[Dante]
I walked in and she was rubbing her chest. It was none of my business. I came here to verify the property's list but I lied to Raven I was here to check on Kali. "How are you now?" I eyed her. I had to ask because her mother was there. "I'm fine. Thank you." She said, looking at me suspiciously. "So can I clear the properties now?" I asked. "Yes. She answered almost immediately." "Such a stupid woman." One of the servants came in and gave her bottled water. "I hope you don't choke on this." She said. Raven wasn't in the room anymore. Kali didn't even say anything. On a normal day, she would have landed a slap on the face of the servant. The servant opened the wardrobe and threw some clothes on the bed. "Your mom asked me to supervise your bathing but I'm sure you can do it yourself. Wear this when you're done. Spendthrift!" She hissed and left. Some outsiders came in to greet her but she was unfazed. Even with the bad comments they all had about her, she was unmoved. "So thick-skinned," I commented. "I hope the moon goddess gives you a long life to spend all the money you've earned from selling your father's assets." One of the visitors said sarcastically and left. "When will you be leaving the Blackpack? We don't need an evil child like you? Your father doesn't deserve such a child like you. I hope he rests in peace wherever he is. I'm sure he died of heartache, seeing you living life like this." Another woman said and left. I folded my arms enjoying the drama while Daniel my beta was marking out the list of the assets in a paper with all the property documents and transfer of ownership. Kali just continued eating her food and pretended the servant and the outsiders didn't exist. "Guess amnesia has such a good effect on people," I said to myself. I noticed the way she was staring at me. She took a glance at me and when I stared back at her, she diverted her gaze to her food. "Why is she staring at me?" I eyed her. I hate her so much. What kind of daughter sells off all her father's legacy immediately after his death? Kali's mother walked in. "Thank you so much for checking up on her." She said and I smiled. "It's nothing ma." "Are you done?" I asked Daniel and he nodded positively. "We'll take our leave now," I said and hugged Kali's mother. I kissed her cheeks and left. [Selene] I was just thinking of Alpha Dante and he walked in. I was staring at him, staring at the golden bloodline in him. It was so violent and ruthless. He came to ask about the properties and I cleared all for him since that's what Kali wanted. So many people came in to curse and insult me. I didn't even care. They were talking to Kali and not me. I'm Selene. He noticed I had been taking glances at him and he eyed me. After checking all the properties, he left and my mother sat with me. "I want a job, Mom" I announced and her jaw dropped. "Don't you want to move out anymore?" She asked and I shook my head negatively. "This is new. You sold all your father's properties even though I opposed it. You did all of that just to move out and now you want a job?" She asked and I nodded," Yes, I want a job." "This is great news. I'm so happy." She said and hugged me tightly. She released me and her eyes were teary again. She cries over the simplest thing. There are no jobs for you since you've sold all our properties. "And are you sure you don't want to spend money at home?" She asked again and I bopped my head saying no. "I seriously don't even know who to call." She thought for a second before grabbing something out of her purse. "I and Alpha Dante's mother are close friends. I'll ask him to get you a job." She said and she clicked something on the strange item "What was this strange thing?" I asked. "It's a phone Kali, I hate this amnesia thing." She said and called. She placed it on speaker and I could hear it ring. "Hello, Dante." She greeted. "Hi, ma." He replied with his deep husky voice. "I have a request but promise you'll grant it for me." She begged. "Sure ma. Anything for you." He said. "I need you to get a job for Kali. She wants to work now." She said happily. The joy on her face was just everything. "What? No ma. There's no job available." He refused. I already know instantly he hates me but I can't seem to figure out why. "Please Dante, Just find her anything. Something that can keep her busy." She insisted. "I'm sorry ma. You know you can't ask me for something without me giving it to you but this is impossible. I have no job available." He declined. "Dante! Anything. Any job at all please." She begged. "Fine. I'll look for something." He said. "Thank you so much. Thank you." She said and dropped the call. I couldn't hear his voice again. "Thank you, Mother," I said and she hugged me. "Anything for my daughter." She packed my plates and stood up. "Goodnight my dear. Rest well." She said and left turning off the light. ***The next day*** I woke up very early, happy I'll be going to see Alpha Dante. My job as a protector has begun and I won't repeat the mistakes I repeated during Alpha Jareth's time. I opened the wardrobe and there were lots of clothes, shoes, and bags in there. They were all stored in a mini house. I didn't know what to pick. I finally picked a lace pink gown that ended at my knee and a black shoe. I took a pink purse to compliment my dress. There were other shoes but I couldn't wear them, they were high and they made me fall every attempt I made to walk in them. I went into the bathroom, took my bath, dried my body with a towel, and applied cream on my body. I wore my clothes and shoes and packed my hair into a neat bun. I got downstairs and my mother had prepared breakfast. Tea and bread. "Good morning ma." I greeted and she kissed my checks. "Good morning. How was your night?" She asked and she placed some bread in my mouth. "It was fine ma," I answered as I sat to eat my food. Another woman emerged from upstairs and joined us at the table. I greeted her and she rolled her eyes at me then hissed. I stood up as I was uncomfortable with her presence. I seriously don't know why there are lots of people living in the house. I dipped my tea and then took my purse. "Bye, Mom," I said and she hugged me for the last time. I got out and the driver eyed me too. "Just get in fast." He ordered and I got in. "Why do they all hate Kali?" I asked myself. He drove off and stopped after what seemed to be an hour. I was happy as I got down in front of a gigantic building. I wasn't surprised anymore. I walked in. "Good morning ma. Are you Kali Greenwood?" A woman asked. "Yes," I answered. "Follow me." She said and I did. I was taken to his office. He was seated and cladded in a suit. He looked so attractive from where he was seated. "Good morning." I greeted and he ignored me. "You'll be our office assistant. Another word for cleaner and messenger. You'll clean up the mess in my office and you'll also help me get some stuff or submit some documents whenever I need you." He said with a straight face.