Dorian remembers his grandfather talking about a time when alphas used to claim their mates publicly, sealing their partner’s fate with the claiming mark. As civilization progressed, this public claim was seen somewhat as barbaric and harsh to the delicate eyes. Dorian, however, had never given this a thought. For him, it was just another historical fact regarding werewolves that needed no attention. Little had he known that centuries later, he would be doing something similar, not only as the Alpha King but also in a completely different kingdom, in a room full of different species.
