Aurora was just an ordinary human who ran away from home because of the physical abuse her father and stepbrother were putting her through. She didn’t see any need to live life again—until she met Ryan. Mysterious, dangerously alluring, and undeniably powerful, Ryan wasn’t like any man she had ever known. He was an Alpha, feared, respected, and cursed. His glowing red eyes should have been a warning, but instead, they pulled her deeper into a world she never knew existed. Bound by fate or something far more sinister, Aurora is thrust into the heart of a realm where secrets run deeper than blood, and love is as deadly as it is intoxicating. The Elders refuse to accept her. The shadows whisper warnings. And Ryan? He might be her greatest protector….or the reason she loses herself entirely. But when enemies rise, and betrayals cut deep, Aurora realizes that it is too late… She was never meant to survive this. Some love stories heal. Others destroy. And this one? It might just consume them both. In a world where trust is a weakness and love is a weapon, will Aurora fight for a future with Ryan or become just another casualty of his curse?

I couldn’t breathe. My chest ached with every gasp as Marcus’s hand connected with my cheek again, the slap echoing through the small living room. My knees buckled, and I hit the floor hard, but the pain in my body was nothing compared to the mysery in my heart. “You ungrateful brat!” Marcus spat, towering over me like a monster in the dim light of the single bulb swinging overhead. “You think you can talk back to me?” “Leave her alone!” My mother, Lilian, screamed, throwing herself between us. Her voice cracked, desperate and raw. She held Marcus’s arm, trying to stop him, but he shoved her away like she was nothing. She crashed into the corner of the table with a sickening thud and crumpled to the floor. “Mom!” I crawled toward her, ignoring the sting of my split lip and the blood dripping from my nose. Her fragile frame trembled as she tried to push herself up, her face pale and filled with fear. I touched her arm, but before I could check if she was okay, Marcus’s boot slammed into my ribs, sending me sprawling. “Stay down where you belong, Aurora,” he growled. “I’ll deal with both of you as I see fit.” The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth as I struggled to breathe. My entire body felt like it was on fire, but I couldn’t give up. I wouldn’t. Not for this inhuman fellow “You’re a monster,” I whispered, my voice shaking but defiant. Marcus froze, his cold eyes narrowing as he crouched down to meet my gaze. “What did you say?” Before I could answer, the front door slammed open, and Greg, Marcus’s son, my stepbrother strolled in. He’d been gone for years, and I’d prayed he’d never come back. But here he was, looking even more dangerous than I remembered. “Welcome back son,” was all Greg said as he continued to look at me in utmost disgust “What’s going on here?” Greg’s voice was smooth, almost amused, as he took in the scene. Marcus straightened, grinning. “Just disciplining the girl. She needs to learn her place,” Marcus said. Greg’s eyes flicked to me, then to my mother, who was still crumpled on the floor. His expression darkened, but not with concern. He walked over and grabbed me by the arm, yanking me to my feet. “Looks like she hasn’t learned yet,” he said with a smirk. Then, without warning, he slapped me across the face so hard I saw stars. “That’s for making my father upset.” “Greg, stop!” my mother cried, dragging herself toward us. But Greg kicked her away, laughing cruelly. “Stay out of this, you pathetic excuse for a woman,” he sneered. His grip on my arm tightened, and he leaned in close, his breath hot against my ear. “If it weren’t for your stench, I might’ve taken advantage of that pretty face of yours already. But don’t worry, Aurora. By tomorrow, you’ll be clean enough for me.” My stomach churned, and bile rose in my throat. I yanked my arm away, glaring at him with every ounce of hatred I could muster. “You’re disgusting,” I spat. Greg’s eyes flashed with anger, and he raised his hand to hit me again, but Marcus grabbed his arm. “Enough for tonight,” Marcus said, his tone calm but commanding. “Let’s not break her completely just yet.” They both laughed as if it were some sick joke, and Greg finally released me. I collapsed onto the floor, trembling, as they walked away, leaving my mother and me broken and bleeding. **** The house was eerily silent