[Dante's POV] I was sitting in the living room, scrolling through my phone, when the front door burst open and Kali stormed in, her eyes blazing with anger. She slammed the door shut behind her, making me jump. "Where are you coming from?" I asked, anger etched on my face. Kali's eyes narrowed, her chest heaving with agitation. "It's none of your business." she spat, her voice venomous. I raised an eyebrow, surprised. "What's your problem Kali? What do you want? Why are you so adamant on ruining me?" Kali's gaze flashed with irritation. "What do you mean? Please Dante, I have no time for this. Just let me be." I held up my hands, placating. "I know where you're coming from." My expression changed from irritation to anger as I furrowed my brows. "Wait, Kali. You're coming from Mr. Johnson's house, aren't you?" I accused, my voice was low and even. Kali's eyes faltered, and she took a step back, her face pale. "Dante, I can explain-" But I cut her off, my anger boiling
[Selene/Kali]I stood outside the office building, my heart racing with anticipation. I had been waiting for this meeting with Alpha Jareth for what felt like an eternity. My mind was a jumble of questions and doubts, but I pushed them aside and took a deep breath.I had to do this. I had to know the truth. I stole his number from Dante's phone just to schedule a meeting with him.I pushed open the door and stepped inside, my eyes adjusting to the dim lighting. The receptionist looked up from her desk and smiled."Mrs Kali Dalton, right on time. Mr. Johnson is waiting for you."I nodded, my mouth dry. I followed her to a large wooden door, which she opened with a flourish."Mr. Johnson," she announced, "Mrs Dalton is here to see you."I stepped inside, my eyes fixed on the figure behind the desk. Alpha Jareth looked up, his eyes piercing."Ah, Selene. Thank you for coming. Please, take a seat."I sat down, my hands clenched in my lap. What was I going to learn?"Mr. Johnson, I mean Al
***Dante's POV***"Mr Johnson is here sir. I saw him downstairs." Daniel rushed in, breaking the news to me.Mr Johnson is the CEO of Johnson Group of companies and I've always wanted to work with him."Where?" I asked."He's with Kali. Seems they know each other. This would be good for us, maybe she'll help us convince him." He informed.I've always known Kali to be a whore but doing this at my office with someone I've been trying to work with for years is annoying."Where are they?" I smirked."The parking lot." "Great." I rolled my eyes as I dashed out of my office.Knowing the kind of woman Kali was, she could be doing anything with him by now. I got there and she was talking to him while he laughed at whatever joke she made.My voice cut through the air, laced with venom."Well, well, well. Look what we have here. My little wife, with another man."She turned to see my eyes blazing with anger, my face twisted in a snarl. Mr Johnson's eyes narrowed, his expression unreadable."D
[Selene/Kali]I sighed, feeling a pang of regret as I gazed at Dante's yelling at me. It had just been a day since their wedding and he was already yelling at her like that. I knew I was the one who had initiated the drinking that fateful night, the night that had led to our hasty marriage. Now, I couldn't help but wonder if I had made a mistake."Why did I push him to keep drinking?" I thought to myself, my mind racing with self-doubt. "Why did I think it was a good idea to spend the night with him?"My thoughts swirled with remorse as I recalled the events that had transpired. I had been the one to suggest we drink and I only did that to gain the courage to tell him I wasn't Kali but Selene, the protector of the golden bloodline and his protector. And now, here they were, married and barely speaking.I took a deep breath and decided to take action. I couldn't just sit around feeling sorry for myself anymore. I need to make things right with Dante and be close to him. I packed a l
[Dante]I tugged hard at my hair hoping what I saw was a dream and not reality. How many drinks must I have had to do that with Kali of all people? I has truly defiled Kali and had no choice than to marry her. I would only marry her for that reason and nothing else. I would never treat her like a wife nor would I recognize her as the Luna of my pack.__________It was morning and I couldn't bear to watch Kali walk down the aisle. It made my eyes twitch. I had wanted to show up in a jean trouser and shirt but Daniel had forced me to wear a suit. I just wanted to get it over with.“Do you Kali Greenwood take Dante Dalton to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, till death do you part?” The priest asked.“I do.” she answered sharply."Golddigger." I mumbled.“Do you Dante Dalton take Kali Greenwood to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, in poverty and wealth, till deat
[Narration]Kali and Dante sat in the living room several drinks deep into the night. They're both visibly intoxicated, and their conversation has taken a bitter turn."Ugh, you know what I can't stand? You. That's right, I hate you, Kali." Dante said sarcastically "Wow, Dante, that's some deep insight," Kali repliedDante rolls his eyes and downs another shot."I mean it!""God, why are you always such a pain? You're so irritating and stubborn, it's like you're trying to ruin my life. Why do you always come back? Why did you leave the first time? When we were still betrothed. Did you hate me that much?" Dante scoffed."Oh yeah, it's my fault that you're a mess. Please, I've got nothing to do with it. You're just a self-destructive jerk who can't handle his own issues. I'm only here to protect you."Their voices rise as the tension between them builds. Dante leans forward, his face inches from Kali's."You know what?" Dante gritted his teeth.Kali felt Dante's breath hot against her
