Does he still hate me? I will keep trying to search for him and when I see him, there’s countless things I want to say to him
ASTRID.I watch with widened eyes as Freya turns, but Zeke is gliding the knife into her back. She lets out a tortured scream, falling to her knees as blood gathers around her dark dress. My daughter is right here, safe with me. Hendrix yells loudly, rushing towards his mother, we all stare as he crouches to her level and cup her chin.“Mother?” He says fearfully, “Mother, you are bleeding. We have to get you to the hospital, please now. Mother, you can’t leave me.”“My sweet Hendrix, they took everything away from us. They killed me, they are the enemy, revenge my death.” She closes her eyes slowly, and Hendrix yells painfully, his hands covered in her blood.Freya is on the floor, unmoving. We did it, we killed her, and now, she won’t hurt anybody again.Slowly, Hendrix rises to his knees. “You killed her,” He mumbles darkly, “You killed my mother! I won’t let you get away with this, never.”It breaks my heart to say this, but I have to. “Arrest him.” I turn towards the guard, it’s
ZEKE.I am already barging out of the door.I have a son.I have a daughter.I have children, and I never knew about them for seven fucking years, that’s a lot of gap. I am a father, the more I say it out loud, the more it gets harder to believe. And now my daughter is missing.Preston follows behind us, and Astrid is beside me. I can’t even bring myself to look at her, but for now. I have to make sure my daughter is safe.“What’s going on in the hall?” I ask Preston as we walk hastily towards the hall.“I don’t know. A woman with dark hair is here and she wants to see you, we already moved everyone to the courtyard including Leor, though he seems very concerned. The woman is waiting for you in the hall.” Preston says.I open the door of the hall and what I see makes my mouth run dry, a woman with dark hair wearing a cocktail dress is nails deep into a man’s chest. I watch, frozen, how she sinks her nails into the person’s chest and squeezes the person’s heart. The person’s body pales
ASTRID.It’s the day. The day where vows are taken, the day that two people choose to love each other, in sickness and in everything. The day that changes everything. The pack-house is bustling with Omegas getting the wedding hall ready, Madam Yv and Gus’ mother are giving instructions for the wine and caviar. I have a feeling that they are going to get pretty drunk today, well I doubt so. This is Diva’s wedding. Everyone has been looking forward to it.Nothing is supposed to ruin the happy day except I had a dream overnight about the wedding, blood, knife stabs, running. It was so blurry to see and then I woke up, not even understanding a thing.“Mommy!” Leora’s sweet voice bounces me out of my thoughts. I look at my daughter who is now running towards me, her pink jittery dress flowing, my baby girl is the flower girl. When she reaches me, her brown hair is pinned in pigtails, her light blue eyes watch me.I am fascinated by the resemblance between her and her father, Zeke. Right, t
LOGAN.If someone told me that being with somebody could spark this much reaction out of me, I would have smacked them right in the face, because I always feel like I can generate happiness by doing lots of things that did not involve mingling with people. But, this sort of happiness...The one that hits so differently, people say love comes in tiny bits, but this love just hits me like a shockwave and now, as I look at Juniper, I know that there’s nobody I will rather spend my life with than this woman over here. “Hey, Logan?” She asks, swinging her hands that are entwined in mine. I don’t like petty things, such as holding hands, but as long as it’s Juni, I don’t really mind. We are walking hand in hand along the sea, earlier; she suggested we go for a walk just to calm ourselves down. “Yes, Juni?” I ask back and she grins, and I swear, this woman can make my heart squeeze just by smiling, she lights up my world. She brings out the sunshine in my darkness. The sky is just beginning