that night, the kind of silence that felt heavy, oppressive. I lay on the thin mattress in my tiny room, every inch of my body aching. My mother had managed to crawl into the room earlier and clean the blood from my face, but her own injuries were worse. She’d tried to hide her pain, but I could see it in her eyes. The bruises, the cuts, the broken spirit….they were all there. “Aurora,” she whispered now, her voice trembling as she knelt beside me. Her hands shook as she pressed a wad of cash into my palm. “You need to leave. Tonight.” My heart sank. “Mom, no. I’m not leaving you here with them. They’ll kill you.” “They’ll kill you first,” she said, tears streaming down her face. “You don’t understand, Aurora. Greg… he’s dangerous. And Marcus…” Her voice broke, and she clutched my hand tightly. “I can’t protect you anymore. You have to go. Run as far as you can. Don’t look back.” I shook my head, tears blurring my vision. “I can’t leave you here. I won’t.” “Aurora,” she said, her tone fierce despite her frailty. “If you stay, they’ll destroy you. You’re stronger than this. You can survive. But only if you leave. Please, for me.” Her words shattered something inside me. I wanted to argue, to fight, but deep down, I knew she was right. If I stayed, there would be nothing left of me. “Okay,” I whispered, my voice barely audible. “I’ll go.” Her relief was palpable, and she kissed my forehead, her tears mixing with mine. “Be safe, my darling. And never forget… I love you.” “I love you too.” **** The night air was cold and biting as I slipped out the back door. The cash my mother had given me was tucked into the pocket of my threadbare jacket, and I carried nothing else. The streets were dark, the shadows long and menacing, but I didn’t care. I just needed to get away. Every step felt like a betrayal, like I was abandoning my mother to those monsters. But I kept going, the echo of her words pushing me forward: “Run. Don’t look back.” I didn’t stop until the first light of dawn began to creep over the horizon. By then, I was miles away, my legs trembling and my body screaming for rest. I collapsed onto a bench in a deserted park, wrapping my arms around myself as I tried to block out the memories of the night before. Tears streamed down my face, and for the first time in years, I let myself cry. I cried for my mother, for the life I’d lost, for the innocence that had been stolen from me. But most of all, I cried because I didn’t know what came next. I was alone, broken, and hopeless. But as the sun rose higher, painting the sky in hues of gold and pink, a small spark ignited within me. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to remind me that I was still alive. And as long as I was alive, I had a chance to fight, to survive, to find something better. “This isn’t the end,” I told myself, wiping away my tears. “It’s just the beginning.” And with that thought, I stood up, squared my shoulders, and started walking. I didn’t know where I was going, but I knew one thing for certain: I would never go back.Aurora’s Pov I wanted to die of secondhand embarrassment. Alphas were supposed to be dignified, strong, and composed. Ryan? Ryan was screaming like a lunatic, making a scene in front of the entire hospital. The pain hit me harder, and I let out a sharp breath. Immediately, nurses rushed over with a hospital bed. Ryan ran beside me, putting on hospital gloves like he was about to deliver the baby. “I’m here for you, Aurora,” he said, his voice shaking. “I’m here.” The doctor arrived, a middle-aged man with a calm demeanor. “How are you feeling?” I barely had the energy to glare at him. “Like I want to poop.” Ryan’s eyes widened in horror. “WHAT?!” The doctor chuckled. “That means the baby is coming. Alright, Aurora, I’m going to need you to push.” I nodded, gripping Ryan’s hand as the nurses positioned me. “Keep your legs straight,” the doctor instructed. Ryan’s eyes darkened. “Why are you looking at my wife like that?” The doctor looked confused. “Because I’m delivering h
