The Wedding

"Pity you?"

H examined me for a while. "I feel like you do. Was it because I was unconscious? Or is it something else?"

I swallowed. The memory of the grand alpha and Lily's threats slowly came back to me and I turned away.

"Maybe I was just being tender. Being tender is...very close to pity."

He sighed. "Would you want to marry me tomorrow? I made the decision all on my own and I guess I should listen to you first."

"Do you think I would have a different answer? Didn't you chose me because you knew...I would willingly come?"

"You make it sound like I take you for granted." He said. "You make it sound like I didn't wonder where you were when I woke up."

"This is torture." I said to him. I wasn't sure what I meant however. Was it what he was facing? Or what I was facing?

He opened his mouth to talk, but nothing came out of it, and he slowly pursed his lips agsin. "Rest well."

I watched him close the door then sat there on the solo bed, blinking back the uncertainty I felt. So what now
