ANMELDEN~Brady~ I see two dark haired beauties walking my way. Callie looks like she’s complaining about something, and Lindsey is laughing at whatever she’s telling her. Goddess I love that laugh. I almost want to record it and listen to it over and over again. Though I can think of some sounds I’d rather hear her making. Shit. I can’t think about that right now. I don’t want to look like a creep. The last thing I need is a hard on when she gets in the truck. I wave at her through the windshield to make sure they know it’s me. Lindsey waves back and Callie gives me a glare. They head around to the passenger side, and I hear the doors open. “When is the last time you washed your seats?” Callie asks, eyeing my truck interior suspiciously. “Um I vacuumed today.” “Thanks for exposing our efforts, Callie,” Knight rumbles in my head. “Why? Is something on the seat?” I ask, turning around to look. I don’t remember anything being back there. “I hope not. Do you at least clean
~Lindsey~ Calculus seems to fly by. The serenity of this classroom is something I wish I could bottle up to keep for times of chaos, like science class. I don’t see how anyone couldn’t be successful in Mrs. Howell’s class. She might be the best teacher I’ve ever had; it’s like she just knows how to explain things in a way I can understand them. Apparently everyone else feels the same; when someone asks a question, she answers it briefly but thoroughly as she can. She had to catch me up on a few things, but I feel like it clicked the first time, which is impressive for a subject this complex. The bell rings, and I’m convinced someone fast forwarded time. I walk out with Willow; Deanna and Callie are on the other side of the room, so they left first. I can’t help but notice Brady isn’t here waiting on me. Some part of me feels sad, like it craves his attention. I knew that he’d get familiar with me and his infatuation would stop. I guess science class was the last straw today.
~Brady~ I may have overheard Lindsey tell her friends that I’m not serious about her. And while I may have taken it a bit too far, I wouldn’t mind becoming her mate in five years if I haven’t found someone. It ended up being a great deal for me. “Mind if I walk you? I’m just down the hall.” I ask Lindsey. “I guess. Though I’m not sure after the stunt you pulled in science,” she rolls her eyes. “Why are you upset with me? After all you said yes,” I turn up the charm and open the door for her. Colton grabs it from me to hold it for her friends. “You didn’t give me much of a choice. Besides you disrupted Mrs. Harrison’s entire class.” I can’t help but laugh. “If it wasn’t me, it would be someone else. Are you really mad at me for wanting you to be my mate?” She turns to face me quickly. “I’m sorry. Did you just say you WANTED me to be your mate?” “Why wouldn’t I?” She eyes me carefully. “Look I’m not going to hold you to it. I can take a joke. Even if it put a target on my
~Lindsey~ I’m convinced Brady has lost his mind. Deanna and I head towards the cafeteria to meet up with Callie. She’s not going to believe what just happened. I could sense the rage off of Jacqueline from the other end of the class; pissed off might be an understatement. She bolted out the second the bell rang, not that I was far behind. I’m determined to avoid Brady as much as possible for the rest of the day. Shit. I just remembered he’s picking us up. So much for that plan. Deanna and I sit our bags down at a table before hopping in the line for chicken tenders. Apparently they’re good because the line behind us is steadily growing. They soon open up another station to serve more people. When we get back to the table, Callie is sitting, munching on a salad with Willow. “Hi. You probably don’t remember me.” Willow says quietly. “We have next class together.” “Of course I do, Willow! I don’t forget that quickly,” I laugh and have a seat. “Callie invited me t
~Brady~ Class goes by quickly, but that’s probably because Mrs. Howell is such a good teacher. She manages to keep my mind off of Lindsey, mostly at least. I’m a bit nervous that Jacqueline will try something. I know Lindsey can take up for herself, but i still worry about her. The bell rings, and I head to get Lindsey with Colton and Grant in tow. She’s just down the hall, so I don’t leave early. We meet her and Callie as they exit. “Ah our escorts have arrived. How lovely.” Callie remarks sarcastically. “What? You don’t want to walk with the hottest guy in school?” Colton says, gesturing to himself. “Sure. Where is he?” Callie looks around, acting oblivious. I laugh, but the guys roll their eyes. “Wow Brady. I didn’t know you hung around bullies.” I hear Aviana remark. Jacqueline comes up and loops her arm through her best friend’s. “I heard she likes pushing people around.” I’m about to comment, but once again Lindsey beats me to it. “I’m sorry. Who are yo
~Lindsey~ Mr. Pierce is covering the Baroque Period in music today. He’s not the most engaging teacher, but he’s nice enough. I’m definitely going to have to study though; for some reason the way he explains information does not connect with my brain. Callie is unusually quiet; she doesn’t seem like her normal self. I keep looking at her to make sure she’s ok. It’s times like these when I wish I had a wolf to mind link. Mr. Pierce lets us pack up and talk five minutes before the bell. Guess it won’t hurt to ask what’s wrong. “Hey. You ok?” My concern laces my voice. Callie looks at me. “Yeah I’m alright. I’m more worried about you.” “Me?” I’m confused. I guess she still thinks I’m upset from this morning. “I’ve gotten over what was bothering me this morning. It’s still on my mind, but I’ve decided not to let it bother me.” “That’s not it. I’m worried you’re falling for Brady’s charms. He’s an alpha, sure. But I was serious yesterday when I said he has never been in
~Brady~ This bitch must have lost her senses. I see Lindsey fall to the ground, hitting her head on the floor. Immediately I’m by her side, not that I was far off. I look up and see a smirk that is all too familiar. Jacqueline. “OMG Lindsey! You need to be careful!” She laughs and steps aro
~Lindsey~ I’m so screwed. I swore to myself I wouldn’t get involved with anyone here. And now I’m falling for the alpha’s son. Again. He reminds me of my first love, Jagger, but Brady is fiercer, stronger, and braver. I can tell everyone respects him; I have yet to hear anyone speak badly of him
~Brady~ I mind link Coach Mabry after dropping Lindsey off. “I need to blow off steam. Think I could get into the weight room for class today?” “Sure thing. I’m letting you guys have a free day anyways. Take someone with you to spot.” He replies. Colton and Grant meet me on the way to the gy
~Lindsey~ The morning goes by pretty quickly. Mr. Matt and Callie are disagreeing about something so I manage to get by without saying much. We gather in the courtyard with everyone else. Apparently this is the norm unless it’s raining. Deanna joins us shortly thereafter and starts talking about
