Chapter Forty Two

All eyes were on me when I entered the classroom. Maybe it was because my grandmother had died or maybe it was my appearance. It was a new me. I got a haircut, a much shorter one. I dyed it in jet black with a few streaks of red. I looked different but has a change ever hurt anyone?.

I ignored the stares and took a seat at the back. Avan stayed home today to fill in our parents on everything. I was angry and hurt that they actually hurt my grandma like that. She didn't deserve it and whoever did it will be paying with their lives.

As for my eye color it was still the same shade of purple. I didn't know what it meant but I had a feeling it wasn't dangerous. I didn't know anyone who I could ask...if my grandma was still alive she would've told me what it signifies. I grit my teeth at that thought.

"Miss Romirez, I offer my condolences. Your grandmother was a very sweet woman", my professor Mrs. Greene said before giving me a sympathetic smile.
