Zack slammed the office door behind him, his face thunderous.

“What the hell were you thinking, Liam?” he barked, pacing the room. “Do you realize what this looks like? The whole pack is already talking!”

I clenched my jaw, trying to stay calm. “I didn’t do anything, Zack. I woke up and she was already there.”

He scoffed. “That’s not what people saw! You let her in , even if you didn’t mean to!”

I ran a hand through my hair, frustration bubbling in my chest. “I didn’t let her in! She must’ve— I don’t know— sneaked in or—”

Zack cut me off sharply. “You’re the Alpha, Liam! You can’t afford to not know what happens under your roof. One stupid move and they’ll take Maya’s title before she even returns!”

I slammed my fist against the desk. “I know, damn it! You think I wanted this?!”

He fell silent, staring at me for a moment before sighing. “You have to fix this before Maya hears about it. Because if she sees what I just saw—”

My phone buzzed. I glanced at it ,then froze.
