Chapter 16

* Dorian's POV *

" Is this your way of trying to belittle my power? " I asked gently.

I could see her raised brow even through her masked face.

" Are you openly picking a fight with me, Alpha Dorian? " She asked with a tiny scoff on her lips.

" I'm not trying to pick a fight, I don't see anything wrong in questioning you Luna Daciana," I said flatly and I could hear Caddel's silent gasps wondering where I going the sudden bravery from but seriously I wasn't acting rude, I was just pissed off.

She had no right to do that, maybe I'm not only pissed off because of this but still.

" Do you realize the consequences of what you're doing right now? " She asked, sounding more stern than usual and I knew she found my words offensive.

" I don't mean to be offensive my queen but you have no right to back off wars on my behalf. I can handle things myself and you just made us look powerless to them " I said and for the very first time, she chuckled, dryly.

She leaned back against the seat and sat more comfortably.

" That wasn't the plan but if this is also in it, I can't be more than happy," She said with a sarcastic laugh making me raise my brows.

" She means every word, " Adalwolf said in my head.

" What do you mean? " I questioned but he was out.

" But you should be happy I did because this so-called war would have been a total disaster. Your kingdom would have lost for the first time. I could sense death... " She said like a seer seeing the vision right before she would say.

" Deaths, deaths of your loved ones. " She glanced at Caddel who shrink lightly.

I couldn't see but I guessed it happened, a smirk played on her lips.

" Don't dare me, Alpha Dorian, instead say thank you " She said and then got on her feet before walking out of view.

" She isn't right about that, is she? " Caddel asked behind me.

" I can't read minds, can I? " I replied simply.

" I don't think she can see visions, or does she? " Kaden added.

" Who knows " I replied simply and then shut my eyes lightly.

" She sounds like she has a thing against me " I muttered to their hearing.

" Yeah, she does " Adalwolf answered in my head.

" Why? " I asked him.

" I don't know, find out yourself " He replied.

" Yeah, I noticed so too," Caddel said as he sat on the seat beside mine.

" Your Highness " I heard Dolph's voice and I raised my head to his.

" Welcome," I said and he bowed lightly.

" It was Luna Daciana," He said simply and I nodded before he could process it.

" Yeah I know," I said.

" You found out? "

" We asked her " I replied and he nodded.

" Your damsel is in distress " Adalwolf suddenly said in my head with a scoff.

" Ashina? " I asked confusedly.

" Who else " He scoffed the more and I got on my feet immediately.

" Where are you going? " Caddel asked.

" I will be right back " I replied and then walked out of the room.

I headed to Ashina's cell. On getting there, I can hear voices from in there. I stood on the spot I was and stretched my hearing.

" It was fake! And that's the reason why I'm here! They almost died! All because of your fake potion! " Ashina yelled at whoever it was.

I tried to inhale the person's scent but I couldn't, my sense of smell was blocked all of a sudden.

" What's wrong? " I asked Adalwolf.

" Don't try to, it's a witch" He said and I raised my brows.

What does Ashina have to do with a witch? Then I recalled what she had said that day.

" I got it from a witch "

I walked over to her cell immediately and ok getting there, Ashina turned to the entrance at once like she had sensed someone.

I ignored her and eye searched for the witch but I saw no one.

" Witches have magic," Adalwolf said with a scoff before I could even ask.

" What are you doing here? " Ashina asked at once as the cell's door opened for me.

I raised my brows as I walked over to the couch in the cell and sat on it.

" I can't come here? " I asked with a suspicious look on.

" Of course not, it's your kingdom anyways " She scoffed.

" I heard some voices in here. Was someone here? " I asked, hoping she would tell me the truth.

" There was no one in here " She replied simply.

" You sure? " I furrowed my brows and she stared intently at me.

" Did you see someone in here? " She asked with a suspicious look on.

" No I didn't, I only heard inaudible voices " I replied, looking away from her gaze and looking around.

" I was talking to Aurora " She replied and I only hummed in response, not wanting to question further.

Aurora is her wolf.

" You're not going to ask me why I preferred to speak with her with my voice outside? " She asked suspiciously.

" I just didn't want to " I replied, crossing my legs on each other.

" You know someone was in here, don't you? " She asked and I felt her gaze intently on mine and I turned my face to hers.

Staring at her intently just like she was. " Who was it? " I asked, this time around hoping she doesn't lie to me again.
