Chapter 44

Brody returned a few minutes later wearing a black suit. His eyes zoned in on me, his eyes going up and down my exposed body. Unlike a few months before I didn’t squirm away out of his gaze. I still wasn’t comfortable with his outright staring, but I was getting better – he was making me more confident in my own skin.

Brody cleared his throat and looked away. “As much as I really don’t want to leave you here, when you’re naked, but I was an hour late for the meeting yesterday. I can’t be late again” he sighed before bending down next to the bathtub. “You look after yourself and our pup”. He kissed me quickly before standing up and leaving.

Once I finished in the bath, I got out and changed quickly. “Alli?” I heard a familiar voice from downstairs. I smiled as I bounded downstairs to find a group of people inspecting the broken tables and chairs in the lounge. Mason, Corey, Jessica and Dylan were all waiting for me.
