Chapter 17 - Table for two

Gabriella hated to admit it, but there was more between her and Lucienne than just the mating bond pulling them together. He was the one who told her the truth about what her uncle was doing, but then he also spied on her while she was in the city. She rolled her eyes at her own thoughts and nearly jumped when Zion cleared her throat.

“Are we boring you?” Zion looked amused and Gabriella rolled her eyes again before shaking her head. Taking a sip of coffee, she stopped herself from saying what she was thinking. Zion gave her the progress report on how the warriors were doing and Gabriella thanked her before going back to her office. She still had to sort out the books in the pack and she already had a splitting headache. Sitting behind her desk, she looked up just as Lucienne knocked on the door.

“I know you don’t want to talk, but we have to, Gabriella.” He sighed and she nodded. If she could just get one part of her messy life back on track, it would be nice. She couldn’t
