Chapter 11

* Dorian's POV *

" You saw her guard? Did he see you? " Caddel asked hurriedly.

" I think he did 'cause he was gone within a flash and I saw this little smirk on his lips " Conri reported and Caddel looked at me.

" I don't understand, what business does Luna Daciana has with this family that she wants them dead? " Kaden asked with a raised brow.

" Probably she wanna get to you through them. " Caddel said, staring directly at me.

" Why would she be targeting Dorian? " Kaden asked.

" That, I don't know " He mumbled and I sighed looking away.

All that was bothering me at that moment was that innocent family lying lifelessly on the floor.

I don't think Luna Daciana did this, she wouldn't. She's supposed to be a Queen and a protector of all is not hurt innocent people and what business do I have with her?

Oh God, I sighed again, even my wolf seem restless as he kept humming silently in my head.

The Royal Doctor got on his feet and we all rushed to him.

He sighed sadly and then shook his head. " It's going to be a miracle if they survive this, it's only a matter of hours before they die. I'm sorry " He said and I shut my eyes.

" What caused this? Didn't you say they were getting better earlier? Is it the potion? "

" I'm afraid it is " He lowered his head.

" Didn't you say the potion is a potent one and would have no side effects!! " I yelled, losing my anger at once and Caddel rushed to our middle, pulling me away from the doctor who fell to the floor immediately, pleading for his life.

" If they die! I'm having you killed! " I said and then turned to Kaden.

" Bring them to the palace," I said and then walked out of the house.

Luna Daciana? Oh God...

* The Royal Palace *

All elders were gathered including my beta and Omega who were on both sides.

I was sitting on my throne with a composed look on but they could all see the distressed look within me and they all had their tongues tied, trying to carefully pick their words so they wouldn't get on my bad side.

And trust me, they should have their tongues tied if not.

I returned my gaze to Ashina who was standing next to The Royal Doctor, their head both bowed lightly.

They were both shivering. I really shouldn't do this to Ashina but do I have a choice now? She's ruined things.

" You care to tell us where you got the potion from Ashina? " Caddel asked coldly.

Ashina only kept mute, her head bowed. " Ashina! " He raised his voice a bit.

I saw her resist for a while before she raised her head to meet mine but I looked away.

She then turned to Caddel with her lips shaking slightly when she saw the cold look he had on.

" From a witch " She muttered and my eyes widened and everyone else in the room.

The elders began mumbling to themselves. " Quiet! " I ordered and the hall went dead quiet again.

" A witch? " I asked unbelievably.

" Yes My Lord " She mumbled under her breath.

" Do you know the consequences of what you just said!? " I asked, raising my voice a bit.

" I apologize Alpha Dorian " She muttered.

" Is your apology going to save them now? " I couldn't hold it anymore and let out my anger.

" Ashina! How could you be careless!!? They're dying! Cause of your silly mistake! Why did you? yyou'siweighed and then swallowed the rest of my words.

" I'm sorry " Her voice cracked as tears began pooling in her eyes.

" I didn't know. I. I just wanted to help. I swear " She muttered with silent tears.

I shut my eyes and then opened them again, I turned my gaze to the family lying lifelessly on the ground, they seem almost dead and I bit my lips angrily.

I hate feeling like this, feeling powerless, helpless, unable to do a thing, and watching as my people die slowly. They don't deserve this, they don't.

I sighed silently and then raised my head to the elders. " Elder Sebastian. " I called lowly and he moved forward immediately.

" Your Highness " He bowed lightly.

" What's her punishment according to the law?" I asked my tone void of emotions I could hear the silent gasps and I could also feel Ashina's gaze on mine.

" Elder Sebastian! I asked a question " I said.

" If the victim dies, the one responsible would be hanged " Elder Sebastian muttered forcefully and murmur in the hall.

" A word from any of you could get you killed! " I said coldly and the hall went dead silent.

I turned my gaze back to Elder Sebastian. " What if the victim lives? " I asked.

" The one responsible would be in the cell for three days," He said and I nodded then turned to Ashina.

" You don't wanna die right? " I asked coldly and she nodded slowly.

" Do you have a cure for them? Probably from your witch? " I asked and she looked away.

" Ashina! Answer the damn question! " I shouted.

" She said they can't survive it " Ashina muttered, earning gasps from everyone in the hall.

" Ashina, how dare you say a thing like that! " Caddel yelled.

" I'm sorry, I.. "

" Take her to the cell, she would be hanged if they dies," I said coldly and I heard loud and audible gasps.

The whole elders fell to the floor immediately. " My Lord, you can't do that! " They all chorused while Ashina stared at me with unbelievable eyes.

She was shocked and so were Caddel and Kaden as they both turned to me with widened eyes.

" Your Highness! Please reconsider your decision! " The elders chorused once again.

" I.. "

The door suddenly pushed open and she walked in gracefully like she always does, her long robe sweeping the floor like usual and her guard behind her.

She got to the front and looked up at me and weirdly, even through her mask I felt like she was staring at me coldly.

She turned to look at her environment and her gaze finally settled on the family lying lifelessly on the floor and then to Ashina who was still staring at me in disbelief and then at me.

" Seems Alpha Dorian once again has proved to be a powerless king in his kingdom " She suddenly said, making everyone turn to her in shock at her blunt words.

" I have the antidote. " She brought out a jar.
