White powdery snow puffs into the air as Kain slides through it. The force that was behind Gwen's magic had me clutching my chest. I snap my focus back to Silas playing a game of dodging the spells with shimmering. Kain is already on his feet shimmering through this world with impeccable speed. Jackson meanders his way over taking up space beside me now. He had been practicing shimmering short distances. He is at a disadvantage and out of practice due to being frozen.

"What's the point in all of this? You don't even know what you're up against." I don't bother peeling my focus from Silas but cringe as he takes a blow. The feeling is strange, not pain but I can feel a dull ache where he feels the pain. Could he feel anytime I was in pain? If so how did he endure the pain inflicted by Justin?
