The tension inside this packhouse could be sliced open with a knife.

Wolves pacing. Warriors training. Elders whispering about curses and visions.

But me?

I was enjoying every second of it.

With mother back, everything was moving exactly the way I wanted.

I watched the panic spread like wildfire—and smiled. Let them all panic,the more they scrambled. The greater the chaos,the easier it’d be to bring Maya to her knees.

My hand rested on my stomach. The baby kicked again — relentless, like he wanted to claw his way out.

I frowned.

“‘Calm down, you little parasite,’ I snapped, irritation dripping from my voice.”

There was no warmth in my voice. Only fear and annoyance.

What if Damon realized the truth once the child was born?

What if the resemblance was too strong?

I paced in my room angrily.
