Chapter 17

* Dorian's POV *

" The witch " She muttered, looking away from my gaze and I raised my brows at once .

" Who's she and what does she want with you? " I asked at once.

" She gave me the potion," She said simply, making me raise my brows more.

" Ashina! " I called in a snap and she snapped her face to mine.

" You don't know who she is, do you? " I asked with a worried look on.

" Does it matter? She only asked to help, I didn't know she was a fake one, I guess " She muttered, unsurely.

" What was she saying? " I asked.

" I asked to see her inform her about her lack of real powers and she kept insisting the potion was the right one and I had probably gotten it misplaced somewhere " She replied and I sighed worriedly.

I stood from the couch I was and walked over to her on the little bed available in the cell. I bent before her and pulled her head downwards to mine.

" Stay far away from her, you don't know her, no one does. She might be dangerous and next time doesn't take help from strangers, see where it got you " I said worriedly.

She squatted my hands off slowly.

" I know, stop treating me like a baby and stop acting like you care not when you almost had me killed " She scoffed.

" You know I wouldn't have done that right? " I said with a little sigh but she scoffed the more.

" Right. Says someone who didn't even spare me a glance saying those words that almost had me hanged to death, I couldn't believe my ears when I heard you say those words " She muttered, looking away from my face.

I sighed silently and then got on my feet.

" I will come to visit you some other time," I said and then walked out of her cell.

" You look miserable " Adalwolf mocked as I got outside her cell.

" Will you ever stop making fun of my miserable life? " I asked simply as I returned to my lounge.

" I won't since I share out of your miserable life and you are the cause of our miserable life," He said.

" Is that why you've been refusing to come out? You know it would be so shocking if these people find out their Alpha's wolf is stuck inside of him and he can't shift " I said.

" Your Highness " Some maids passing them bowed lightly and I only responded with a wave.

" I'm not stuck, I just refuse to leave this place. You've made my life hell and damn lonely for me already, what more damage are you going to cause me when you shift? " He scoffed.

" And when did my wolf become a coward? " I teased with a scoff as I made my way to my lounge and the guards guarding it bowed lightly when I got to them.

I walked in and took off my Royal attire, leaving me in shorts, I grabbed a white shirt and placed it on.

I made my way to my king-sized bed and landed on it with a thud.

I shut my eyes and like planned, I dozed off immediately.

* 10 years ago *

* Two days after my birthday *

" Your Highness " I bowed lightly as I got to the front before the tread boards leading to the King's throne. He was sitting on it.

" You requested to see me? " I asked, raising my head and he hummed in response, finally dropping the scrolls in his hand.

" Yeah," He said, finally raising his mind to look at me.

" It's been two days already since your birthday? " He said, more like a question getting me confused.

" You were eighteen two days ago and we all know you were supposed to meet your mate," He said and Adalwolf howled angrily in my head like he had been doing ever since two days ago.

He was angry and he was in pain, I knew it but it wasn't my fault, I just couldn't do it, I'm a Royal one, and being paired with someone like that would tarnish my image, and even Dad's, he wouldn't even support it.

" Dorian! " His words jolted me out of my thoughts and I raised my head to his.

" My King? " I called absentmindedly.

" I'm waiting for your response. Who's your mate? Is she also someone of Royal? You must have met her at the party right? " He asked eager to know.

" I haven't met her, " I said at once and his face went pale.

" You didn't meet your mate? " He asked in shock and I nodded.

" Why didn't you inform me yesterday!? " He snapped.

" I didn't think it was something that crucial " I replied.

" It is! It is Dorian! You're the future king and you need a Luna! But here you are, you were supposed to meet her two days ago but you haven't! " He said, getting off his throne at once.

" I'm sorry " I bowed lightly as he climbed down the tread boards to reach me.

" And why are you not bothered? " He eyed me.

" I still believe I will meet her " I replied simply.

" I don't care, we have to see the old monk. If something's wrong, Follow me! " He ordered and at once, walked away and I followed behind.

" It's your fa, ult Da d. It's because of you I rejected her. She isn't someone the people would accept as the future Luna. I only saved us from embarrassment dad, I'm not wrong, am I? " I muttered to myself as I walked after him.
