Melody let her friends know that Eli was suspicious of her return, but at least her parents were safe. The soldiers took many of her parent’s friends prisoner, but Eli must have felt something for them because her mother explained that he made sure they were safe. Eli clearly still had feelings for Melody. What those feelings were, on the other hand, remained a mystery.

Matthew, on the other hand, wasn’t doing that great to infiltrate the Wolf King’s men. They were a pretty tight group and he was beaten up pretty badly. To make sure they didn’t kill him, Gabriella ordered him to meet them at the border to the homelands. They could use every man they had.
