THE BIRTH

We finally made it back from Lesion Pack, but my thoughts were already far away.

Fiona my mate,she was all I could think about.

Even with everything we had faced—the forest, the dangers, the things we almost didn’t survive,I had never truly broken down. Because through it all, I knew she was waiting for me. And now she was due any moment.

“I’m really about to become a father,” I murmured to myself, a small smile forming on my lips.

This trip had given me more than just answers about Selene and the missing girls. Being with Liam and Maya again had helped rebuild something I thought was lost—trust. Slowly, carefully, but it was there. And to me, that mattered more than anything else we accomplished.

When Liam finally gave me permission to leave, I went straight to find Maya.

“I’m heading out,” I told her softly. “I need to see Fiona.”

Her eyes softened. “I wish I could come with you.”
