Chapter Nineteen

Clarissa

I turned around and I saw Dacre standing behind me with a cocky grin. Up close he looked even more enticing and the clear blue of his eyes was reflected in the warm lighting of the mall.

“At least you admit that you would not mind chasing girls”

I replied and his smile widened.

“Do you know what lies I had to tell Silas to come here? Poor guy is waiting by the ice cream stand or something while I am here, wondering what made you call me to a mall. I thought you might slip in the room number of your hotel.”

I rolled my eyes at him and cleared my throat.

“Funny. I almost laughed.”

Then I took his hand and dragged him a bit farther away from the crowd to talk to him in a bit of privacy.

“Miranda. I want to talk about her.”

His shoulders immediately tensed and he asked me sharply, “What is there to talk about?”

I placed my hands on my hips and asked, “You are hiding something from me and you lied to the council head too. Why would you do that?”

He rubbed his chin though
