Chapter 40 - Maya's POV

The day of the ceremony finally arrived, and I could barely contain my nerves. I woke up before dawn, the faint glow of the moon still hanging over the Crescent Veil pack. Today, they were officially welcoming me and I wasn’t sure whether to feel honored or terrified.

Downstairs, the kitchen was already buzzing with activity. Luna Clarissa and Roseline were baking, their laughter filling the air as the scent of freshly made pastries drifted through the room.

“Good morning, Maya,” Luna Clarissa greeted warmly, brushing flour off her hands. “Come on, we saved the fun part for you, frosting duty.”

I smiled, grabbing the spatula. “Frosting? You mean the part that makes me look like I actually know what I’m doing?”

Roseline giggled. “Exactly! You’ll fit right in.”
