Miriam had been gazing at the stars through the window of her room for what seemed to be an hour now. CHAPTER 24Miriam noticed that Carlos treated her differently at the office ever since the little kiss. He would bring her sweet milk or coffee with a lot of whipping cream on the top, he would take her home every day and pick her up every morning so they could head to work together. but today was quite different because Carlos had called her on the phone telling her that he couldn't pick her up today because he had an early morning meeting."Why do you still go to work in your condition? get a break from work Miriam, look at your condition!" FIVE DAYS LATER It hasn't even been up to a week since Miriam left the hospital and she was practically dressed up to go back to work again. Her coworkers at the company had been gossiping about how she had chosen work over some few rest at home but she absolutely paid no attention to them. She didn't even have any care about her son's situation, she was practically acting like he didn't exist. She was having some toast and milk before she headed to the office as Eleanor stepped into the kitchen holding the crying baby. "Miriam, you haven't fed the baby once and you are intending on going to work just after five days of being discharged from the hospital! Why don't you check on the baby at least?"
