“Where are you taking me?” I asked, a little confused and worried after Caden ordered me to get ready and pack a few clothes.

The weather was still gray. The clouds were heavy and threatening to pour heavy rains. I watched Caden’s face scowl in frustration while looking up at the sky. It seemed he was expecting something from the weather, which made it a little intriguing.

I frowned. I wanted to ask what he was up to, but I also wanted to be surprised, so I just kept my mouth shut and secretly glanced at him while suppressing a smile. I didn’t know why I was in such a good mood, but I was happy he gave me so much time and attention when I didn’t ask him to, which was strange. I never felt so significant in his life before.

Or maybe because of the baby...

It was always because of the baby, idiot.

My eyes went down to the bulge on my belly. I couldn’t believe the little thing forming inside me was making me jealous.
