A NAME FROM THE PAST.

The next morning, we began preparing for another trip—this time, it would just be Liam and me.

I decided to go shopping. Not because I needed to, but because I wanted to. If we were walking into Shadow Pack territory, I intended to do so confidently. I wasn’t the jealous type but I wasn’t naive either. Everything Lia had put me through had hardened something inside me. I had learned my worth, and I wouldn’t allow another woman to undermine it.

“This one suits you,” the shopkeeper said, holding up a dress.

I took it, studying the soft fabric and elegant cut. “I think it does too,” I replied with a small smile.

As I tried it on, my phone buzzed.It was Zack.

I answered immediately, and the screen filled with a sight that made my chest warm—Fiona, cradling little Cecilia.

“She’s perfect,” I said softly.

Zack laughed. “She’s already got her mother wrapped around her finger.”

Fiona smiled tiredly but happily. “You should come visit soon.”