Ryan’s Pov(Three Years Later)I was just pouring Aurora a glass of juice, minding my own business, when suddenly….“RYAN!”The glass slipped from my hand, shattering against the counter. I spun around so fast I nearly dislocated something. My heart lurched into my throat as I bolted into the living room.“What happened? What happened? Are you okay? Who do I need to kill?”Aurora was standing there, eyes wide, hands gripping her stomach. Then she looked up at me and said the words that completely short-circuited my brain.“My water just broke.”I blinked. “What does that mean?”She gave me a look. “Ryan.”“What water? Did you spill something? Are you thirsty?” I was already turning back toward the kitchen, my brain refusing to process. She groaned and pointed at her belly. “THE BABY IS COMING.”My entire soul left my body.“The baby is coming?!” My voice hit a pitch I didn’t know I was capable of. “Like RIGHT NOW?!”Aurora, the love of my life, the mother of my unborn child, had the au
Aurora’s PovZiani’s eyes darkened as she stepped forward. “What do you mean you are not going with me?” Her voice was laced with disbelief. “We had a deal, Aurora.”I met her gaze without flinching. “Yes, I know we had a deal. But before we continue, I want to ask everyone in this room a question.”A murmur rippled through the council as they exchanged glances.“Go ahead,” one of the elders finally said.I turned, my eyes sweeping across every single person in the room. My voice was steady, unwavering.“Who is the moon goddess now?”Silence hung for a moment before, in unison, the room responded.“You are.”I shifted my gaze to Ziani. “And who is the leader now?”Her jaw tightened, but she didn’t hesitate. “You are.”A slow smile formed on my lips. “Then I make the rules.”The moment those words left my mouth, the room erupted into chaos.“I might not know everything about the Moon Goddess yet,” I continued over their voices, “but I will learn it in no time. And as long as I am in th
Aurora’s PovSilence swallowed the battlefield as Karen’s body went still. Her last words echoed in my mind, haunting and heavy. I had thought I was ready for this, that I was prepared to do whatever it took to protect what was mine, but as I stared at her lifeless form, all I felt was a deep, aching sorrow. This was never how I wanted it to be.The weight of everything crashed down on me all at once. My limbs trembled, and suddenly, the pain that had been numbed by adrenaline surged back, searing through my body like fire. My legs gave out.I barely registered the panicked voices around me before I hit the ground.Elliot, Caleb, and Ryan rushed toward me, their faces etched with worry.“I’m fine,” I muttered, though the pounding in my head and the sharp sting in my wounds said otherwise. “I’m just… just hot a little.”Ryan crouched beside me, his jaw clenched. “Hot a little? You’re burning up,” he snapped. His hands hovered over me as if he was afraid to touch me, afraid that I might
Karen’s PovThe battleground was silent for a moment, thick with tension. The crowd gathered, eyes locked on us, their whispers barely audible over the howling wind. I rolled my shoulders, cracking my knuckles, and took slow steps forward, never breaking eye contact with Aurora. She stood across from me, her body battered, her clothes stained with blood and dirt. Weakness radiated from her, yet she still held her chin high, defiance burning in her eyes.Pathetic."You should have stayed down when you had the chance," I sneered, my claws extending, itching to sink into her flesh. "This is your last warning, Aurora. Step aside and let me have what’s mine."She wiped blood from the corner of her mouth and spat onto the dirt. "Ryan was never yours, Karen. And he never will be."That was all I needed. With a growl, I lunged at her, my claws swiping toward her throat. She barely dodged, rolling to the side before springing to her feet. The fight had begun. The moment our bodies collided aga
Karen’s PovI have been watching. Waiting.Every day, I moved unseen through the corridors of this mansion, listening, observing. I watched them whisper about her, pray for her, cry for her. Aurora. Aurora. Aurora. Her name was on everyone’s lips, like she was some kind of savior. It was pathetic. She had actually left to break the curse, to throw herself into the jaws of death, and for what? Love? How foolish.I had given Ryan everything. My love, my loyalty, my soul. And still, he had chosen her. But I told myself it wasn’t over. I told myself I had time. That if I played my cards right, I could get him back. Then today happened. The mansion was alive with excitement. People were gathering. And when I saw what they were looking at, who they were looking at, my blood boiled.Aurora was back. She had survived. And I knew, at that moment, that if I didn’t act now, I would lose everything forever. So, I stepped into the mansion.Nobody stopped me. They all still saw me as the ex-Luna. R
